Enron Field was a name. It is no longer the name of the park, so why all the negativity?rubba19 wrote:
Knowing that it was once Enron Field is all you really need to know about the place.
Bad karma.

Didn't we already go over this? All you have to know is that they have a freaking HILL and a FLAG POLE in center field. That has ridiculos written all over it.DivotMaker wrote:Why?sportdan30 wrote:

It's a fun place to watch a game because it's got a good atmosphere and great amenities, but come on, a hill and a flagpole in the field of play?
I played on a high school field once that had a hill and a tree in the field of play. It was abotu 320 to the beginning of the hill in left-center. It was a joke. At least this hill at Minute Maid rarely comes into play.dbdynsty25 wrote:Didn't we already go over this? All you have to know is that they have a freaking HILL and a FLAG POLE in center field. When did you live in Chicago? That might have something to do with it. I've lived in the Chicago area my whole life and the whole Cubs/Sox hating each other thing was never there. It didn't really come around until interleague play. Maybe it was there in the city but I never knew anything about it. Being a die hard Sox and Cubs fan, I'm definitely not the norm in these parts now. I've been going to Comiskey and Wrigley for as long as I can remember. And the sports radio and media around here never talked about animosity between the fan bases until recently (last 10 years or less).sportdan30 wrote:I'm still surprised at how many Cubs fans can root for the White Sox as well as fans having allegiances to both teams. It's unbelieveable. Living in Chicago for a few years, I got a chance to listen to sports radio on a daily basis and there was just so much animosity between the two fan bases. I gotta believe the forum posters on here from Chitown are not the norm.
That said, if the Cards don't come back from 3-1 down Go Whitesox!
Minute Maid Park is a disgrace of a ballpark.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Id rather have Minute Maid than that eye sore Green Wall in Fenaway.DivotMaker wrote:I get that, but to call it a "disgrace" is pretty harsh, IMHO....dbdynsty25 wrote: It's a fun place to watch a game because it's got a good atmosphere and great amenities, but come on, a hill and a flagpole in the field of play?
Well remember, much like me Dan is a pissed off Cardinal fan right now!!! We've got to take it out on something and if we b*tch out the bad calls that really makes us look like whiners...so yeah...your stadium sucks ass!!!DivotMaker wrote:I get that, but to call it a "disgrace" is pretty harsh, IMHO....dbdynsty25 wrote: It's a fun place to watch a game because it's got a good atmosphere and great amenities, but come on, a hill and a flagpole in the field of play?

I'm sorry. I'm just bitter. When you're accustomed to watching baseball played in a spacious ballpark such as Busch Stadium, it's hard to get used watching semi-deep fly balls all of a sudden go for homeruns. I know, I know...both teams are affected, not just one.
In any case, I can't help but think this wasn't how baseball was intended to be played.
Doesn't help the Cards bats have been relatively quiet. Then again, the Astros haven't actually been hitting the cover off the ball either. This has got to be the weakest offensive team the Cards have ever played in the playoffs. The Astros pitching has been lights out and if they win tonight, it's deserving. As bad as the Cards have played, the Astros have played better ball pitching wise and defensively.

The Cardinals are going to win tonight...mark it down. If the Astros are going to win this series they are going to have win it in St. Louis. I'm 100% confident that there is at least one more game at Busch Stadium.sportdan30 wrote:I'm sorry. I'm just bitter. You would have to be a Houston Astros fan to have a clue why he posted that. The Astros were ONE FKING STRIKE from the World Series and blew it. It is games like this that destroy confidence. I hope the Astros can win one at Busch, but I like most Astros fans who know the history of the team, don't like our chances.....fking unreal....dbdynsty25 wrote:What a fan.HouOilers wrote:We're done. He was last year and he did not look all that good in his last start. I am beginning to believe that there is some reason the Astros are not supposed to make it to the WS....AtXj wrote:Regardless, I just don't see the Stros losing two straight.
No doubt Roger will be called upon if their season is on the line and can he really be denied? Doubt it.
Well, that HR gives me some sort of closure from what Biggio did to my Phils down the stretch...3 run HR after 2 outs no one on. Sucked the oxygen right out of Citizens Bank Park. The dark side of me loves that Stros fans just experienced what I did (times 100). Pujols is simply a stud.

Hot damn!!!
I called that shot the moment Eck stepped into the batter's box in the ninth.
Actually, I told my wife that they were going to regret giving player of the game to Berkman, since they should save it for the guy that would actually win the game.
Incredible game! Pujols showed Berkman what a real home run looks like.
HouOilers, you have to be the most pathetic fan I have ever run across. You are giving up on the Astros with a 3-2 lead, with Oswalt and Clemens waiting in the wings.
Oh, that's right! You were rooting for the Cubs this year because the Astros were through. That's Karma, baby!
P.S. Pettite balked.

Well, at least you have been to a fking WS...at Houston's expense in 1980. Houston has this kind of thing happen EVERY FREAKING TIME. It really gets to a point of being rediculous....Diablo25 wrote:The dark side of me loves that Stros fans just experienced what I did (times 100). Pujols is simply a stud.
