And then you got the Braves...probably dead last in every offensive category except lesbian encounters by Andruw Jones...damn, that sounds like a good book title.

Let's take the home field advantage away, because Philly is not that good.

That isn't really correct, either, as an absolute measure of how good a team's hitters are. For example, you are counting the Angels' runs in Texas' ballpark, but not Texas' runs in Texas' ballpark. Also, hitters don't have to face their own pitchers, so 2 equally good hitters could have different numbers because batter #1 is on a team with great pitchers that only batter #2 has to face.

In any case, I think it's much simpler just to count team runs. I mean, that's what this is about, who's going to score the most runs, not who has the highest-rated players.

Personally, I would rather know which team may score more runs in a given game. You are absolutely correct about just counting away games as not perfect, but it is much closer than counting all games.

Mostly, I was just interestested in seeing how Phlly did, because I know their new stadium is a joke. Look at how drastically worse their pitchers are at home as well. At least the Rockies can blame, well, the Rockies for their home field abberation.

The Astros score significantly more at home, but their pitchers are also significantly better there.
