First of all let me say, that I haven't touched this game since Madden came out. Yeah, that's my fault, but it's no big deal because I don't expect to win in this league anyway. The only reason I signed up was to have some fun with my fellow DSPers and what I get in my very first game is a truckload of Vick cheeser and a guy that runs the score up.
I thought we discussed this and we all agreed that running up the score is not acceptable.
Here's the deal. Since I don't play this game at all, I have no clue how to spy the qb, so this guy runs 11 times with Vick for over 100 yards. If I would have known how to spy I would have done it the whole game. I only blame myself for that, but I do remember a discussion about running with qbs too much too.
Anyway, here's the deal: It's 17-7 his way with 2:00 to go. I have picked him twice already so you'd think the smart thing to do would be to run some clock, but the dude comes out passing right away. He moved the ball and I used all 3 of my timeouts and he gets a first down effectively ending the game. I assume the guy is going to kneel or run the ball up the middle so I just called goal line defense. Of course, I have no one in pass coverage. Imagine my horror when the asshole drops back and throws a TD to an uncovered receiver with 53 seconds to go.
He didn't have a mike so I couldn't say anything to him but I came real close to quitting. If this is the kind of sh*t I have to deal with, give my team to someone else.
I thought you could at least escape this bullsh*t in a league.

Just so you know, I cut and pasted this from the play by play. Keep in mind, I had just scored making it 17-7. I kicked it deep as opposed to onside hoping to hold him and force a punt. Here's the sequence:
2:37 Kickoff returned by Brian Finneran (ATL) for 18 yards (Reeves)
2:33 1-10 at ATL 19. Michael Vick (ATL) ran left side for 7 yards (Dixon)
I took my first timeout here.
2:20 2-3 at ATL 26. Michael Vick (ATL) pass across the middle complete to Alge Crumpler (ATL) for 10 yards (Newman, Dixon)
I took my second timeout here. Notice the next two plays are pass plays and he hurries and calls his play at the 2:15 mark so he can squeeze another pass in before the 2:00 warning.
2:15 1-10 at ATL 36. Michael Vick (ATL) pass across the middle complete to Brian Finneran (ATL) for 11 yards (Williams)
2:00 1-10 at ATL 47. Michael Vick (ATL) pass left side complete to Peerless Price (ATL) for 16 yards (Williams, Hunter)
1:46 1-10 at DAL 37. Michael Vick (ATL) ran right side for 14 yards (Coakley)
I took my last timeout here, but if you notice, he's passing on every play. At this point, the game is over and I am out of timeouts.
1:34 1-10 at DAL 23. Warrick Dunn (ATL) ran up middle for 2 yards (Eaton, Nguyen)
He finally runs the ball and I'm thinking he's finally got some sense and has decided to finish the game off like he should. So I just chose goalline defense for my next play. He sees I am in goal line and audibles into this:
1:14 2-8 at DAL 21. Michael Vick (ATL) pass left side complete to Peerless Price (ATL) for 20 yards. TOUCHDOWN!
0:53 Try: Extra Pt by Jay Feely (ATL) is good
This guy has no business in this league. He's either a huge asshole or doesn't begin to understand the spirit of the game. Also, he didn't have a headset. I tried talking to him at the beginning and he never talked. I think it should be a prerequisite to have a headset to play in this league. With no headset and the way he played, this felt more like a random game than any league game.

Come on BG...lighten up man. You always go off the deep end when even the hint of cheese or a lack of class show up. It's for fun...have fun man...you go wooped. So what, move on to the next game. 11 rushes from Vick...umm, how many did he have last week in real life?
9 for 68 yards (week 3)
12 for 109 yards (week 2)
Those are pretty much right in line with his "video game" line score aren't they? I can understand getting ticked about the last attempt at scoring but really...is it that big of a deal that you need to run around on two message boards like a little girl announcing that the guy did you wrong?
Seriously man...if you're going to take it that personal...enjoy your life and move on, because I don't think this league needs that kind of headache nor does it want to send you into an emotional state that may be hazardous to your and your families health. It'll be okay.
BTW...its me and you next. You know I'm gonna run up the score now.

He may have run that many times in real life but compare the number of plays in real life to this video game. 11 times is WAY to high a percentage to number of plays.
We all know there is faulty logic when it comes to qb's running and can be easily abused.
Running up the score is just pathetic. I gotta side with BG on this. The Atlanta guy sounds like a total tool.

