Updated High Heat rosters for Xbox!
Moderators: Bill_Abner, ScoopBrady
The Xbox rosters are pretty darn good. I simmed a season today and the stats were as believable as any other game. I noticed a few guys with very high error totals, but everything else was believable. The playoff teams were Boston, NYY, Cleveland (87 wins in a tight division), Anaheim, Atlanta, St. Louis, SF, and LA. I took a deep look at the Pirates' stats and everything seemed good. Jason Bay had a very good season. Oliver Perez had a high ERA around 4.5, but his strikeouts and hits/walks allowed were spot on. I think they finished 76-86.
I put the simulation slider at 7 and I've been playing random games. It just seems like the pitchers throw more balls than at default simulation. I've also been using the Low zoomed camera. I usually switch the camera to Low, but the pitch movement looks a lot more realistic when the camera is zoomed IMO.

Leebs,
The sim slider doesn't have any effect on balls. Basically it only affects the user input on swings. The higher the slider the less your aim matters. Raising the pitch sim slider should lead to more balls on breaking pitches, however. This slider affects the comparative difficulty of throwing fastballs and breaking stuff for strikes.

But if you need any help, just holla. I've got most of the transactions done for this season if you want me to send you my save file you can start from there if you want to be 100% accurate.
what rosters are keeping updated? 3DO, Pudge rosters or some other?

I've been using the changes you suggested recently in another thread. I'm probably just getting more patient at the plate as I get used to the game again and thought it had to do with the sim slider.snate wrote:Leebs,

I had my PC version sitting here, so I installed it. Got the Tune file from millennium, the updated rosters, sliders, dl'd some stadiums, a new overlay etc etc.
Just the basic must haves. Didn't go out and get DangerZ's editor again yet and do any of that stuff.
Anyway, I'm just not in the mood for baseball right now. Can't feel it yet. Maybe it's because we're currently late into the NFL playoffs, or the fact that I know the rosters will change 800 times between now and opening day. Or maybe it's the fact that the Colorado Rockies Owner and GM don't give a s*** about putting a product on the field so why should I care about baseball?

If you read one of the threads over at theperfectgame, apparently the original authors of the rosters had some issues with them being used for the Xbox. Basically, some guy took the PC rosters done by Pudge and somemother guy and then found a way to convert them for the Xbox. After posting them, Pudge and the other guy at first did not like this idea.
Personally, what's the big deal? The guy that did the conversion wasn't asking for any $$$, and it's not like Pudge's rosters are a product you can buy in the store. I do't get why some people who make mods supposedly for the love of the game and the benefit of the community whould take offense to someone taking thier work and using it to benefit Xbox users.
