Forza appeals to a certain type of gamer. One in which you and I aren't Tim. We really do not have a basis for an argument against it other than it just doesn't appeal to either of us. It obviously has a huge following.
Would I rather play Forza over Toca 2? Not a chance. Would I rather play Toca 2 and/or Forza over Burnout 3? That's a big NO. I'm an arcade racer. Sims just don't appeal to me as much. Heck, I'd rather play RC Pro Am over Forza. That's just me.

Almost pretty much agree with you Dan except that I love Toca 2. It's my racing game of choice and I would much rather play Toca 2 than Burnout 3 but I do love Burnout 3. I just found Toca 2 to be a better and funner game than Forza. I cannot wait for Toca 3.sportdan30 wrote:Forza appeals to a certain type of gamer. One in which you and I aren't Tim. Toca 2 is definitely sim but it feels much faster and looks a lot better than Forza. I believe Forza only runs at 30fps while Toca 2 runs at 60fps. I played them back and forth after I got Forza and this was after Toca had been sitting on the shelf for awhile. Forza really made me appreciate Toca2.jLp vAkEr0 wrote:Is Toca as "sim-like" as Forza?
I tried Forza a couple of days ago and couldn't get in to it. Way too much realisim for me.
I'm an arcade racer all the way.

another game I regret selling off, Toca2.
How can you explain Toca2? Well, the best way is it plays like a old school racing game but isn't really too much of a hardcore sim. It doesn't try to be a sim but also doesn't try to be all arcade, it's somewhere in the middle. It's just a very fun game that reminds of you of fun racing games from the past.
Bo3: I dont know why I ever sold this game now that I've been playing it. I've lost a few hours of sleep this week as well. I still can't get the gold on the preview lap in the US map. It's very fun to try over and over again to get golds in this game. I still haven't even raced on the other continents.

You can order TOCA 2 / CMR 04 bundle from Walmart and Target for like 19.99 if you're interested.
It's what I did when I regretted dumping TOCA 2 myself.
Thanks for the info. I still have all my Toca2 stuff saved on my Xbox HD (I think I only completed like 40 percent of the game). I remember how challenging some of those cars and levels were and took me a good few days to pass. I think I'll just erase all that and start over.
I never played the CMR games. I only read that you don't actually race anyone. How would you rate CMR? Too sim?
I can play these games forever. I won't be buying any of the next gen systems soon so buying these games back at these bargain prices is pretty cool. While we're at it, this is my greatest hits list for xbox:
Burnout3
Links - Still have this game and still love it
Ghost Recon 1 - need to rebuy
Toca 2 - will buy
MVP05
Crimson Skies (online)
NFL2k4
Any others you guys recommend?

CMR is a steal at that price. It's a great compliment to TOCA. It's a rally sim so you're only competing against the clock and yourself.Weaver2005 wrote:I never played the CMR games. I only read that you don't actually race anyone. How would you rate CMR? Too sim?
The physics model is much better than the floaty physics of the rally events in TOCA, which are among the weakest in that game.
I bought Forza and played it quite a bit but there was just something about it that didn't grab me like alot of other racing games.dbdynsty25 wrote:They can prepare all they want...if they don't play D, they ain't gonna win. Nice try though.
