I have way too many games and little time to p,ay them. Between family, work, and my running I should just quit altogether because it would save me a small fortune in wasted funds.

Halo 4

I might just start buying all of may fall releases on black friday. I can wait a a couple of months to save some serious cash for games that I may / may not have time to play.

In addition to the pile of video and pc games that are remaining unplayed due to lack of time, I have an impressive and growning collection of board wargames that is also suffering the same fate.
Since I got back into board wargaming due to Vassal I hardly sit down to play video games anymore, the exception to that being PES on my pc. I currently have a two games on the Eastern Front and a Civil War game in progress.

Before there were PCs I was heavily into board wargames. Four of us played this monster War in Europe game for months on a map that took 1/2 the basement. I even visited the Avalon Hill company in Baltimore. I still have a large collection of Avalon Hill and Simulations Publications games in my attic. A few years back I tried computer wargames, Operational Art of War and some others, but did not get hooked on those.dougb wrote:In addition to the pile of video and pc games that are remaining unplayed due to lack of time, I have an impressive and growning collection of board wargames that is also suffering the same fate.
I finally found an hour last night to game on the new PC. Played some Far Cry 3. After gaming almost exclusively on console for several years, its taking some time to get used to KB/M controls again.

Was War in Europe made by SPI? I think I remember that one. Former board wargamer here, too.

I think the original War in Europe was published by SPI PK. I believe that a computer version was published by Decision Games although I don't think it was very good unfortunately.
I really enjoy wargaming on Vassal. I've played team games with up to 6 players (OCS Guderian's Blitzkrieg) and have played people living from Seattle to Italy. I'm currently playing a guy in Vermont, 1 in Atlanta, and another in Abuquerque.
There are some good pc wargames although the social element isn't nearly as good playing those as it is playing over vassal using skype.
