I will probably be there. Looks like the game will hold 12, but I don't know how the latency would be with that many.

I'm going to get into a few games now and see how it plays online.

Boys:

There's no question demand will outstrip supply, as I'm not going to push the capacity limits. I'd rather have a field of seven or eight and no lag than 12 with a ton of lag.

Either way, if you don't get an invite from me by 10:35 p.m. (EDT), please don't take it personally. I'll try to go first-come, first-served, but I must admit that I'm going to invite longtime DSP buds first. Sort of like getting a free pass under the velvet ropes at Studio 54. :)

If you don't get an invite from me by 10:35, feel free to form you own game.

Appreciate your understanding, and I'm really looking forward to racing with you cats.

Take care,
PK

Oh, one more thing: I will break my DSP TOCA 2 Poker Night cherry with Formula Ford racing -- full f*cking tilt.

So practice with those little animals if you want to get a leg up on everyone!

We'll also race in other classes, but I'm definitely starting with FFords.

Take care,
PK

Damn...a game with so much demand that you have to apologize up front for not inviting them is pretty huge.

I've got it and I'm in as well.

Looks like we've currently got 11-14 currently online with TRD2. Maybe we should get two separate games going. I can host, but it says my connection will only handle 6 max.

10:40 EDT - If you are not currently in a TRD2 game and want in on the one I'm setting up, post here with your Gamertag.

PS - Cool problem to have. ;)

PPS - It would be good if you could tell from the friends list in the game who is actually in a game playing, and who is just sitting in a lobby waiting. Would make it much easier to know who to invite and who to leave alone since they are in the middle of a game.

good races for the short time I was in there. I got a dirty disk error, so I called it a night. Very enjoyable, this will be my XBL title for the summer!

Sorry I left so abruptly guys. My connection crapped out in turn 3 at Laguna Seca (right at the stroke of midnight CDT) so I took it as a sign to call it a night. Definitely fun racing. Looking forward to some more of those Formula Fords.

Great racing tonight, fellas. I would have stayed on longer, but I promised the frau-in-training I'd go to bed at the same time as her at least ONE night this week.

I was actually on the fence as to whether or not to pick this one up, as hardcore racing sims aren't usually my thing, but this game is hot stuff. Look forward to doing it again.

Fellas, this was bitchin' beyond belief tonight. Terry said it best: "TOCA 2 is the best console racing game ever. Period."

Agreed 100 percent.

The racing was great. Sorry I was so wreckless after my halftime break. I won't play wild child next time.

Let's do this again soon!

Take care,
PK

Sadly, I did a pretty good imitation of Carl last night, at least in the second half, and I'm ashamed of myself.

Provo: Buy this game NOW. You'll lose a load with ease, especially online. E-mail when you have it, and we'll arrange a time to race with other DSP fellas.

Out,

I echo the sentiments: great game, great racing.

I like the early stages of new racing games where my 'slow and steady' style can keep me in the points.

Once the gear-heads among us start running practice laps and adjusting settings, I'll be toast.

I think my "valedictorian of summer school" comment set PK off on his wild tangent.

Didn't get an invite  (stinks being a new guy here!), but did get into a good game eventually with a few nice guys. The host had everything unlocked so we were trying all the different styles (ice racing was hilarious.)

I then did some more of the career mode to get some more things unlocked. Got as far as the Supertruck series. Hopefully tonight I can get a game started. I want to do a long race with pitstops, probably the Formula Fords.

After I logged off to "go to bed", I ended up racing for another long while. I blew through the GT Lites....Paul, THOSE things are the best. Replaced the Formula Fords in my book for fun factor. They haul ass, but handle wonderfully. You really have a pucker factor the entire time you go through a technical section. Plus, they seem to race on some of the same tracks that the formula fords do...so when you come to a corner that you're used to taking at 110, and you're doing 150....it's a new experience

"Going to bed" is the new TOCA 2 synonym for "I'm sick of PK and his sh*t."

Seriously, I'll race clean tonight. The GT Lights sound quite fun!

Yeah, I'll second that...the GT Lites were some of the most exhiliarating rides out there. The sense of speed will take your breath, but you always feel in control. I think they are definitely my favorites in the game so far.

Paul, actually, I don't think any of us were upset with you. It was funnier than anything else. I think all of us were guilty of a few punts last night...it's tough to judge where cars are around you in this game without a look left/right or mirrors. We'll all get better at holding an inside/outside line as we play, but don't sweat last night.

I thought you were kidding at first, but after seeing like 5 posts from you apologizing, I just need to say this:

SHUT UP, PAUL!

We still love you, and it was fun as hell last night.

Wrecks and all

I second that. I'm much more of a menace out there than you, PK. Well, except for that last time when I suddenly had no control over my vehicle thanks to you ramming me over the grass and into the wall :D . Seriously though, that was hilarious, I was busting a gut laughing!

And some of my most fun last night was the battle at the rear among the beat-up cars.

This game is so much fun racing, as well as incredibly fun driving, if that makes sense to anyone.

When I am using the outside rumble strips most of the time just naturally, and almost despite myself, I know this is a great game.
