Felt just like the real thing though.

How long have we waited for gameplay like this? I have been waiting since TW 2000 for the PC pre-1.0 patch where par was a phenomenal score.....really enjoying the challenge of TGC right now and none of it feels contrived.....you actually are in total control of your success and failure.....love it!RobVarak wrote:Felt just like the real thing though.First round I couldn't strike the ball worth a damn. Just all over the place with my swing. Second round I was striking the ball perfectly well, but making terrible course management decisions and my putting just totally abandoned me.
I had a good first round in the test tourney for sure, but struggled in the second round; was lucky to get under par. For some reason during my second round my approach swings all were around 91-95% power, so I missed many greens. It felt like a lag/memory leak type thing. I may exit out after each round and reload the game for each round going forward.Spooky wrote:Okay - I am calling out 'HOGZ The Truth' for glitching!![]()

How is it that you are like -4 under on every course I play? Damn son - these are some tough courses IMO.
Totally agree. I had a great sequence that I meant to upload and didn't. I hit an approach from 130-140 and just stuck it but it lipped out and ended up rolling off the green. My chip back onto the green from 15 yards or so rimmed out as well leaving me an incredibly unsatisfying tap-in for par.DivotMaker wrote:

Xbox One
This is the version with which we have seen the most issues and, thus, we’ve been focusing most of our efforts on it over the last couple of weeks. The big issues were mainly down to some memory leaks that were not apparent in the development environment. Leaving the game running over a period of time caused most of the problems. A hard reset of the console would get rid of these but that certainly isn’t ideal. The other two key issues that the PS4 and PC versions don’t suffer from are with frame rate and graphical fidelity. The latter really comes to the fore when a user has their Xbox One display resolution set at 1080 whilst the game runs at 720.
We’re close to finalising a patch for submission to Microsoft now, we’re just giving a good testing before we do, this will have the following key issues resolved or improved plus some other, more minor fixes:
■Memory Leaks Fixed (Course Saving Issues, Improved Frame Rate, Audio Issues)
■Terrain Sculpting issues (Less blocky)
■Front End Improvements (V-Sync Option)
■Golfer covering the putting info
■Too Many Friends issue (Having lots of Xbox Live friends would cause frame rate issues and connection issues)
■UI hesitation when network access is poor
With this going to Microsoft early next week, we’re hoping it’ll go live within 2 weeks.
Graphically we’re still working on improvements, but with the size of the area in view we really are putting a lot of pressure on the GPU. We can’t dictate what the player is seeing because, with the course editor, people could create anything. So to keep the frame rate high, we’ve needed to drop to 720p. We will continue to work on this though and slowly push to 900p and above. It’ll just take a bit of time.
Ditto....played one of the HB Official tournaments this past weekend and was -15 through 2 rounds and actually leading. Shot a 74 in round 3 and then a 65 in round 4 and ended up losing by 4 strokes for a 2nd place finish......Wilk5280 wrote:Much like real golf, I'm finding that when I'm in a groove the game is easy. I cant speak for the PC version which obviously depends on your rig/video card, but I have played both console versions and the PS4 is the winner there due to the 1080 resolution. Unreal value at $35 and the dev team has bigger updates coming.Rodster wrote:For those who have played every version. Which one do you suggest? http://thegolfclubgame.com/2014/09/05/d ... st-launch/We are going to be looking at a handicap system and a country club-style clan set up plus some extended player customisation. We’ll also be putting out a few new themes, such as a tropical one, improving the depth of commentary, adding a few more play modes, improved course editing tools and some special JCauthen cameras (as we call them here).
They could have if they stuck to just their original design features. However, they said they would listen to what the community wanted in the game and implemented several of those suggested features which moved the release date further into late Summer.Sudz wrote:They should have released this at the beginning of the summer.
I'm having the same issues with trying to get 100% power consistently on my shots (getting a lot at 91% & 92%). I'm thinking it may be a memory leak rather than server related. I read a post from a player on the HB Studios forum suggesting to delete the user settings file on the PS4 hard drive and then reboot. It works for about 1/2 to 3/4 of a round before the power inconsistency surfaces again.TheTruth wrote:Man this game is enjoyable when it is playing smoothly. Just finished my 4 rounds for the tourney and my two middle rounds where flat out not fun to play because of the lag. I had many shots where it took me at least 10 swings to finally hit the ball! And when I did it was a crap shoot on how much power I was going to get. The first and last rounds were smooth. This makes me think it is all server related on their end since all rounds were played on the same course.
Hopefully they get this ironed out quickly. See you guys out on the course!
Thanks, I picked up the Steam version. I would have bought the PS4 version but I have boycotted buying anything from PSN ever again.Diablo25 wrote:I cant speak for the PC version which obviously depends on your rig/video card, but I have played both console versions and the PS4 is the winner there due to the 1080 resolution. Dang it... I went to play this yesterday afternoon and it had expired. I've been so bogged down getting my XBox 360 controller to work with the PS4 version, via that CronusMax that I have spent more time trying to do that than playing. BTW, I was finally successful at getting not only my XBox 360 controller working with the PS4, but also my XB1 controller! They both work seamlessly and without any lag that I can detect. It feels so much better with the higher position of the left thumbstick on the XBox controllers... I'm truly stoked for the game now.DChaps wrote:For the Xbox One folks, I created a test 4 round tournament for the next two days at Atacama Country Club. You have to be on my friends list to play I think. If anyone who has the Xbox One version has a chance to play, it would be appreciated as I am trying to see how the scoring works from round to round. It is not super intuitive. The course is very challenging but fun to play.
From the Main Menu, Select Play, Play Tournament, Select Golfer, Select More, Hit the Right BUtton (RB) twice to change the Filter from HB Official, to Public Competitions, then to Friends Competitions. Then you should see a tournament called "DSP Test". Or just click the "Y" button to Search and type DSP and you should see it.
