These Preds are tough to beat at home. Impressive advancing to the western finals with probably the stingiest goalie in these playoffs so far. R. Johanssen who had a quiet series was a difference maker. Blues' best days to do some damage in the playoffs are probably behind now, besides Tarasenko they need more scoring.

Now, I know it's only one period, but if you're an Oilers fan there's no way whatsoever that you can choke this one away, right? Right?

The series will go the distance as I thought.

Congratulations to the Predators. As much as it hurts today seeing the Blues exit, things are looking up with Yeo and these young players going forward.

Would love to see Edmonton vs Nashville next round.

I am here. Oh that...Did I not mention that Leon Draissatl was a duck hunter on the previous page? Five points tonight, four for M. Letestu, Talbot had a solid game too. They all came out banging from the get go, Gibson was just not ready and neither were his teammates. The only soul that showed some emotion was R. Kesler for ANA.

Draissatl is the Malkin to Crosby, the Messier to the Great One. Just when #97 is covered, he seems to always pick it up. Two days off for these teams, it should be a great game 7.

Great observation. Love old Oiler talk.

I would say I choose Messier.

The man did win a cup in Edmonton AFTER Gretzky was traded and then he "took" a group of Oilers to NY and won a cup for the Rangers.

Messier is ascended. 8)

Yes! But the momentum from this blowout means nothing. The momentum has shifted more in this series than Donald Trump's moods. The Ducks should have been flying after that incredible comeback in Game 5, and they were non-existent.

Lucic did a great job neutralizing Getzlaf with some big hits early. That must continue in Game 7.

I worry about the final game being in Anaheim. Not so much the noise -- that doesn't play a huge role in hockey. But Carlyle gets the last change at home, which can be pivotal when matching lines.

Why would you worry? The Ducks have lost 4 straight series when they led 3-2, and 4 straight game 7s in Anaheim.

If anything, I'd be excited if I were you.

I'm clinging to the hope that they finally break the streak, but nothing that I saw in that game yesterday told me they'd learned any lessons about playing strong in game 6 to close out a series. And Edmonton has been better for longer stretches the past week. This series would be over if it weren't for the unprecedented craziness of Game 5's final 3 minutes.

I'd love to say that the Ducks will rebound and play tough again, but I've seen them lay so many eggs in game 7s recently that it seems like a fool's hope. I'm hoping all the same... :?

And your matchup note is the only thing that I think keeps it close. Carlyle is fantastic in that respect, so maybe his return is what gets them over the hump. Sure looked like more of the same yesterday, though.

Should be a great game, that was the way to bounce back from choking a f***in game away. I think they are on a mission and I'm pulling for them if only to see more great picture of hot women in Edmonton sweaters.

Also Go Preds!!!! Gotta cheer them on now and see if they can get their first cup.

I think the match up game is now harder for the ducks though. Draisatl at centre is better than on Mcdavids wing. More lines to cover. Maybe this frees up RNH to score finally.

Drake looks good riding shotgun for Connor, and even if they didn't score, they put pressure and wore out the D.

Plus you have Zack Attack on the fourth line? Either he's faster than I thought, or Anaheims D has slowed down. And if they have, the primary Oiler weapon is speed.

I like Connor McJesus. I'm sure he's pissed he's not lighting the lamp, but he seems extremely unselfish and would take zero points of it means his team wins.

Draisatl has all but neutralized the Getzlaf line, save for one brief explosion. Entire style of play changed as soon as that happened...at least it seems that way to my ignorant eyes.

No, it was a brilliant move by McLellan after the last collapse. All lines are quite balanced now, and my only worry if I was an Oil fan is the D. I mean the guys filling up for Kepflom and Co have done an outstanding job, and ANA forwards are not light by any means. Larsson must be dog tired with all the minutes he's been logging.

Also, I understand you're a bit apprehensive on games 7 for your team, but sooner or later they have to snap out. It should be a dandy one, I think it will be up to both goalies and whoever is hotter will take their team to the next round.

Just so unnerving when you see Crosby's reaction when a play involves his head or near some. First he gets clipped by Niskanen's stick that cut his nose and cringed painfully, then the head first into the boards fighting for the puck with Orlov. Sid plays the game hard but I am worried whether he's ok to finish the game tonight.

Close 20 minutes, Caps look a bit hungrier, nice tick tack up your a$$ goal by Oshie.

Such domination by the Capitals but...

but...

but...

Nice to have a glimpse of the lazy stupid crapitals in the last couple of minutes.

Did make me laugh...

BY FAR the biggest NHL chokers of the last decade vs the defending champs in a game 7.

Show me crapitals ...

Show Me.

So psyched for game 7's.

Not you G7.

3 takeaways from another Caps loss:

-Caps grossly out-shot and out-chanced Pens for 6 of 7 games in series.

-Some good bounces and miracle performance from Fleury (who lost starting job and has been horrendous in playoffs last several years) only reason it even got to game 7.

-Caps folded like a tent in 3rd period, not getting a single scoring chance in most important period of year.
