A workhorse. Along Duncan Keith the 'Go to" guys for coach Babcock. Dan Boyle finally picked up his game too and so far they're rocking the Russian forwards. This is the way to play'em, by being physical and rocking them hard along the boards.
This Molson place is crazy here, but it's only the 1st period. I've seen some amazing things in this rivalry over the years.
Toews in faceoffs, Richards with his gritty game, Morrow, everyone is bringing their A game so far. Can't wait to get the Crosby line going.

No goals but they have been entertaining. Crosby made a couple of tough and gritty plays one setting up Niedermayer.
That shot out of the air from Iginla was pretty cool too.
WTF with all the Nabby bashing by the announcers? Sorry, but the goalie is not the problem this game. Honestly, without Nabby in net Canada could easily have a couple or few more goals on Russia. The non-existent defense and shaky puck handling are the culprits.

Not sure what NBC is saying as I am watching the Canadian feed. But he's struggling. He should have had the Morrow goal and leaving that juicy rebound for Perry is inexcusable. This isn't the preliminary round. Got to go for Bryzgalov.

The Morrow goal would have gone in on about any goalie. Morrow was allowed to come in from behind totally untouched. That's a goalie's nightmare. The rebound Nabby gave up on the Perry goal was not good, but then again, Perry easily was ahead of the defender for an uncontested goal. The last goal there was a wide open slap shot with no defenseman even within a sniff of contesting it. I completely overestimated Russia before the tourney began.
If you asked me if I expected team Canada to score 15 goals in back to back games, the answer would be an obvious NO. This is the performance that everyone was hoping to watch, they were a determined bunch and they played smart by dumping the puck deep into the Russian zone every time that they got a chance to. Doughty, Boyle, Weber, Richards. Everyone came on banging and they shut out Ovechkin.
The best that I've seen this team skate yet, geez even Pronger was moving his legs. Luongo was solid again, this team is peaking at the right time.
Along R. Miller, I had J. Halak of the Habs as one of the most consistent goalies coming into Vancouver. With his solid play, Chara's steadiness in D, Hossa, M. Gaborik and Demitra creating havoc up front, this Slovakia team is the dark horse that I was talking about all along as they upset the Swedes in the late game. Not to be taken lightly they also upset the Russians last week, they are playing well and will face team Canada on Friday looking for a medal.
Unfortunately for them, Canada seems to be playing better and better every game, every shift and they'll be hard to contain.
See, now THIS is the hockey that's enjoyable to watch. Yesterday was great top to bottom. After about a week and a half of playing/practicing together these teams are gelling and showing their team talent as opposed to a group of individuals trying to make it work. A couple weeks of practice together before the games started would have given us this play from day one which would have been great. But the medal games should be damn entertaining.

How much of this "sudden jelling" was due to the fact a trip to the medal round was at stake instead of just more familiarity with linemates and defensive partners?
NHL teams play at a different level in the playoffs, too, and it has nothing to do with jelling.
