If I'm a Michigan fan, I'm pretty happy about the present and drooling over the future. Is there a better true freshman backfield tandem in the country right now than Henne and Hart at QB and tailback for Michigan?
Henne throws for 315 yards and leads Michigan on the winning drive against Minnesota, and my boy Hart runs for 161 yards and a score.
Braylon Edwards also is awesome -- a sure first-rounder in the draft next spring. If Michigan had a Division I-A secondary instead of the I-AA or Division II pretenders it sends out every week, it might be a damn good team. I think the Michigan secondary might not be able to sit down for a week -- its collective ass was burned so badly by Minnesota.
My Syracuse came oh, so close to beating Florida State. I was less than impressed with FSU. Other than team speed and some decent running backs, it's not that great. Sexton sucks, and the defense can't be that good if SU quarterback Perry Patterson ripped it up pretty good.
Both the Michigan-Minnesota and FSU-Syracuse games were damn good games. Well worth an hour each on my DVR.
Oh, and yes, I'm much more into college football this year than in the past, thanks to the DVR. I can fit a lot more football into my spare time when it only takes an hour to watch a game!
Take care,
PK

The only time the DVR is running at normal speed is from snap to whistle. I fast-forward between all plays, through all time outs, extra points, commercials and halftime, and it takes approximately 55-60 minutes to watch an entire NFL or college game. I don't miss a single play.fsquid wrote:only takes an hour?? You just watch the last quarter?
I don't miss a thing skipping the commentary, pretty telling about the piss-poor quality of football announcers in the U.S.
Take care,
PK

"I guess Aururn(sic) might be the real deal in the SEC."
They might be, and I sure hope they are. But I'm not ready to put on my SEC champion-BCS hat just yet. We've still gotta play Georgia (albeit on our home turf), probably twice, and if not, then we'll get Tenn a second time. We saw what a team we beat the snot out of last week can come in and do to a #3, so I'm not going to get confident yet. I'm cautiously optimistic, let's just put it that way...
Of course, we'll have to get around the BCS bias even if all else goes our way...BCS...Big Crock of S#$%t...

Then you're missing the most important part, what the QB is thinking at a particular moment! Or what the coach must be thinking, or what he should've done. How can you skip all that important info?!?

I must admit that I pressed play during Alex Flanagan's sideline reports during the SU-Florida State game on ESPN2. I could care less what she had to say, but she is HOT. I'd rather see her at normal speed than 16X or 32X speed.
Take care,
PK

See the 2000 schedule (Championship year) and see if you can find a few similarities.fsquid wrote:On a side note, when is Oklahoma going to play a road game?

It's either go with you to the game or take a hot sharp poker and stab myself in the eyes repeatedly. Let me get back to you when I make up my mind.C'mon Brent, I have an extra ticket to Memphis-Tulane, I'm sure you want to watch that!
I was also surprised they let Sean McDonough do the play-by-play for that game considering he is a Syracuse grad and constantly brags about them during his Red Sox telecasts. However, he did a good job not sounding biased.pk500 wrote:Teal:

I was surprised, too, but there are a lot of SU grads among the national broadcasting corps. Still, McDonough was a bit over the top in his siding with Syracuse on some questionable calls, especially the muffed kick return that the refs called a touchback instead of a safety. It was a f*cking safety, not a touchback, though -- the refs blew it.Parker wrote:I was also surprised they let Sean McDonough do the play-by-play for that game considering he is a Syracuse grad and constantly brags about them during his Red Sox telecasts. Nope, usually one tough non conference game a year is all they want. Oregon was supposed to be the tough team this year I guess? Big 12 is tough enough as it is, then you add a conference championship and you just are not wise to schedule a tough non conference schedule. This is big boy football, not that BCS Callenged football they play in the C-USA.
I checked the AP poll and Texas A&M is now ranked. Once Tech beats Texas they will be ranked also. Everyone in the Big 12 South but Baylor will have been ranked. As for the BIG 12 North, they blow, we are talking Mid Major conference quality. Okay now I am just exaggerating.fsquid wrote:yea, that Big 12 North, Baylor, and A&M are just downright scary.Big 12 is tough enough as it is, then you add a conference championship and you just are not wise to schedule a tough non conference schedule.
You big tough guy with your big bad moderating stick.
My guess is ever since they Utah game they have gone undefeated. They are #23 in the AP poll. Heck they are even higher then #24 undefeated So Miss if you can believe that. Of course So Miss did play a pretty shoddy game against Houston.fsquid wrote:A&M is ranked now?? how the heck did that happen?

Gee as if I did not make it obvious. Just had to see what those Corhusher fans were saying after the slaughter. I see the Everything Else forum still makes the romper room look like a Mensa Meeting.
Of course you did not have to ban me as I was inconsipcuous enough to the average users. Gotta love the Jr Mods though.
