My dog has been laying in the sun by the sliding glass door for an hour now not moving. Is she dead?

Depends. Is she the most-played-with pet in the house? Is she still issuing new releases? (Ew)

There are some really, REALLY good non-sports games still coming out on these current systems as well. IMO, it's not time to move on yet.

I've got all three consoles and the PS3 just doesn't hold a candle to the 360 when it comes to gaming. Our Wii gets little to no playing time and I only use the PS3 for The Show. Other than that it's 360 about 95% of the time. Best gaming console ever as far as i'm concerned.

IMO I think the 360 got more right than wrong this gen while Sony tried to live off it's past consumer loyalty which didn't work this time around.

There's a thread at OS which references a CNBC.com article about Madden sales being flat or down to last year, which itself was lower than the previous year.

Economy doesn't help but we're kind of late into this generation, at a time when games would be discounted earlier than usual. So Madden's shelf life seems to have been brief and the preorder deals indicate demand is soft.

Maybe it's nostalgia but it seems there was more anticipation and energy when there was more than one game in each genre. We didn't realize it at the time but that was probably the Golden Age of sports games.

Just imagine where we would be in this generation if the 360 put out solid hardware from the GetGo. I don't even think the PS3 would be where it is today.

That plays a part as there's no choice so gamers can't play one game and try the other. It's either Madden or nothing.

True Dat !

But the crappy bottom of the pile Arcade seems to be the most reliable of all the 360's go figure.

Don't forget the annual "PK when are you getting a 360?" thread.
Answer: Never. Same as it ever was ... :)

Looks like a nice machine, but I'm done like a burned steak with console gaming. Zero interest.

Ya I think you you are right on.....Even after all that MS qc abuse, for playing games its all 360 for me.

I have two PS3's hooked up and besides Demon's Souls ( MMMMM) I basically have only used them as blu ray players.

What a goofy thread title.. our wii is a dust collector for the most part, the 360 gets used so much use, my daughter wants to trade all her ps2 stuff on a 360 for herself.

Best console I've ever owned.

The last time I turned on the Wii was to play TW 10 last year. It's been off for over a year.

My 8 year old and her friends still play Mario Cart and a few other games, but its coolness wore off a long time ago.

Mario Kart, Paper Mario, Mario Galaxy, and Metroid are all great games on the Wii including a few on Wii Ware.

My interest in certain games has disappeared but the few i still enjoy (NHL,footy)are getting as much or if not more play than ever now as the games are getting so much better and September is going to mental Pes11 is a day one buy but damed if fifa doesnt look just as awesome this year. So to that i say i get the online games like NHLand Fifa for 360 and offline like Pes for ps3.
Throw in F1 for ps3 and im even for consoles.

My 9-year-old and 5-year-old sons are addicted to MotoGP on the Wii. I keep telling them they should sell the six or seven other games they have, as they get no use.

I'm bad about that too PK.. I have a few games like the original Rock Band, Left for Dead and Guitar Hero Metallica that never get played, but I can't see myself trading them in for some reason.

Well, my boys aren't going to have a choice soon. I MUST teach them the ways of thrift. Ah, f*ck it, let's strip away the varnish: I must teach them how to be cheap. :)

My 360 gaming is actually making a comeback over the past year with it receiving at least equal play as my PS3. My biggest beef is I don't really want to invest in a bigger HD (still have the original) and most games run better off it (since I have an older model with a crappy disk drive playing NCAA off the hard drive is a must...for some reason Madden runs fine without installing).

I was excited for the past 2 generations of consoles because the PS2 was my first DVD player and the PS3 my first Blu-Ray. Since I'm happy with Blu-Ray and HD on Fios, they can extend this generation of gaming for a few years as far as I'm concerned.
