As for the UI design Spooky speaks of...yeah, the waypoint system is terrible, but I find getting to the map and waiting for it to load via the start menu is WAY more bothersome. It's just so damn slow. Forza Horizon, Test Drive Unlimited...those guys do it right. Not to mention, the navigation portion is a lot cleaner as well.

Yes, it's just pulling the left trigger.

Just checked that, it's under settings - display - weapon target - and then change it from simple to complex and you get the circle around the dot, makes it a lot better.

I picked up a copy yesterday at Gamestop. In front of me is a Mother with what looked like a 12 year old son (at the oldest) .. Mom to clerk. "We are here to pick up a game for my son... Grand Theft Auto"

Some further thoughts after 10 hours of gameplay yesterday.

- I wish cars would crumple a bit more in really high speed collisions. I understand the design decision - to keep the action moving - but I would still like to see more carnage.

- LOVE the character swapping mechanic. Very well done.

- Very happy with the coverage system and auto-lock on. Means an old fart like me can still have a moderate amount of success.

- Now that the cops have a sight-range indicator on the mini-map, it makes for a fun game of cat and mouse when you are on the run.

- This is going to be a lot of fun in multi-player!!!!

So Michael has a side mission that involves smoking a joint.

One of the funniest moments in gaming. Just a riot.

That was hilarious. I blaze with my characters every chance I get, especially Franklin when he gets home. :)

So, do you mean you make THEM smoke, or you smoke WITH them?

Never mind, I'm sure it's both...

GTA V earned $800 million in revenues in its first 24 hours on sale. Largest single-day gross in gaming history.

Yeah that's pretty impressive. It was projected that 1 month sales would be at $1 billion. Hopefully they can take some of that money and make a College Football game.

And we will find out, once and for all, why DSP cannot stand for "Done Swearing, Paul?" lol

Hell, it won't be able to mean "Done Speaking, Paul?" or "Done Shouting, Paul?", either...

There is a crew heirachy: Commissioner, Lieutenant, Representative and Muscle.

If possible I would like to have all DSP members in as Lieutenants and would be happy to promote anyone here interested as co-commissioners.

Anyone else interested in joining, set up or access your Rockstar Social Club account at http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/ and add me (Pete1210) there as a friend.
Although I won't be getting the game until Oct 1st, I requested an invite with name bulls2323 (bulls23 was taken).

Thanks, looking forward to online!

Man I hate to say this but the game is making me queasy. The only other game to ever do this to me was Uncharted 2 and I was never able to finish it. I'm actually enjoying a GTA game for once but something about he movement is making me ill.

I'll have to keep my sessions to an hour and see if that helps.

I have my camera at the closest it can get to the character, and the camera bounces just a bit behind them, I think. Maybe pull the camera back away from them and see if that helps? Dunno.

I'm having a similar issue and my eyes having to bounce back and fourth from that mini-map adds to it.

Also - I'm really not sure if I am enjoying this game. I am still very early on but it's giving me much of that "same 'ol' feeling. Combat is wonky and missions are boring to me. Last night I played for an hour and did three missions. As Michael - One was ride a back on the boardwalk with his son and the other was escape bad guys on a jet ski with his daughter. The one for Franklin was chase some dude and open train car doors with a dogs help. I was really bored.

Thunderstorm in the desert.....absolutely jaw dropping visuals.

I finally was able to save photos taken on the in-game camera phone. The Rockstar Social Club site is borked.

Yessir. Awesome, combined with the strong rumble in the controller for the thunder. Just...wow.

Last night I watched some TV, some singing competition and Power Ballad is my new favorite song and it's so not GAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

Then I hung out at the strip club. The went to the movies with Michael, movie was bad. Then I went for drinks with him and we got plastered.

Somewhere in there I went with Lamar and shoot about 30 people with a shot gun.

When I was done I didn't feel that accomplished and was amazed how much time that all took.

Am I really getting the most out of my sessions with Dr. Friedlander if I steal his Ferrari when I leave?

Having a lot of fun with this one. I took a few years off from GTA but it's good to be back!

When I just tried to invite you again it says, "Drop Shot Posse This user has already been invited to join this Crew." I sent you a friends request there, so maybe I can try to send another invite through the friends list.
I have read that the Rockstar Social Club site is having some issues. Hopefully they'll get it straight by 10/1.

Just a reminder - Anyone here at DSP should be able to send invites or accept requests to join our Crew. So far we are 15 members strong!
