Now we know why Favre wears number 4. He definitely doesn't deserve to wear a 6, 7, or 8.

Looks like the Panthers and Bills are competing to see which is the ultimate dogshit team in the NFL - good god the home blackouts can't come soon enough for Buffalo. Wonder if we could bar the Skydome and prevent them from stinking up the joint on both sided of the border.

Best wishes,

Doug

Damn good game in Wash, caught the tail end of the last drive. They mentioned the Wash FG Kicker had already missed one, then on the final drive Crosby misses a 53 yard FG.

Costly interception by Rodgers. Despite not being able to run the ball they win the game as GB continues to commit late, dumb penalties.

As Phil Simms said it was almost Gale Sayers like the way he tore holes in the Dallas D with all those cutbacks.

It worked out for them with the pic 6 but wtf?! were the Cards doing at the end of the game? The Saints have no tos and they are throwing passes instead of taking a knee....That could have been special in a pathetic way if the Saints had finished off the miracle.

Despite the Rams, Redzone was great today.

Only one complaint. After last weeks stupid fumble on the pointless int return that cost the game why did every asshole who had a pic to seal a game want to return it for a TD? Dont any of these dumb fucks have a working brain?

The Bills are reaping the harvest of many, many bad drafts and Ralph Wilson's inability to open his wallet more than a crack to attract top-drawer coaches.

It's ridiculous how bad the NFC is. The homer in me loves the Bears being tied with the Falcons for best record in the conference, but I have no illusions that's a testament to the state of the NFC. Four of the seven teams with winning records have given up more points than they have scored. The Cardinals are in sole possession of first in the NFC West despite giving up 50 more points than they have scored. We've slipped from parity to parody this season.

There are a lot of bad teams in the AFC, too, but at least a handful of teams that look pretty good. I don't think there's a single good team in the entire NFC.

Yeah, it was great. I went for a 20 mile run in the morning and just spent most of the rest of the day watching Red Zone. I also totally agree with your comment on the interception returns and was hoping Dominique-Wilkins-Warren-Cromartie would have fumbled.

Speaking of Wilson, I just read this story on SI.com:

"Buffalo Bills owner Ralph Wilson tells The Associated Press it might take as long as three years to rebuild his team, and calls drafting a quarterback next year the club's top priority.

Except to say, "It's bad," Wilson is lost for words in describing the Bills, who at 0-5 are off to their worst start in 25 years.
Wilson's says fans will need patience to endure a rebuilding process that's bound to be painful. Wilson says general manager Buddy Nix will spend the next two weeks on the road scouting the top crop of college quarterback prospects.

Wilson also accepts full blame for the woeful Bills, who already are in jeopardy of missing the playoffs for an 11th straight year."

No playoffs in 11 years and they put the dude in the Hall of Fame last year? Not sure I'll ever figure that one out.

At one point Ralph Wilson had enough sense to hire Bill Polian and Marv Levy but it's been ages since this team appeared to have any sensible plan. It really doesn't make sense to pay players top dollar but then skimp on the head coach and GM positions. This team's pretty much in a holding pattern until Ralph Wilson gives up control and then unfortunately there's the strong likelihood that the team is going to end up leaving Buffalo once Wilson dies. Pretty sad because they have a rabid fan base in Buffalo that is simply looking for the team to start winning again.

Best wishes,

Doug

Ralph definitely deserves a spot in Canton. A no-brainer. You need to look at his entire body of work.

First, he is the only owner the Bills have ever had, and Buffalo has become a model small-market franchise. Sure, the on-field results have sucked the last 10 years, but the Bills were an NFL powerhouse for a decade. Plus the Bills almost always sell out, and Rich Stadium (Ralph Wilson Stadium) was one of the biggest houses in the NFL, at 80,000, until renovations and the addition of luxury suites a few years ago cut the capacity to around 74,000.

Ralph also worked with Lamar Hunt to form the AFL. The NFL would not be where it is today without the formation of that league. Plus the Bills won the 1965 AFL Championship with Jack Kemp at quarterback for a dominant team. Just about everyone admits that if the Super Bowl started one year earlier, the Bills would have given Green Bay a hell of a tough game.

The Super Bowl run speaks for itself. Yes, the losses. But do you think any team will earn four consecutive Super Bowl trips any time soon? Unlikely.

Finally, Ralph hired and groomed two of the finest NFL general managers in the last quarter-century, Bill Polian and John Butler.

Wilson is a very worthy addition to Canton. He's one of the most influential and successful owners in NFL history. He's one of the true building blocks of pro football in America.

Ralph Wilson should have been in Canton years ago. Ridiculous that it took as long as it did.

BTW PK,
You should start watching Stanford games, the QB the Bills will inevitably be taking at the top of the draft plays for the Cardinal. He's a legit player whom I think has a skillset taylor made for the NFL game.

If the 49ers don't draft him instead.

Maybe Bills will be leery of picking another Stanford QB though.

Why? Both played in completely different systems under completely different coaching staffs. Once is a legit bona fide top of the draft QB with all the physical tools you could ask for. The other was a reach to take in the 3rd round, who had a limited skill set and who needed to be in a particular type of system to be succesful.

Locker's a better athlete. Luck is NFL ready right now IMO.
