Diablo25 wrote:I'm too lazy :) to check if anyone discussed the Kennedy's mini series that aired earlier this month on The Reelz channel. I really enjoyed it. When I saw that The History channel turned it down after it's completion I figured it wasn't done well but I was wrong. Barry Pepper continues to be one of my favorite actors. He was awesome as Bobby Kennedy in the series. I felt the entire cast did a great job but Pepper was phenomenal as RFK. They captured the sadness of his assassination perfectly. I highly recommend it to you guys.

If you have Comcast, this series i ON DEMAND HD. I'm half way thru it and I must say it's really good. Sure, there are historical inaccuracies but as a whole, the acting and production is very good.

My opinion about the controversial so called inaccuracies of the series? Well, I am a big Keenedy fan and admirer but I'm not naive to understand these guys were not all angels. I wouldn't doubt if half the things people have complained about are true. Some are obviously incorrect but some can be borderline true imo.

Anecdote : One of our close family friends when I was growing up use to work close to the Kennedy admin back in the early 60's and while he loved the Kennedy's, he use to always tell me that when it came to dirty tricks, Nixon was a choir boy compared to what the Kennedy's use to do. they just happened to get away with it because they had the media in their back pockets and during those times, things were not reported as they were during Watergate.

If you can find it, try to watch, especially if you are somewhat of a history buff.

Here's a small tribute to the war hero who became President - one video I really enjoy and safe to show your kids :

The new hbo go site is awesome! Tons of movies to watch and every season of all their recent tv series. The streaming quality is great too, the stuff I have watched so far looks better than what I stream on netflix.

Wonder how good it will look hooked up to an HDTV. Streaming HD isn't the best but it would be nice to at least try.

This couldn't have come at a better time for me. Just had Directv installed and have the three months of HBO free (never had it before), so I have three months to watch Boardwalk Empire, The Wire, and three seasons of Entourage. Pretty pumped.

If you like comedy, on HBO GO, there is a series called SUMMER HEIGHTS HIGH. It's from Australia and is really funny. It's not a conventional comedy and I won't give anything away, but check it out.

FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS -great if you love comedy with a musical twist. The LOTR parody was one of the best episodes.

Also the comedy EXTRAS with Ricky Gervais was very good too.

And don't forget TRUE BLOOD, season 1 and 2 were great, season 3 eh...

Just finished watching the Blue Bloods finale. Anyone not watching this is missing one hell of a show. Great cast, great story lines, great acting.

Loved the show and that was a fantastic episode. Too bad there never was a third season.

Anyone else looking forward to Falling Skies? It"s seems to be very War of the Worlds/ Independence Day-ish.

I'll probably give it a shot. I'm not a big Noah Wiley (sp) fan but it looks decent.

I've been watching Franklin and Bash on TNT. It's a pretty good buddy comedy. Not too deep but it serves it's purpose. It's about two rebellious, "I'll do it my way" lawyers who get hired by a big firm. They are basically single guys living it up and lawyering in non traditional ways. So far it has been very entertaining.

I'm looking forward to the return of Rizoli and Isles on TNT also. Solid cop drama starring Angie Harmon (always been a fan). It kind of surprised me last year at how good it was. Not earth shattering but entertaining.

Fair, if you prefer "alternative" methods of getting the series.

Very unfair, if you think "Sanders" isn't funny. It was one of the most brilliant sitcoms ever on TV.

Wow. One of the best season finales I've seen in a long time. Gonna be a long wait for season 2.

One of the greatest comedy series ever. I have loved watching it again on IFC, and it has three of the greatest characters ever to grace one show. 60 bucks is a bargain.

I have gotten hooked on a TV show I never thought I would have enjoyed: Veronica Mars. I always thought it was kind of an OC/Laguna Hills type of teen drama, but at a friend's suggestion I started watching season 1. It's really, really good, almost like a Raymond Chandler novel set in a modern California high school. It does a great job opening with a gripping murder mystery that defines the first season while also adding subplots that don't feel tacked on. My wife and I just watched four episodes in a row tonight, something I haven't done since Battlestar Galactica.

I've got the first season on DVD because I heard it was good. Never got around to watching, though. Sounds like good summer viewing, though.

I loved that show but it foes sort of fall apart a bit in the last season (can't remember if it was season two or three). Of course despite my protests, my girlfriend is convinced there's only one real reason I ever liked the show....

Not a bad reason, though, Zep :D

I heard the same, that the first two seasons are really good and the third not so much. We're about halfway through season 1 and really digging it. It's got a good blend of being glitzy, seedy, serious, and funny. Kristin Bell and Enrico Colantoni are also terrific as Veronica and her dad.
