Second of all, I don't like being forced to control a player I'm not comfortable with. I suggest you try and see if not using a DE solves the problem before completely taking the DL out of the equation.
Well they did try it and said it seemed better, myself and a few others (bkrich I think) play in other leagues where there is no controlling of the DL and we are telling you it makes the game better. Do you need more confirmation then 4 or 5 people who have tried it saying it helps?

I do agree with your assesment that the OL vs DL play in this game is really broken. But this one simple rule can make it a little better.
Exactly this one thing, makes things a whole lot better. Sacks are still possible, but don't come at the rate of 8-10 a game.

Hip, and I played last night, and neither one of us controlled the DL. 2 sacks total. As far as DB play being broken, if you play sound defense you can control the passing game. I held him to 5/16 passing, playing mostly vanilla zone defenses.

Anyway, without the jailbreak pass rush every play it was one of the most enjoyable online experiences I've had in a while. I think people need to measure, the need to get out of the comfort zone vs. the need to play a balanced and enjoyable game.

Dan, FYI, it says that the Jets lost connection, not you.
Oh, I know it was spooky who dropped. Actually he dropped last night when we tried to start the game, but thank god it didn't register. He logged back in and we go into the 3rd quarter and he dropped again. I was still in the lobby and he was offline so I know it was him.

I'm just saying that I will not have the time to replay it, I sent him and e-mail about it he didn't respond.

Anyway my point is I can't replay it again. He can have the win, or you can flip a coin. Whatever he wants to do.
Dan:

That was disappointing. We were having a great game too. Byron Leftwich was carving up my defense. Anyway, I don't know why my connection dropped twice last night but I played some TOCA for a good three hours after our match and everything was fine.

I'm fine with the coin flip since you were leading in this game and I was leading in the first game.

Well I appreciate that, but I am not comfortable with a coin flip. I'd rather you get the win, you are in the playoff hunt, I have no delusion that I will be.

Anyway my wife just gave me the ok to play tonight, so I could replay this game 1 more time, but it would have to be midnight again Spooky. So I will leave it like this since we are leaving for the day in about 15 minutes and I won't be home until 10 or 11 pm.

If Spooky can play at midnight and wants to replay it, then please post here and have Bill reset the game.

If he can't, then I will let Bill decide how to resolve the game, again stating that I don't think Spooky's team should be penalized.

Played my game this afternoon. I used Chad Eaton who is the left side DT for the Cowboys. I had one manual sack and Greg Ellis had one sack by the CPU. My opponent controlled various players, safeties, linebackers and even the DE a few times and I never got sacked, but like I said, I have learned to call plays that don't require holding onto the ball very long.

The bottom line is this...people that cheese, speed burst, and move their guys around will get sacks no matter who they use...those of us that don't won't.

8-10 a game?

The league leader has 14 in 3 games.

That's what the NFL sack leader (Strahan) had all of last year. Well 18, but you get the idea.

Dan - I'm up for playing at Midnight CT. Bill, please reset the game for us, hopefully for the last time.

Thanks.

Ok I am confused. I got home at 11pm last night, checked in here and I didn't see a message from Spooky.

Now this morning I see one and it is makred with todays date. So are you assuming we are playing tonight?

Since it is Sunday I would prefer 10pm if possible. Let me know what we should do.

I made my post at 12:20 AM.

OK, let's play at 10 PM CST tonight.

I was supposed to hook up with Arizona last night but he never returned my message. It's now Sunday night and I haven't heard from him. I left him a private message on the league website and on XBL.

Nice pic on the splash page there, Abner. Thanks :)

For those of you who don't read the league forum, I'm looking for a new QB. My depth is mostly at RB and WR, but I'll consider any offer. I'm not looking to make a blockbuster deal necessarily, just a functional guy.

For the record, I got on at about 12:30AM Sunday and sent a 'Ready to Play' message from the lobby, as it showed you were online in the game. I then went and played a full exhibition game and never heard anything back. Unfortunate mix-up, I guess.

This is bound to happen to everyone during the season.
