Neat...for each league, there's a league page where you can put in match reports and have things up like standings and what not. Pretty cool...I'll configure stuff for a bit and hope to be unveiling something soon.

The email game logs can be used to automate stat input.

I believe there are PC-based utilities which will take the game log saved by the PC version of Madden and compile stats. Whether they keep the format the same, which would mean being able to use the PC utilities, remains to be seen.

It's still sad that EA can't offer a league system for console versions in this day and age, but if it's like XSN, these third party league software are better anyway.

I'll take the BC Eagles, because I like to suffer.

OK,

If you notice, there's a link on the left that says "DSP Leagues". Feel free to click on it, go to home, and browse to see the things that this software can handle (stats, standings, match reports, etc). I set up a test NCAA league with four teams and a virtually nonexistent schedule to start off. It's pretty bare right now, but there are things I can add (like league leader blocks, graphics, etc.)

I may want a couple of people to volunteer so I can give them "league access" to things like making schedules, adding players, etc. as a beta test of this before we start an actual league. So if anyone wants to volunteer, let me know. I'll only need a few people to volunteer at first.

Also, as people browse, let me know if you have any requests. I probably won't be able to fulfill any of them, but I can always try. :)

Oooo, oooo...like I have to hurry to claim my pathetic Arizona Wildcats.

That raises the obvious question, are we going to have different divisions?

Hey Jared,

Thanks for setting up the league stuff... Just a suggestion: when you navigate to the schedule, stats, etc., the main menu isn't on those pages. In other words, to get from schedule to stats, you'd have to click on "schedule," click the Back button, then click on "stats." It might be nice to have a nav bar with the main links on it throughout the Leagues section...

Oh, and for the other "B" league players, I claim my hapless Akron Zips!!

I thought we had selected teams in a previous thread. If we're redoing them, I'll take my University of Miami Hurricanes.

I've now got it so that a link to the Main Menu (home) is on all of the major pages. Stats, by the way, are pretty customizable...so certain statistics can be kept or not kept...I can put in whatever people request.

As for divisions, we can have as many as people want (though it's probably smart to have an A and a B team division....or maybe even A, B, and C...and we can decide whether people can have teams in multiple divisions or not...I don't have a problem with that). There can also be unlimited leagues, so there can be a separate PS2 and XBox league if people want (or a Madden league or an ESPN league, etc. etc.). I really don't plan on being the league administrator....so if someone wants to volunteer for that (setting up schedules, divisions, etc.) let me know at some point in the future. I'm trying to set up the league software such that everyone can basically run the league by themselves....that is, just simply input your game results and (hopefully) everything else will be automated. But again, I'm not 100% sure if this'll work perfectly...won't find out until the league starts, I guess.

We can also decide if we want to put in full stats for each game, limited stats, or none at all. And I still need to try and figure out team icons...I haven't figured it out yet. But if people have requests or questions, let me know.

(and I've already done this in a previous "claiming" thread...but I got Florida)

It can be either XBox, PS2, or both, depending on what consoles people have.

Well, if people are interested in playing, please post your preferred platform (PS2, XBox, or both) and preferred team. If someone has picked the team you want, you can also put that team down...but also put in a backup team. OR if you're interested in playing with multiple teams (if we do something like that), put down multiple teams.

Also, let me know if you're interested in being a commish for one of the leagues.

I would like to join but wanted to know when the league would start. Our area is finally getting broadband early August. Once we have it, I will subscribe to XBL and hopefully that is not too late to sign up for your league.
