PES 2013 to kick-off on September 14, retail source claims.

PES 2013 could release two weeks before FIFA 13, a retail source has suggested to VideoGamer.com.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com, our source - who has asked to remain anonymous - claimed that the October release window for PES 2013 hinted at by a recent advert was no longer relevant.

Instead, our source claims that the date carried by Blockbuster's website is "more accurate".

Blockbuster currently dates PES 2013 as being due for release on September 14, two weeks before FIFA 13 goes on sale on September 28.

If true, this would be the first time a PES title has gone on sale before FIFA since the launch of Pro Evolution Soccer 3 back in October 2003.

PES typically goes on sale in October following FIFA's late September slot.

Konami's CEO "is personally involved to ensure all licensing is resolved in time for this date," the source added.

VideoGamer.com has contacted Konami for comment.

I played a few more games and noticed no slowdown on the PS3.

Great news about the release date. I'm having an absolute blast with the game and cannot wait to play the full version. I preordered it and the Vita version of FIFA 13 at Newegg with their $10 off preorders code.

I'm with you, Toon. PES 2013 has rocketed to the top of my list of anticipated releases for fall. The demo is terrific.

I'm with the both of you!

I think there is a demo 2 coming out at some point, hopefully the studders are fixed because I really want this game for my soccer fix.

I get a $15 gift card for ordering NHL 13, so it would go right towards PES 2013.

I'm going to definitely get this BUT after the real teams have been created by the user community, which may take a while unless they give the game out early to a select few of roster makers. That's still good since it'll probably be 10 bucks cheaper by then.

I would doubt it. They never have before.

But it'd be nice.

The short of it - really, really enjoying this demo and the improvements they've made to the game. Looking forward to the next demo and the full retail release.

EDIT:

Made this quick video;

Nice collection on Neymar, Macca. You forgot to include the dives he's been performing at the Olympics though. 8)

I can't stand the flashy git in real-life but he's so much fun to use in this game!

Is the PC version coming out at the same time? I've never gotten it for a console just because of all the patches there are on the interwebs.

I think all 3 versions will be released at the same time. I think I might go PC version this year. The last 2 years I bought it for the PS3 and man my eyes hurt. :P

:) With the demo-extender patch on the PC you can set the length of the halves as long as you want - I set it to max and played on the default.

Get the PC version, Rod. Some of the user-made patches for the last few versions have been absolutely incredible.

Not to mention the PC graphics will be a ton better than what's on the consoles. Has anyone played the Wii version? I bought and still have the first PES game for the Wii. PES 2013 for the Wii is listed for $19.99 on Amazon. Was tempted at that price.

There is a night and day difference between the PC and console version. And as Macca and PK stated you have all those insane option files created for the PC which transform it into FIFA Lite.

If you're never going to play online and have a good rig, PES is a marvel on the PC with all of the gameplay patches, option files, etc. One of the most vibrant PC sports gaming communities in the world.

That said, I'm still getting it for the 360. My work laptop isn't a graphical powerhouse.

It looks beautiful on my 50" HDTV and I can sit on my couch and play with surround sound, easy choice for me. :)

I haven't messed with modding a game since the High Heat days. :D

Im going 360 this year so im gonna have to learn how to mod it myself.
I did here a rumour of multiple copying for ps3 now so that would make it easier for that system thats for sure, hmm maybe i should check out the ps3 demo .

So who knows about option file choices between the 360 and the PS3? Are PS3 option files easy to deal with? Can you just download them onto the computer, copy to a USB stick and copy it to the ps3, or is it more complicated than that? What about Xbox these days? Is it any easier to deal with PES files now than it used to be?

I have always just muddled along with the manual editing of team names and player names but I'm wondering now if ps3 is the way to go for option file easiness.

I am curious to know as well. In terms of easiness, PS3 has been the way to go. I skipped last years version and I heard that the option files were quite good for the 360 but more complicated to transfer. And if there are like 25 different files, you have to DL each one of them separately instead of all of them in one shot.

Yeah the 360 is a huge pain in the ass when it comes to transfering stuff to it. I had to deal with that when copying over the roster file for Backbreaker.

Not only do you have to setup the USB drive on the PC but you have to make sure the Flash drive is fast enough for the 360 to work with.
