Squid, it's called Race Driver 2006 and I believe they made a Race Driver 2007 as well. I bought a copy from ebay and it's nice but it's still not in the same league with the Xbox version.

Have them improved the battery life on the new slim models?

Do the sports games now have infrastructure wifi modes now or is it mostly ad hoc network games?

Also, anyone download games for PSP through the PS3 or use any of those remote play options between the PSP and PS3?

I believe the standard battery for the slim provides similar battery life, but you can use the battery from the old PSP (need a different battery cover) and it will give you additional life.

From what I remember, last year's sports games (SCEA and EA) all had infrastructure online play, but I haven't used it at all.

Race Driver 2006 is an amazing accomplishment for a handheld racer, but the shitty analog nub on the PSP really hurts the handling. The Codies did a good job of programming the accelerator to have an analog buildup instead of being a true on/off switch, but it can still be hard to get a good start in some cars and that just kills your chances on some of the short races where you start mid- or back-of-the pack.

I've been playing Killzone, the God of War demo, Winning Eleven 2008, and Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2 Portable (Japanese version of Power Pro Baseball) lately. I think the PSP has really established itself as a solid handheld. There's a lot of good releases for it and being able to stream a movie from my PC to my PS3 to my PSP over the internet or just at home in my bedroom is awesome.

You can import from across the pond. See my post just above yours and you'll see I've been playing Jikkyou Powerful Pro Baseball 2 from Japan and an import of Winning Eleven 2008.

I am VERY impressed with the new "slim" hardware. My PSP was broken by my brother this past weekend so I went and picked up a new silver (Daxter) PSP. The edges, and grip, everything...is a lot better with this thing. Not to mention, you can't see all of the finger prints and mess like you could on the black version. I just can't believe I wanted so long to get one of the new ones.

Pata-pata-pata-pon. Pon-pon-pata-pon.

That might look like gibberish but if you pick up Patapon next week you won't be able to get it out of your head. I've been playing the European release for the past couple of days and it's a lot of fun and very stylistic.

Patapon has received solid reviews everywhere and at $19.99 it's a no brainer.

I've been eyeing a white slim.. especially with The Show coming out soon and my desire to get a ps3 is fading somewhat.

After ignoring my PSP for months, I started playing the Show and Worms on it recently. I also have Pinball and the Atari classics title, but that's it.

I'd like to pick up a couple more games for it. I've got my fill of sports with the games I already have on the consoles (plus the Show), so I'm looking for something a little different. Nothing that requires button-mashing or heavy use of the analog stick.

What are some good non-sports titles that involve strategy and are not too reflex heavy? I've got Puzzle Quest and possibly Field Commander on my list of potential buys right now.

I also don't think I want to buy a console so I'm thinking about a PSP when the new show comes out.

Sony is bringing also a thin red Ferrari color to the PSP (I just saw it in Asia recently). Sold out everywhere. It's supposed to come out with the game God of war.

Maybe this pic doesn't do justice to the real thing, you gotta see it with your own eyes.

I saw pics of that color with Kratos' face embossed on the cover, sort of like their Star Wars and Jak and Dakster editions.

Are they going to bundle the game like they did with the Star Wars and Dakster games?

Finally got one of these things, and 4GB memory card. Going to Korea and need something for long plane ride in coach class (so the chances of being able to work are slim to none) and I've been eyeing these since the slim models came out.

Nice little unit. I've got some borrowed games and got a cheap used copy of MLB 07 the show. Probably play some vice city, MLB07 and Hot Shots Golf on the trip.

Anyone here play this thing online?

I'm getting tempted to get one but the puzzle game selection seems pretty limited.

The God of War Pack isn't until June 30th.

The Dakster Pack seems like a better deal, with a 1 GB Memory Stick Duo card, which goes for $20 by itself.

The God of War pack will also be $199 but it won't have a memory card bundled.

Patopon does sound like a good deal for $20 new.

WCO, you'll eventually watch & convert some movies, so my suggestion is to get at least a 2GB memory card if not 4GB. They're pretty cheap these days.

You're talking to someone who's got several unopened DVDs.

Mainly I want it to kill short stretches of time.

Maybe I don't even need the 1 GB card either, although I see a lot of demos are available to download.

What kind of movies are you talking about? If you're talking about Demonoidesque movies you can get those already in PSP format. If you're talking about .wmv files there's converters out there.

Not sure if its already been talked about in this thread but I just picked up Madden 08 for my PSP and was pleasantly surprised after spending the last few days with it. Its not totally on par with the PS2 version and there is maybe a touch of crappy tackling in there but after tweaking a few sliders for the AI I'm really impressed. I didn't have much hope for football on the PSP after playing the first madden but this is ten times better. Franchise mode seems more in depth too which is perfect for on the go. They included the "accelerated clock" option too which is great for me cause I like to tweak the sliders to where I can play a full game and get semi-realistic stats at the end.

This has me more excited about picking up FIFA '08 and The Show now (too games I also haven't checked out since the PSP original releases).
