Still not working 100%, had to go back to the RB bass pedal.

But I'm determined that I want to use my real bass pedal. I/m hitting up radio shack (called "The Source" up here) to buy a switch (a magnetic switch like what they use on home alarms) and a 1/8" mono cable that I'll wire up into my bass pedal. Thanks to scorehero forums. Hope this works.

Woohoo! Real bass pedal (and potentially double bass which I might try in the future) working very reliably now. See my post on scorehero if you are interested (I'm ringmar there)

Have you guys seen the prototype ION drums yet? No price or availability info yet, but they are quiet and give more of a drum set feel. There is a video of them here...

I swore up and down that I wouldn't be one of the people who spent 170 on RB. However, being I have a little bit extra left over from Christmas and my last paycheck, I'll be getting a copy for PS3 tomorrow (well later on today). The only bad thing about it is that it'll probably be just me playing it, but hopefully I can find some people online.

If any of you guys that are playing Rock Band and letting Guitar Hero 3 collect dust in the corner want to sell your GH3 (360) send me a pm.
I am having a hard time finding it in stock near me.

Pretty cool, but I'm worried about what the price will be, and that looks awful big in the living room. Not sure the lady of the apartment will approve, even though she plays quite a bit of Rock Band herself.

Here's the most impressive amateur mod I've seen: http://www.otronicon.org/InDash_Display.aspx?PGID=440

No, I definitley am. I just don't want 2 guitars floating around and am trying to figure out the best way to do this. I am thinking of getting GH3, with the wireless LP guitar and then getting the Rock Band game by itself and then get the drums by itself. The fact that you can't use the RB Guitar with Guitar Hero is just crazy to me. I am waiting for that situation to be corrected somehow.

I love GH and also know that separate (hopefully better) peripherals for RB are coming out soon. That is what is holding me from pulling the trigger right now.

I really like Rock Band. I really really like Rock Band.

But I still can't see myself spending $100 on this:

Got my replacement guitar from EA. That was pretty easy. They sent a brand new one 2-day UPS with detailed instructions on how to package the old one back up and send it back at no charge.

The new guitar works fine, it picks up all of my strums now, but I still like the feel of the GH2 strum better. I do like the frets MUCH better on the Rock Band strat though, it's much easier to slide around rather than hit big buttons.

That's EXACTLY what James said in the GH3 thread. Seems like there is no clear cut winner when talking about the guitars for RB & GH.

That's weird I like the feel of the RB strum way better. I like the fact that it doesn't click like GH. It makes it feel much more natural to me.

Was playing it this week. GH on medium seems like RB on hard.

My guitar is back today...Looks like a new replacement.

I used the slow method and the whole thing only took a lil over two weeks as I made My request on 12/26 and that was over New Years so I think its a pretty good turn around....

They sent the new one back to me 2nd day air and I didnt have to give them a cc number.

whats to check out? Nothing that you can't do on your own or that has not been posted by a few of us that have already done it to ours.

I have been reading more and more good things about the gum rubber mods.

Jack, just go buy the F'n game. Quit ANALyzing it! You have a guitar hero Xplorer right? Go get the whole thing and have two guitars and have the drums NOW. Why wait and pay just as much?

You have posted more than anyone in this thread and don't even have the game LOL!

The guitar with the rock band package is good because of the neck buttons for soloing (only really important on Expert, but still) and the effect selector switch. Nice to be able to customize your sound a little bit.
