Big fun, as always, boys! Thanks. We made good progress on some areas and loot drops.

Next Tuesday! :)

Sorry, man. My oldest son's 16th birthday, so he got the Xbox at will today. I think he played Forza Horizon 3 for about five hours today and tonight. :)

I'll be out of town on vacation next Tuesday. No Xbox in Montana, so I'll be back for our regularly scheduled night Jan. 10!

Thanks.

We've been playing on Tuesday nights You wouldn't be able to join us until you play through the beginning part. When you get to the main base in NYC the game opens up. It would also help if you leveled up a bit, we are around 12 now. Before next Tuesday we can join up and run some missions if you like. I've also had mostly good luck playing with randoms, even added some guys I've played with to my friends list. You can also have fun running missions solo at your own pace

Okay, Pete. I'm game. Haven't played a while lot, but leveled up a couple times. Just send me an invite any night (around 9:30 central) and I should be able to go a bit. Game is fun!

I fired this up for the first time last night and had a blast for the hour or so I played it. I ended up by myself for the police precinct mission and could not get pass the boss on the rooftop. Ugh! Definitely need help with that one. Great fun trying though.

My New Years resolution is to play more on XBOX Live this year. It has been quite a few years since I have been active. I am finishing a masters degree in June and it will free up a ton of time the 2nd half of the year.

I also need to figure my mic out. I can't hear anyone talk. :(

Unfortunately that's all the tutorial and only other players in the tutorial can join you. I'm sure we can do something about it though.

Right on! We may need to split into two groups on Tuesday nights now. Our regular Division lineup is:

Dan
Terry
Pete
Teal
Piggy
Me

Am I missing anyone? Bill (Diablo)?

It's too bad we can't all play together, as there are four players per co-op team, correct? But we could split into two groups of three, with a different rotation of players every week. I think Dan, Terry and Pete should be "captains" of teams every week, as they have played through the game before and are very good and very knowledgeable about the maps, loot drops, bosses.

I have LOVED this game since the first day I played it, in November after the transformative 1.4 patch. But playing with Terry, Dan and Pete has raised the enjoyment level by a measure of 10. Those cats know this game. They have provided so many fun little tips, such as tearing down extra gear for crafting points instead of selling it, keeping a lean, mean kit instead of stockpiling gear, etc.

The Division was my Game of the Year in 2016. The biggest surprise for me, too, as the Internet criticism before the 1.4 patch was pretty fierce. I didn't expect much when I bought it for $14 at Gamefly, but this game has blown my mind.

P.S.: I'm in Montana until Wednesday this week, so I'll be out for The Division this Tuesday. I'll be back next week!

Debrief from last night.

Pete was tired so he wasn't able to play. Teal showed up so Terry had a low level guy and ran him through the ropes. I was too lazy to start a new guy, more just didn't want to do the begining crap again so I sat out.

So next week we may have 5 which is a bad number, it would help if we could get to 6 and also if everyone was around 11-13 level. Just throwing it out there to give notice. While I don't see myself stopping The Division anytime soon, March will be here before you know it and then Ghosts!

BIG thanks to Terry for running me through the paces. When he joined me, I had wandered into an area I had no business being in (levels above where I was) and I was getting hammered hard. Terry schooled me on loot drops, tactics, and helped me understand that I was playing a sho' nuff RPG, whereas I was playing it as a shooter...and dying a LOT...lol. The biggest contribution was showing me how to 'break down' items, rather than selling them, to create new items (especially the sweet new gun I have now...holy cow).

This game just got much more fun as a result. Looking forward to more of this one with you fellers.

Re: Tom Clancy's The Division

I'm really glad it helped, man! And yeah, the game is definitely weird at first, as it's not-quite-a-shooter, not-quite-an-RPG. But once you come to grips with its systems, it's pretty good at both. The early hours are just so tough with crappy weapons and no skills. You want to play it like a shooter, but you don't realize at the time that it's really just crunching numbers as an RPG. So you end up emptying clips of ammo into bullet sponge enemies, or spraying inaccurate bursts all over with a weapon that's not very good.

It really gets much better as you go, though. The missions get significantly more difficult around level 16 or so, though.

Teal and I had big fun last night playing The Division. First time we've played a shooter together online in probably three years. What magic, wasting all those d-bags!

Again! Soon!

What? You guys played OUTSIDE of regular Tuesday?

I wish I would have known...the wife took over my XBox to watch a Twilight Marathon with our teenage daughter. That's one thing I hate about purchasing movies through the Microsoft store...even though GAMES work on my "home XBox", movies don't. They're tied strictly to account, which is bullsh*t.

I'd have kicked them off had I known somebody was playing The Division
