I may be on later. Depends on how late I stay up. The wife and daughter leaving at 6am for three days means I plan on a lot of FH2 this weekend. But it also might mean I won't be one tonight.

Falken Car Pack
John Schommer
Monday, November 03, 2014

Whether you like your cars with curves resembling something straight out of a Degas painting or you want something more straight-laced, the Falken Car Pack for Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox One has something for you. Available today for $5 in the Xbox Live store, the Falken Car Pack features six cars for Forza Horizon 2 that are waiting to be customized and sent out to the highways and byways of southern Europe.

For the modern sports car lover the new Alfa Romeo 4C and BMW M4 await. Are you looking to shred tires at an alarming rate? The Chevy SS is a Hoonigan in sheep’s clothing. If time travel is your thing, take a trip back and feel the rumble of the Lamborghini Jalpa or that most European of JDM classics, the Toyota 2000GT.

In addition to the availability of The Falken Car Pack for Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox One, players will also be able to check out a new free car available to all: the classic 1990 Subaru Legacy RS.

Check out the trailer and see what these cars are capable of.

Does anyone have the retail preorder exclusive 2008 Ferrari California? It is the last car I need a photo of, but it appears I will have to do it online with someone else. I've got 250 cars done, and I'm pretty sure 251 is the current number. Hopefully a new pack will come out soon, so I can hit 260 for the 100K bonus.

Anyway, if someone has it, I'd love to meet in free roam and snap a photo.

Can't help ya Aristo as I've only played about an hour total so far. Just chiming in to say how absolutely amazingly great this game is. Everything from the presentation to the gameplay to the visuals is incrediblly professional. Best racing game I've played in well....forever probably.

$20 for DLC is a MAJOR ripoff, especially considering the full retail game can be purchased for $35-40 if you look hard enough.

Since I had the VIP for the game already, it was only $10, which might be a ripoff in the scheme of things. That said, it's an amazing set of content. I ran the first race and then jumped into two online road trips and had a blast. I wish they had made some more playground games, but the new courses for King and Infected are tailor made playing with off-road vehicles.

But really, it is the driving by the seat of your pants on courses with a ton of hills and drops that really makes it. Looking forward to another night racing with you guys. It feels like it is designed for racing with friends, because something crazy is always happening.

For $10 it is definitely worth it. Got to play around a bit and I love the elevations and the new weather effects. Also, every Forza Horizon 2 player gets some free stuff even if you don't pickup the DLC.

I know 20 clams is pretty steep for some DLC, but damn this is top shelf stuff. A lot of fun and content that really expands on the base game. I wouldn't mind seeing another one of these types of add-ons a couple months down the road.

You f*ckers are tempting me to unshackle my money clip, a process that requires NORAD and Joint Chiefs approval. My eldest son loves FH2 even more than me, so that makes this expense easier for me to justify.

I caved and bought the Storm Island expansion today. Had no idea I was VIP, so it only cost me $10. My 13-year-old son gives the tracks, vehicles and modes a big thumbs' up, so I'm eager to drive it.

I have to give Turn 10 a lot of credit for making a VIP pass a worthwhile purchase. Buying it with Forza 5 saved me money on the pass for Horizon and Storm Island, on top of the car/credit benefits.

So true. I love the island...completely different setting, so it is a nice expansion. And for 10 bucks w/ VIP it's definitely worth it. 20 might be pushing it...so as a general rule of thumb. That's a lot for ANY expansion on ANY game.

what a kick ass game. Initially I thought it was a letdown since you start out with a basic car. but now i've gone into it further and really love the whole open world model. Just got online unlocked so that'll be a whole lot of fun too.

is any of the dlc free or you have to buy everything? and do i have to get this one app thing?

You should get the Forza app and get signed up for Forza Rewards. If this is your very first Forza game, you are not going to get a ton of credits, but if you have played past Forza games, then it does provide some nice bumps to your credits.

I bought the VIP and car packs, which I think it worth it. The VIP provided double the level up bonus, which can be substantial over time. Also, if you buy the VIP, Storm Island is $10 in stead of #20, so you can factor that in. And you will want Storm Island eventually.

As a hint, now that you have opened up multiplayer, do a quick upgrade on at least one car you like to drive at every class. You will have to choose a car from a particular class for each race or series of races, and driving a car that is upgraded to, 899 versus 834 will make a difference. When you select cars, they are listed in order of rating, so you can just go all the way to the left and grab the best car. You will probably also want do this with different types of cars, depending on the the kinds of courses.

I had boosted my favorite car, the Ford Revolution, to an S2, but it was just 920 or so. I dropped it back to S1, and now it is 899, so it is a better option in the S1 races than it was in S2. But when we race, sometimes the limit is class A, B, C, or D. Just have a nice ride at each of those levels ready to go.

Agreed, it's fantastic. Just monkeyed around with a few races this morning and raced the jets at my daughter's request. The landscape is beautiful and the offroad driving more interesting than FH1. I will be spending a lot of time with this one.

Is Forza 5 as good as this? Or would it be a letdown to get Forza 5 after FH2? F5 is way harder right?
