Apparently, just playing the damn thing can induce it with alarming frequency. Box #2 just died on me , build date 7/30/07.

At least I'll have time to catch up on Uncharted

So, coffin redux is on the way. This time they are asking me to return the power brick as well. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this means I *may* get one of the falcons back this time, but I'm not optimistic.

That's why I was almost happy when it happened on Saturday. Fortunately it's a good time release wise to be without 360. Sorry to hear about your loss G7, we'll have to see how long it takes for each of us.

make sure you get a power brick back!!!

I think i have read some people on the xbox.com forums dont always get it back since only a few are asked to send in the brick.

they just received mine, it's been like 12 days since I mailed it out. I guess it'll total a month when I get it back and if it works.

I called for my status today and they said they are fed ex ing the xbox and should come here tomorrow.

They replaced the motherboard and it's going to be the same xbox, no new replacement.

I hope the sucker works when I get it so I can sell it off. thinking about buying a ps3 now for mlb the show, or I'll just keep the old ps2 I have and play the show for that system.

I would keep it. If they replaced the motherboard that tells me you probably got the new Falcon chip with the new style heatsink.

Ya I was hoping for a price cut. also, would want to buy one of those white ps3's, the black ones look depressing.

Missed the fedex delivery today since I WAS AT WORK! MS for some reason decided to get signature confirmation so they'll try back Monday.

But you know what, I don't care. because this whole time I've not had a 360, I've actually not even missed it one bit. Maybe it's time to give up the hobby.

I'm totally disgusted again. They never sent me a new console. They just sent the same one back to me again with the same problem. It won't recognize controllers for more than 30 seconds. It's not the controllers because none of them work and it's not the location or power supply because I can hookup another 360 in the same location and it works fine. I have two case workers assigned to my case and they have been overnighting the packages, but WTF?

when you get one that works, sell the damn thing. That's what I am going to do. Gaming consoles shouldn't be this much trouble.

Well, I had another one (geez, what is this ... #6 or #7 I think) crap out on me last night. Every disc I put in would come up as "Unplayable Disc". It's out of warranty and I'm not about to give Microsoft any more of my money for these things.

I actually managed to tear the thing apart this morning, clean the lens, and re-seat all the parts. For now it's reading them again but if it goes out again I'll give it to the wife as an XBL Arcade machine and I'll just stick with the PC.

I took mine completely apart and did what you did, since then it's been working great (crosses fingers).

Miine just came back but i missed the fed ex man. I hope i catch him tomorrow or i will just drive and pick it up. I am tweaking because i want to see if its any better or worse then i had.
