I was still logged into Xbox Live and everything else was working fine. Went back into TGC and it actually took me right back to where I left off. Pretty cool. However, when I finished that hole and clicked Advance, ithe camera just sat there looking at my golfer. I waited, waited, but nothing. Then I went back out to the console and back into TGC. Same thing again. Let me play the entire next hole, but when I clicked on Advance, it just sat there. I waited about 5 minutes this time. Tried it one last time and it let me play the 10th hole, and then did the same thing. It was pretty fun while it lasted.
I am still having this issue, but now it is every course I try to play. I finish a hole, see the scorecard, hit advance to go to the next hole and the camera just sits there looking at my golfer on the green of the hole I just completed. The camera moves around, but basically the game stops responding to anything I do with the controller.

I have been trying to post this in the HB Studios tech support forums, but I do not have an approved login yet. Don't seem to see any other posts related to this issue, but basically this game is completely unusable at this point for me.

I must just be unlucky with golf games on consoles, as it was the constant lockups with Tiger Woods that made me give up on that game as well.

I've never seen that issue. The only thing I have run into is server issues....lag, etc. The first night I had the XB1 version there was a lot of server traffic but HB (or someone) cleared it up quickly.

Try deleting the game and re-downloading it and the day one patch. They are getting reports of crashing with certain courses post day one patch.....so far, mine has worked flawlessly.

The Live scores feature is a nice addition to the game. Basically, I've been playing wherever friends happen to be. I still need improvement on my short game particularly the pitching department. Just wondering if there was a spin button to make my shots sit more on the greens.

Really enjoying it so far.

Remote play on the Vita is great. I played a couple rounds on the deck this evening. It is smooth as silk, controls well, and since it is a smaller screen the graphics really look fantastic.

I am going to give that a try. I was worried about the smaller sticks if it was going to make putting even harder.

Press L2 and use the non-swing stick simultaneously to adjust loft.

I hope they add practice swings at some point. I think that would help my chipping and pitching immensely. I can never get a feel for the really short shots.

It would be nice if we could all go directly to a practice mode and practice our short games (for me is the pitching and chipping) but in the meantime I found you can do this.

As I'm getting the feel for the game, wow, this is getting better and better. It's an absolute insane value at 35...even without all of the modes people don't even bother with. Unlimited courses, ghost balls and the message center to match you up with your friends is just brilliant.

Also, it appears my vitriol towards the roll on the green on approach shots was only slightly exaggerated. It's much better on some of the other courses...tho it still seems a bit too much, given the course conditions at the time. Either way, not nearly as bad as I thought after a few more random rounds.

I think it's in the settings. Here are videos explaining.

Thanks. I did watch that second one after searching around. I tried it and while it kind of works - it's not the experience my friend and I were hoping for.

Here is the convoluted process as far as I can gather:

- Start a round on a course
- Try to invite a friend via the pause menu
- Friend sees invite message in inbox and tries to join from there unsuccessfully
- Friend has to start up his own round of play
- Friend goes into his pause menu and finds my game and selects 'Join Now'
- I wait at first tee box for friend to join
- Friend joins current game
- We BOTH have to then pause the game and select to enable turn based gameplay/viewing
- Watch and wait for each others shots with significant, annoying delay :(

So in theory we were able to get it working and we were chatting via Party Chat during the round. The problem is that we are not watching each others game in real time. So I'd take a shot and he'd have to wait about 15-20 seconds or so for it to display on his side (and vice-versa). Kind of a bummer experience and makes the round go a whole lot longer in the end.

Anyone find any other way to make this work more efficiently?

Unfortunately, currently with turn-based multiplayer the delay in seeing your opponent's shot playout on your screen is due to having no lobby feature. The developers are keen on getting a lobby system in the game but said it will take up to 6 months to implement. The community is very vocal on this feature so I'm sure you will see this in a future update.

I prefer to play simultaneous multiplayer while chatting but I can see why people like playing turn-based.

so how is everyone getting the ball to stay on the green?I find my approach shots have to be with longer irons rather than wedges, so are you guys just lofting up the club? if I see one more ball land at the beginning of the green and then roll all the way across I will scream.

that is when I'm not screaming when Im putting because the tap ins just won't go in!

I am definitely having my issues for my ball to stick as they all seem to just sail long. I have started to flop more shots but the reverse happens as they fall too short of the pin. My only gripe with this game so far besides the MP issues discussed above.

I'm way overusing the flop shot to try to combat the crazy greens. In fact I'm managing the course differently because of this now, which kind of sucks. The loft mechanic is crazy accurate though, so if I can play an approach from inside 35 yards or so I have pretty good success putting the ball inside 1-putt range.

I've played maybe 8 different courses now, and am not seeing this problem with holding the green. It's very rarely that I roll off, and if I do I can usually attribute it to misjudging the distance due to wind or elevation. I have a number of complaints with the game, but this isn't one of 'em. :)

I tried this on my PS4 yesterday after it was continuously disconnecting and it seems to have worked. I haven't had one disconnect since doing it, but then again, I've only played 45 holes since doing that. I won't get any real seat time in with the game again until Friday or Saturday.

Yes, my oldest son and I have played some holes together. I believe it is up to four players for local multiplayer.

For the Xbox One folks, I created a test 4 round tournament for the next two days at Atacama Country Club. You have to be on my friends list to play I think. If anyone who has the Xbox One version has a chance to play, it would be appreciated as I am trying to see how the scoring works from round to round. It is not super intuitive. The course is very challenging but fun to play.

From the Main Menu, Select Play, Play Tournament, Select Golfer, Select More, Hit the Right BUtton (RB) twice to change the Filter from HB Official, to Public Competitions, then to Friends Competitions. Then you should see a tournament called "DSP Test". Or just click the "Y" button to Search and type DSP and you should see it.
