Scrap gaming time goes to;
-NHL 08 (360)
-NCAA 08 (360)
-Orange Box (360)

you would think he would come back with more pertinent information than about 2k8. How about some lottery numbers???Slumberland wrote:Are you from the future!?kevinpars wrote:baseball 2K8 - I got this out again after reading about 2K9. This game still disappoints me - but is the only baseball game in town for the 360
360:
College Hoops 2k8
Madden 08
MLB 2k8
Had been playing franchises in all the games, but have become sadistic and taken to getting my butt kicked on live with the same games.

All 360
First string:
Rock Band -- alternating between drum and guitar solo tours. Love, love, love this game.
Mass Effect -- Absolutely terrific, rivals BioShock for best single-player game I've played on the 360. I'm taking my time doing side quests.
NBA 2k8 -- Playing a Bulls franchise even more horrifying than the real thing. I'm almost to Dec. 25 when I plan to fire virtual Scott Skiles
Second string:
COD 4 -- This cooled off after I got Rock Band and Mass Effect, but the urge to kill should return soon.
Guitar Hero III -- I have played some of this, but I really think it's not in the same league as RB. Still, plenty of good songs so it will get some time.
Bench warmer:
PGR 4 -- I haven't played this in weeks, but I'm keeping it because it's a very good game I know I'll play once I get through the A-listers above.
Cut from the team:
Madden 08 -- So disappointing. It does a lot of things right, but what it does wrong eventually ruined the game for me. The patch helped with fumbles and reduced CPU interceptions slightly, but did nothing to fix the defensive TDs.
Halo 3 -- I really liked the single player, but COD's multiplayer is more my style.

JRod, I have a question I'm asking completely seriously: what's the last console game you played that you really liked?
I have to say I was really on the blah fence earlier, with Guitar Hero II the only game I really got excited about, but the fall 360 releases completely re-energized my enthusiasm for gaming. I think August-November 2007 was one of the strongest series of releases in gaming history.

Well, I'm settling in with my 360, and haven't really touched my PC lately...... (my upgrade of my PC is on pause, as we are house shopping)
On the 360, I have
NHL2k8 (if only there were a few tweaks here and there, it would be perfect)
NBA2k8 (i suck at basketball, yet every year I get NBA because I think it's one of the best 'sims' of it's sport. And the graphics? Oh my!)
Forza2 (came with the 360. Anyone still play this on Live?)
Marvel (came with the 360 too, haven't played it much)
Smackdown vs Raw 2008 (yes, wrasslin..... I'm not ashamed to admit I'm trailer trash.
I've also had Dead Rising on rent.... very cool game.

So little time for gaming lately, but when I have been playing:
College Hoops 2K8, post-patch
Orange Box
And I'm hoping that the next Worldwide Soccer Manager patch fixes MLS enough to start playing it.
And the upcoming baseball games on the PS3 (The Show, Pro Yakyu Spirits) are REALLY tempting me to get a PS3......

This is old trying to say I hate everything. How is being burnt out with console gaming saying I hate gaming.Brando70 wrote:The PK500 cheap PC gaming hivemind assimilates another gamer![]()

Let's move on on the old and tired assumption.

Brando's not saying you hate everything...otherwise he wouldn't have asked the question.
You're burnt out with console gaming...so that implies that there was a time that you liked console games. Hence Brando's question....and it's a valid one.
And I think it's interesting to see what people's opinions are re: the state of console gaming right now. My (totally unsolicited opinion) is that non-sports console gaming has been excellent lately (e.g. 2nd half of 2007), whereas console sports gaming has been stagnant, apart from a few exceptions.
What does everyone else think?
