4 for 4 this weekend after taking two wildcard teams to win on the road.

Next weekend though, I'm taking the chalk.

Pats, Colts, Cowboys and Packers.

Vince Young should have been yanked once they needed to throw the ball.

why don't they let him be a mobile QB? Runs and short dump passes?

His foot is in a boot. They are awaiting X-Rays and Norv Turner said he would be listed as questionable.

Totally agree. His health is questionable so that may have played a role in not letting him get too mobile however.

Chargers have got their work cut out for them in Indy next weekend. Its going to be one heck of a game:) Hopefully Gates will be back cause without him we've got some serious problems.

No Gates no win...Im hoping Gates will be back because I think that game has the potential to be one for the ages if he is...

You know like Chargers vs Dolphins 81 or Raiders vs Colts 77 so as to mention both teams.

Weather is expected to be good in the 3 outdoor venues except Lambeau.

So no giant-killing of the Pats this weekend.

In fact, I'd say the favorites in all the other games are more vulnerable than the Patriots, unless Brady goes down or something.

With Indy, maybe they should try to save Harrison for the matchup against the Pats but beating the Chargers isn't a given, because the Chargers have fared well against the Colts in recent years.

Plus he has to get some game work in before playing in the biggest game of the year.

In the NFC, Giants are playing well and Cowboys haven't been. All could hinge on how effective TO is off his injury.

Packers are more likely to generate a running game if the conditions are sloppy. Both teams rely on passing. But in bad weather, punt or kick returns can be decisive, as well as turnovers or players slipping at key moments. Not sure which team has better special teams.

IOW, the strongest contenders to stop the Patriots from going 19-0 could all have more difficult games.

Tough week but here it goes:

Indy over San Diego: Of all the games my gut tells me this one is not even close. Even with Gates in the lineup I would still pick the Colts to demolish the Chargers.

Cowboys over Giants: I remember the Bears looking lackluster in the final month of the season last year when they had home field advantage throughout locked up. I also remember them going to the Super Bowl. I think the Cowboys play their best football in about a month and beat the Giants. Though it is awfully tough to beat the same team 3 times in a season.

Patriots over Jags: I'm picking with my head over my heart here. While there is a way the Jags can win this game it has to go perfect for them and I don't see that happening.

Seahawks over Packers: I can't tell if this is picking with my head or my heart. As a Bears fan I obviously would love to see the Packers lose. For some reason I don't think the Packers are ready to win in the playoffs yet. Next year they'll make some noise but a lot of times the first step for a team is to make the playoffs and lose in the first round. Of all coaches in the league Holmgren should know how to get to Favre better than anybody. The Seahawks have a lot of playoff experience in the past couple of years including a trip to the Super Bowl. They gave the Bears everything they had last year and damn near beat them. For some reason I think my head, heart, and gut are right in this one.

I keep reading this, and my only question is why? SD has won 2 of their last 3 vs. Indy, since 2004, and it should have been 3 of 3. 2 of those 3 games were in Indy. The SD front 7 has battered Peyton Manning, and he's never really put up the big game against them.

I just don't know why everyone thinks this game will be a blowout. I don't think SD wins, but going on recent history this game should be competitive.

I don't think it will be close because I don't have any faith in Philip Rivers at all. You know Indy will focus on LT, especially with Gates out, and I don't think Rivers can step up. Hell, the Titans would have beaten the Chargers with any sort of offense last week and that was in San Diego. I also don't think Norv Turner is much of a coach. I know the series has been competitive the past couple of years and San Diego has even had the upper hand but my gut tells me this one isn't even close. But hey, I thought the Packers were going to kick the holy hell out of the Bears a couple of weeks ago and look how that turned out.

Let's get serious and start using spreads here, boys:

Green Bay -8 over Seattle
-- Just a gut feeling that the Packers will roll at home. Seattle beat Washington last week -- big whoop. Todd Collins was at QB for Washington -- 'nuff said.