You know db, everytime I make any kind of post, you're usually the first person in line to disagree with me. Most of your posts are scathing and unfriendly so I don't know whether you simply don't like me or what, but it really doesn't make a sh*t to me.dbdynsty25 wrote:Come on BG...lighten up man. You're right, it is for fun, but when someone rubs my nose in it by running up the score, I ain't having fun anymore. I'm a lot older than you so while you may be worrying about your stocks, ipod, or your l33t job, I have simple thoughts on my mind like maybe all of humanity isn't out to lunch and there still might be one guy that might kneel at the end of a game instead of trying to pad his freaking stats. I do enjoy my life, but this little prick wasted an hour of it last night. Maybe things like this don't bother you and if so, then good for you. I'm not going to tolerate it and I have no plans to ever "lighten up" about it as you put it. That's what's wrong with the world today...when people are negatively affected by someone else's actions they're told to just let it go. Well I don't just let sh*t go. I'm tired of getting walked on by pricks and assholes and I'm the first one to step up and tell them about it when it happens. If YOU want to let it go, that's fine, but I'm not made that way.
And laurenskye is right, Vick running 11 out of 70 plays isn't that bad in real life, but when he runs 11 out of 30 plays well that's almost half of the game which is way too much. But my main complaint wasn't about Vick's running. At that point in the game, I felt very fortunate to only be down 17-7 at that point in the game. It's how the guy played the last two minutes that pissed me off.
Anyway, don't worry about our game because I'm not playing you. I'll take a forfeit and move onto the next week. I don't like playing pricks and assholes and you sound like you might fit that description perfectly. I joined this league to have fun and having the score run up on you is not fun and neither is being chided about it by some snot nosed prick.

I was gonna ask about that...Sudz wrote:i got absolutely DESTROYED by washington.

And BG I agree 100% that what he did was wrong. I sent out the house rules email to get everyone on the same page, that's all I'm gonna do right now. If it happens again I'll find a replacement owner for Atlanta.
That said, picking and choosing who you are going to play...come on man. You're going to forfeit your week 2 game because you think DB is a dickhead? What the hell is that?
My god man I've had to playLaurenskye twice now! No more!!
What happens if you both make the playoffs and you have to play him? Will that get forfeited too?

I gotta side with Badgun too - the way someone plays the last two minutes of a game, that they're winning, can tell you alot about that person. I'm not playing in a third season of a league that I've been playing in for two years because of the way some guys play with time running out.
I was losing one game 35-3 with 30 seconds left in the game and the guy runs a flea-flicker and attempts to complete a deep pass into the endzone. Another guy that was beating me bad marched up the field with under a minute left and scored when I had no timeouts and was down by more than 21.
I won't play with guys that aren't good sports. I'm a gracious winner and loser and won't play with someone that doesn't play the same way.

IT'S A F*CKING VIDEO GAME. This doesn't have to do with politics, this doesn't have to do with your family, this doesnt' have to do with your job or your livelyhood...it's a f*cking game. Meant to take your mind off the rigors of real world sh*t and to let you relax and have fun. It just bothers me that people take this stuff that seriously.Badgun wrote:That's what's wrong with the world today...when people are negatively affected by someone else's actions they're told to just let it go. I've got ZERO problem with you...in fact, you entertain the hell out of me most of the time. You just happen to be the only person that complains about cheese on a regular basis here, in full detail. Not to mention, you're panties get in quite a bunch if anyone happens to disagree with your 'loose definition' of cheese.
If you don't want to play me, that's fine...but you just sound like a whiney baby...shall we start calling you Larry Johnson? Take the diapers off bro and just have fun.
Yeah I'm a prick...so f*cking what. It should be incentive enough to beat my ass on the football field, cuz god knows you're not going to do it typing away on your Commodore 64.
Hey, we don't need to drag the Commodore 64 into this! Best computer ever.
I agree that the Falcons last two minutes were cheesy. Once Bad was down to 1 TO, it should have been run city, and audibling into a pass like he did is ridiculous. That said, it's week 1, and everybody gets a second chance as far as I'm concerned. I think Bad went a little bit far in saying the guy had no class. People have different definitions of cheese, and I think it's best to let Bill handle this first before calling someone out.
Also, it amuses me whenever anyone takes DB seriously. I think Jared needs to set up a special font for sarcasm.
Seriously, can we all take a deep breath and relax? I am encouraged that we managed to get the league restarted and almost every game played again. I'd hate to see it break up because of stuff like this.

Well, I just hope that cooler heads prevail and that BG and DB can play their game. What happens if a guy misses the post season because BG forfeited and Miami sneaks in the playoffs?
Oh, and you never did go into what happened against Washington. Was it just a straight ass kickin?
