Well, knowing the rest of the 7/10 community, that will not work. All it will do is separate the discussion and then everyone has to read two threads on the same sh*t. Don't you agree with that?
If one of them is ruined and they end up talking sh*t about me, I don't care. At least it prevents two threads on the same exact topic from starting and continuing, thus making the 3/10 community (you are included in that part by the way scoop) not have to sift through two threads discussing the same sh*t.

I play a little guitar, so in my expert opinion
I would say that Guitar Hero is sort of like playing guitar and sort of not. If you are a good guitar player, you might catch on quickly to the game, but I have some friends with ZERO musical ability and they were nailing some of the easier songs after a little practice.
If you like guitar music, I think it's a must-have. It reminds me of Crazy Taxi in the sense that the same levels were fun to play over and over again, just for the sheer fun of it, or to try to top your high scores. I was going to pick up another guitar to play against friends, and I'm sure that will add even more to the experience.
The definition of a pick-up-and play game for me and just about the most replay value I've ever seen in a game.

Got this as a birthday gift last week, and I have been playing everyday! It is one of the best music/rhythm games, the guitar controller really makes it special and the song list is great and fairly well done (for the most part). I love the special moves you have to master in order to get better but easy is accessible for almost everyone. Definitely a keeper and I look forward to a sequel (hopefully).

I just got this and I think it's a blast, though I do think it's very similar to the fun I have had with other rhythm games of the past. Maybe it's getting more praise because lots of people secretly want to be rock stars.
I equate it to the fun I had with Samba D'Amigo, for instance, but I suppose I can't really argue the fact that playing the guitar is considered to be cooler than shaking maracas....
How does two player work? Do you each play the same notes, the same track?

From what I've seen of 2-player, you don't just play the same thing. It depends on the song. I guess on some parts, you play the same guitar line, but for the most part, one guy is playing rhythm, while one is playing lead. Or if there are two guitar lines going at ones, each player takes a different part.
I heard that playing with a friend adds a lot more to the game.

That sounds really cool.AJColossal wrote:From what I've seen of 2-player, you don't just play the same thing. It depends on the song. Still looking for an extra controller? You can find them here at Red Octane's site: http://www.redoctane.com/gh-sgcontroller.html

I ordered one at EB's website no problem.
One minor correction about what I said earlier about multiplayer. I misspoke when I said one guy plays rhythm while one plays lead. You're mostly taking turns playing the same lines from the single player version, as far as I can tell, although sometimes you play the same line together. It would have been really cool if you both played different parts that would interlock together, a la rhythm and lead. Oh well, would be nice for GH2.
Minor complaint aside, it's a blast and adds a lot more replay value to a game that had tons to begin with.
Please, if anyone is even remotely interested, I urge them to get this game!

I finally got to try this at Best Buy the other day. It is lots of fun, but whats with those big, plastic colored buttons on the guitar? They look and feel like they came from some Fischer Price toy. Why couldn't they make the buttons a little smaller and easier to push? That is my only beef with the game.
And the controller should have been based on the Fender Stratocaster.JackB1 wrote:I finally got to try this at Best Buy the other day.
