Kobe had quite the puss on in the 4th quarter when the Lakers were heading towards the second consecutive double-digit loss to start the season.

The first week of the NBA season is so great for overeaction. Half these guys are still out of shape from 3 months of clubbing & Aruba trips. Fortunately we have five months to mull it over before the second season begins in May.

So you think the Lakers will be good? You think they'll make the playoffs?

Send me some of your good sh*t, man! :)

I hope you were kidding, thinking that's what he was implying. You don't need the requisite 15-20 games to decide if the Lakers are sh*t. That's locked already.

The Lakers are probably going to be the worst team in the league. Which is unfortunate because Phoenix gets their 1st round pick if its outside of the top 5 this year. Steve Nash trade was BRILLIANT and keeps giving back!

I wasn't talking about LA (they will be bad, like real bad). It was more about the abundance of "what's wrong with LeBron?" analysis ALREADY on the web/talk shows. The NBA is good for people reading too much into October that's completely forgotten by March. That's all.

Wow, Nash may cost the Lakers more than that contract Kobe got.

Surprised he hasn't announced retirement already.

Is he really going to try to come back next year after two years of missing a lot of games due to injuries?

Only if someone is dumb enough to pay him to do so. Maybe Canada will start a basketball league.

LeBron has met his Kryptonite. His name is Jason Smith. :)

Lebron looks lost in Cleveland....

Hope my Hawks from ATL have a big year and I hope Horford
can stay healthy this year. The dude's one of the most
consistent ballers out there and also highly underrated.

My Sixers will be the worst team in the league. THAT is a LOCK. There are some D league teams that are more loaded than the Sixers.

Speaking of D-League, the Miami Heat have developed several players from their farm system including Ennis and Hamilton. Several of their prospects who looked good in the summer league and preseason were sent to the D-League this year.

You clearly haven't watched the Lakers. At least the 76ers have some young guys that could develop into something. The Lakers literally have ZERO.

Time will tell but the Sixers won't win 15 games in the weaker Eastern Conference this season. If the Lakers ARE worse than the Sixers then peace be with you.

Philly is not that bad. Nice to see a balanced game by the Heat which was a rarity the last 4 years with everyone contributing the last 2 games. Another solid game by CB.

Yes they are. Youngest team in the league. I love Noels, MCW and McDaniels. Embid MIGHT play this year. He's going to be a stud. Love Brett Brown. All that being said, they won't sniff 20 games this year. I watched it last year and I'll watch it again this year. They are 2 years away from anything. Love my Sixers but I'm a realist.

Philly will go above & beyond. It wouldn't surprise me if they try to start 4 players. The Lakers will be dumb enough to win 1 more game than they should to send that pick to PHX.

Don't understand the Lakers' strategy. Apparently they're planning on having a lot of cap space when players like Love, Aldridge, Durrant and others become available in the next two years.

They also tried to sign Carmelo this offseason.

Do they plan to extend Kobe after his current contract runs out too?

Seems like they cobbled together a roster, didn't want to commit money except to top players, not FAs who were coming off their rookie deals, like Parsons or Hayward. So they're going for the big names.

The only long-term player on the team seems to have been Randle, because you have to get something out of lottery picks.

They gave Kobe a huge contract but didn't surround him with other players. He can still score but he needs help.

Love will extend with Cleveland. Bank on it. Durant either will stay in OKC or go home to D.C. to play with the Wizards, an up-and-coming young team. Aldridge could be lured to the Lakers.

That would be nuts. I understand the dude's value to the franchise and how the Lakers rewarded him for his sustained excellence and loyalty. But the Lakers only need to do that once. Another renewal would be a major albatross to the franchise on the court and on the cap space ledger sheet.

Utah and Dallas overpaid for Hayward and Parsons, respectively. Hayward is good. But he's not max deal good. I'm guessing clean, law-abiding white dudes play well in Salt Lake City, so that's someone the Jazz's front office wants to build around.

I've said it once; I'll say it again: It's an open secret in the NBA that few superstars want to play with Kobe because he's such a ball-stopper and such a me-first prick. Carmelo and Kobe are arguably the two most selfish offensive players in the Association. Massive ball-stoppers.

The Lakers and the Knicks both have cap room issues due to fat, overinflated contracts -- Kobe's in L.A. and Bargnani's and Stoudemire's in New York. But it's pretty telling that neither team came that close to landing a marquee free agent last summer. Nobody wants to play with a guy who is a black hole for fluid, rhythmic offensive basketball.

There has been no one for Melo to share the scoring with in NY. I think he is willing to defer if he had some help. He did play well with others on the Olympic teams.

By saying they blew the game means they had a chance and were probably winning. I'm not sure the Lakers have had a lead this year. LOL.

Wrong. Hideous shooting team. Turnovers galore. Young team with at least 3 guys who should be in the D league.

Bron Bron and Kyrie got into it after the loss to Portland. Looks like Bron Bron is already frustrated.