New England -13 over Jacksonville
-- This won't be close. Bad memories of the game against the Giants -- and questions about the Patriots' vulnerability -- will be all that NE needs to roll at home.

San Diego +8.5 over Indianapolis
-- I'm with BK on this one. If Rivers has a solid game, the Bolts have a chance to win this game, let alone cover.

N.Y. Giants +7.5 over Dallas
-- The Giants are playing as well as any team in the NFC right now. I think that close call against New England gave the Jints a ton of confidence. If Eli plays another strong game, the Giants could win this game, let alone cover.

Take care,

Green Bay -8 over Seattle
I like the Packers D vs. the Seattle offense because Seattle can't run. If the Packers get anything going on the ground they walk.

New England -13 over Jacksonville
Crazy spread for an NFL playoff game, but if the Jags hadn't forced those TOs the Steelers would have won easily. New England probably won't be so loose with the ball.

Colts -8.5 over San Diego
It's possible that the Chargers could get a monkey-off-the-back boost after last week's win. But they did not really look that impressive to me last week. Plus Indy gave up the fewest points in the league. Even if Harrison is a little gimpy, I think the Colts are too much for this year's Charger squad.

Giants +7.5 over Dallas
I almost want to punch myself in the face for making this pick, but I think the Giants have the ability to pull this off. They have played really well against two good defenses, while the Cowboys have not looked the same since the Green Bay game. Should be the most entertaining game of the weekend.

If we're picking against the spread now... my only change would be the Cowboys not covering (but still winning). The other 3 home/favored teams still win and cover though.

Rivers is the one who's actually played pretty well the last month or so. Not to mention he's the one who carried them in the Titans victory. That Titans defense is no joke when they are healthy.

And you know, there's a reason the Titans didn't have any sort of offense last week, right.

But what the hell do I know, they play crappy when I Think they should play well, and play out of their heads, when I think they should get blown out.

If Gates is NOT 100% (or doesn't even play) Rivers will be completely lost out there. Indy will destroy them.

Look for Bob Sanders to have a real nice day.

Green Bay -8 over Seattle

I think the Seahawks will get alot of pressure on Favre and he will out int Hasselbeck. I think Seattle wins out right.

Seahawks

New England -13 over Jacksonville

I like Jacksonville but I dont think this is the right place or time for them.
The Patriots will win by more than two TDs though the game wont be easy.

Patriots

San Diego +8.5 over Indianapolis

This one is tough to pick with the points due to the uncertainty about Gates but I will assume even if he does play he wont be effective. The Colts at home and My Super Bowl pick will roll.

Colts

N.Y. Giants +7.5 over Dallas

As with Colts Chargers much has to do with the injury but...
I think this is the week we see the real Eli and the real Romo. Cowboys steamroll the Giants.

Cowboys

Green Bay -7.5 Seattle. My heart says Seahawks but B. Favre will outplay Hasselbeck who has to pass at a success rate of at least 70% and over 270 yards in frigid temperatures to match his counterpart. Tough task.

New England -13.5 Jacksonville. This is the year of the Pats, slow beginning but they'll find their killing instinct.

Indy -9.5 San Diego. Colts prevail.

Dallas -7.5 NY Giants. Yoko-Romo to the rescue.

I was way off on the first one...Pack buries Hawks after spotting them 14 on TOs.

Great bounce back by Grant...I was thinking hes getting benched and He goes for 200 and 3 TDs.

Favre was beautiful. How could I have doubted him?

The Seahwaks need to pay more attention to what they are doing and less to crying about calls.

Edit: Oh yeah....and....Go Jags!

B. Favre was amazing. Good win for GB, never panicked, now I want them to go all the way to the SB. Hawks are still winless in playoffs' road games and I think it's time for M. Holmgren to step out.

It truly is disgusting watching the Patriots get away with blatantly obvious hold after blatantly obvious hold.
