I thought this might be coming soon. I didn't really think the DS would suit your gaming needs. Is this going towards the new pc or possibly a 360 or Wii? Just curious.pk500 wrote:-- Nintendo DS Lite Polar White, 2 months old, with power cord, all original packaging, in excellent shape

Scoop:
The DS Lite satisfied my gaming needs very nicely until I discovered two weeks ago that my laptop could run PC games from 2004 and earlier, and I've been BLOWN AWAY by the fun of PC gaming in my two favorite genres, racing sims and first-person military shooters.
Racing sims on the PC are SO much harder than those on the console, and I'm digging the challenge beyond belief. Plus Call of Duty and the original Operation Flashpoint on the PC are big, big fun. I loved OFP on the Xbox, and I can't believe the console and PC versions of the original CoD share the same name.
Grand Prix Legends 2004 is worthy of sainthood. I'm so head-over-heels in love with that game it's ridiculous. Plus CMR 2.0, Rally Trophy, F1 Challenge 99-02, NASCAR Racing Season 2003 -- it's just embarrassingly good and fun for a sim racer like me.
I thought I was a strong sim racer due to my console gaming. I could compete with anyone here regularly except for Terry -- then again, who can stay with him?
-- but I'm humbled by PC racing sims with a wheel that Pigpen generously sent to me. All of the things I thought were proper with a console sim are bad, bad habits with a PC sim and a wheel.
So I'm relearning how to drive, and it's painful, sweet pleasure.
JimmyDeicide also sent me a bunch of his old games, and JackB1 and DChaps also have offered to chip in with their dust-collecting stuff, proving once again that no place on the Web beats the generosity and spirit of this joint. No place.
Plus the mod community for PC games is amazing. The amount of tracks -- we're talking hundreds -- and cars and season mods for Grand Prix Legends alone is STAGGERING, and NASCAR Racing Season 2003 and Rally Trophy also have very active mod and update communities. Hell, I even found a guy who has updated NHL 2004 for the PC with this year's rosters and rules.
I'm a tinkerer by nature and don't mind making these mods to enhance the game.
Cutting me off before I spontaneously combust, the DS Lite is a hell of a fun machine. It served the purpose of giving me a fresh outlook on console/handheld gaming when I needed it, when I was burned out on shooters and racing sims -- my two favorite genres -- on the Xbox.
But PC gaming has me starting from scratch with incredible depth, complexity and challenge in the games, and I'm so f*cking jazzed about this hobby again it's incredible. It's probably the same sensation that a lot of you cats who bought a Wii are feeling, and it's terrific. Euphoria is a hell of a drug.
I'm using the dough from the DS Lite sale to buy a bigger hard drive for my MP3 player, a bundle of good, cheap cigars and to make a contribution to the Wounded Warriors.
This isn't an indictment of the DS Lite; it's an ode bordering on orgasm for PC sim racing and military first-person shooters, especially sim racing.
Lord, I need a smoke and some Johnnie Walker and water, neat.
Take care,
PK

Take this as a caution to you from the person who started one of the very first online GPL leagues with 20 car online grids back in 1998 - GPL is a VERY jealous mistress.
If you stop driving for even a week, your skills in it will degrade...and degrade badly. I was always amazed at how much time it took to get myself back into top GPL shape after any kind of a break.
Just letting you know -- it ain't quite like ridin' a bike!
(But you are sorely tempting me to re-install it and hook up with you for some side by side drifting through the Masta kink at Spa. nothing quite like doing that with someone you trust at 170mph)

I've got a new PSP with 1 GB memory stick and a copy of Madden. I seem to have lost the power cord (I'm still hopeful that it will turn up), but I can throw in a battery charger. Looking for $200 for the whole thing or a bit less if you don't want Madde (which is very good). PM me if you're interested.
It's a great piece of hardware, but I can't use it as an MP3 player-it won't download off a Mac-and I find that it makes me feel just a bit too much like an addict.

Me and my wife are thinking about selling one or both of our Apple laptops.
12" Powerbook 1.33ghz, 512MB RAM, Superdrive. I need to check to see when the AppleCare warranty expires. The case is bent from a drop about 1 year ago (everything still works).
14" iBook, SOLD
Both have OS X 10.3 installed.
Still trying to figure out what the average market value on these are right now, so if you're interested drop me a PM and we can try to figure something out.

And take a look at his other items, this guy didn't miss a beat when the NES launched. His main auction is up to 15 now, insane.
