I don't turn on my console much except to play lego Star Wars or spyro with my kid, but I am pretty hooked on Guild Wars and Star Wars galaxies on PC.

I never get that response when I tell you guys I'm headed to Chicago. Some buddies! Geeez. Can't even do me a favor and be a nice diversion from the crazed mother-in-law! 8O

I know, I know. I thought about it especially once I got to the parking lot for the game, but didn't really have internet access up there, and, well. . . there's no excuse.

Sorry! Next time!

Maybe I'll come up when the Mets are . . . oh yeah, they already made their one trip. Or how 'bout when the Skins play. . . oops, this year the seemingly annual Bears game is in D.C.

Phantom Dust is an excellent game. For $20 or less, I highly recommend some of you checking it out. I've already named it Sleeper Hit of 2005.

Matt, I am like you. I've dramatically cut back my game buying the last couple months, and have gotten back into some older titles. I doubt I'll buy 3 more games for the Xbox the rest of the year.

This is usually a pretty slow time of year. Even my MVP playing has slowed down. There's usually not as many good games, the weather's nice, there's meat to grill and beer to drink, etc.

However, I'm still playing at least a few hours a week. It will probably stay pretty slow until the new football games hit.

 How you know?? 8)

Seriously, Phantom Dust is an amazing game, and at $20, it is a steal. Of course, it is not for everyone but I think it is one of those titles that really sum up this generation of gaming. It has some amazing art, a very cool set design/world, and it successfully combine card-battling/collecting with real-time Dragon Ball Z type gameplay (imagine flying around and throwing fireballs at each other). The icing of the cake is the fully destructible environment and you can trade online only skills. The only downside, IMO, is that the 2 main characters look really weird (like David Bowie!) and it might turn off some people.

Now the only problem is that I don't have XBL so I can't even try the online portion.

Coincidentally, this game is by the same guy who did Panzer Dragoon series, and a little known PS2 gem called Ring of Red. If you like action games and a fan of strategy type games (you design your own 'deck' of battle techniques), you should try it.

Okay, enough of me babbling about this game.

I'm in the same "lull" if you will. It's nice outside, work is busy, game releases are few and far between, etc..

I'm waiting on EHM and OOTP 6.5 until I'm really back into gaming.. one game a night with MVP on the psp is about all I can handle until I'm ready for bed right now. :)

I think its the time of year--esp here in Upstate NY. The weather is finally nice so my time spent gaming is now used to pursue other interests such as golf, golf, golf, road races and yardwork.

For example--I am still really into MVP and today I thought Id get a game or two in. Instead the opportunity arose to play 18 and then tonight my wife and I took our 2yo to his first baseball game (AAA-Syracuse) as it was an absolutely beautiful night to be outside. Thus, no gaming.

For what its worth-all my years of going to baseball games and I could never catch a foul ball or have a player give one to me (though I havent "tried" since I was a teenager). Anyway, my sons first game and he gets two!! Both times players caught a 3rd out and flipped him the ball coming off the field without any begging/asking on our part. Of course as he is only 2--both times he tried to throw it back.

Maybe I should go videotape the PK bash this weekend as its just 5 miles away. 40--wow an old man!!!!

Still, I can't say weather or longer days are a factor for me. I don't start gaming until 9:30 or 10 p.m., regardless of weather or season. I have fallen asleep earlier the last two nights, though, as I'm beat from 21 consecutive days of intense grinding at Indy. I think my last day off was May 1.

That's why my 40th birthday blowout this Saturday at the house should be epic! Pure hedonism, with around 80 people expected, a keg, bonfire, hopefully late-night nudity in the pool, etc., etc.

40-Stock is what I'm calling it already. :)

Take care,
PK
Clean the sand out of yer taco you p***y :)

I'm in the same boat...I've just been mucho busy with work. By the time I get done, I'm too tired to do anything.

I was a c*** hair away from coming to your gayblade sausage fest of a party. The frau said I could go, but I just couldn't leave the fam. You guys should take a vacation out here...Elkhart Lake isn't very far away :D

Hey, there will be plenty of broads here, including your older sister, you dick! Your father, Sue and Bill, Dave and Michelle, and John and Linda are coming with their kids. That alone should ensure a visit from the State Troopers at some point during the night. :)

Seriously, the dame quotient should be good. Too bad for the single fellas that nearly all of them are married ...

Take care,

I have to say, PK, you don't sound 40 on XBL :D

Have a good birthday. I'll keep an eye out for the arrest documents on The Smoking Gun.

40 on the birth certificate; 17 on the brain. What can I say? :)

Maybe I'll make a video of the party and send it to the 49ers PR department for use as a training film. :)
