Heard a snippet of a podcast where they talked about how Jamaica developed a great track development program in recent years, so that their best talent didn't have to go to some college in the US.
Theory is that if Bolt was American, he'd have been funneled into football whereas in Jamaica (and possibly on neighboring islands), they let him flourish.
Of course, Bolt by himself makes the Jamaican track program look good. Maybe the well runs dry after he retires for good.
