I will not watch another NY Giants game as it is a complete waste of three hours! Manning is no better than a third string quarterback.

Take that NFL! Stop broadcasting the f'n Giants games here in St. Louis! Warner is not even the starter anymore!

I will get Madden 2006 in August unless they raise their prices and enforce Premium Pass accounts to play online. This year, they do have web-based leagues (which is really limited with no player stats and very limited league management options) but you have to give up a credit card number.

Then, next August, unless they could get another sponsorship, they will charge $20 a month. No joke! They are confident they say that they could get sponsorship.

But I haven't given up my CC because there's no benefit right now.

The interesting thing will be when Xbox 2 launches, probably in Nov. or August. The machine itself may be attractive, especially since it will have been 5 years since I bought a console. But if EA slaps some BS "premium pricing" above $50 for it, then no sale. And the experience would have to be a huge upgrade for me to sign on to an XBL scheme.

The key is if the players in the leagues I'm in and others I've played online adopt the new system right away. I stayed with the PC version of Madden until Madden 2003 when it went online on the PS2. I would guess a lot of guys would continue to play on the current consoles, at least until fall of 2006 or so, because they will get the game in August for the current consoles.

As someone so simply yet elogantly stated on another board:

"boycotting EA makes me feel better, i don't give two ****s if it doens't hurt their bottom line."

That's exactly how I feel.
