Had my first high scoring, high hitting game. Lost to ASU 8-5, but they had 16 hits and I had 13. Fun game, seems like there is more hit variety than MVP 2005 had. I love knowing the CPU (or yourself for that matter) can bring in a reliever and you still have a good chance of getting hits.

Decided to start my season, won my first game 3-0 behind good pitching and defense. I still love the classic batting and fielding though. :)

Man, I'm still loving this game.

I'm using classic batting and fielding and here's all I've changed via sliders:

AA

Pitching meter difficulty (-50)
baserunning speed (+5)
CPU baserunning agression (+5)

No K zone
Hot/Cold on Fade
Cursor on Fade
No vibration

That's really it and I've been having all types of scores.

For a game that you just turn on and have fun, this has been all that and a bag of chips. I'm sure something like MLB the Show will put this game to bed somewhat, but right now it's quite fun.

same here! I turn off pitching cursor so I cant pinpoint
my pitches so much. I am playing on Varsity level as
Fla Gators and am thinking about jumping up to AA level.
I am just hitting too many HR's at this level.....about 4 or
so per game and some are rediculously long. I have the power
slider at default.

I think that overall the hit variety is good, but is anyone else seeing a disproportionate amount of base hits up the middle?

I just get the feeling with this game and EA baseball games in general (Triple Play included) that if I am not aiming my hit somewhere, it will go straight an unreasonable amount of times.

Good point....EA seems to treat the pull swing as something that the user really has to strive for by swinging quite early. When in reality, most hitters pull the ball pretty naturally.

Actually I haven't yet... seems like the pitcher does get to a lot of them though.

Anyone else still playing this game? I'm really getting back into it. Finally had to give in and turn off load & fire hitting, I just stunk at it. The game's a lot more fun when you can hit.

Just bought this game a few days ago...Incredible.

Right now, I'm in baseball heaven- not quite good enough to master the pitching meter, resulting in very realistic performances. Also, the load and fire is very challenging....meaning it really represents hitting overall. Hopefully, I'll get the hang of it. Managed to score 4 runs on AA with some sliders posted at OS- so far so good. Lots of K's though.

As far as fielding goes, I'm sticking with classic- It's still quite rewarding to hit the meter at the exact right spot. Using the stick doesn't enhance much for me.

I also like learning about new players. Rather than looking at a virtual representation of big-leaguers I know quite well, I really feel like each player in NCAA is truly authentic- just a virtual character in a game- not sure if that makes sense.

Can't believe I waited so long to pick this one up.

I hope that EA is working on this game for the 360 next year. I really enjoyed my time with this game and liked it a lot better than the MLB version of MVP. The strategy of playing a series with college players and dealing with tired arms makes it a lot of fun.

What setting are you on to get the tired arms for your pitchers?
