MLB '08 news and info

Someone over at OS posted this:

"I was reading the latest Playstation Magazine and they have a little preview of The Show. I saw a couple little cool things they metioned that i hadnt seen mentioned yet.

-OVER 500 NEW gameplay animations, that's not including the 1,000-plus custom player stances and animations.

-Crowds will bat beach balls around

-RTTS feature "You will need to keep an eye on the third base coach and learn the signs. He'll be giving you signs, and while you're in the minors you'll get a pop-up explaining what to do, but they'll be gone if you make it to the bigs, so you'll need to know what to look for."

-Replay vault also provides a broadcast-like highlight reel of key moments in the later innings."

Chris and Kolbe (developers) added these comments:

"Currently 507 new gameplay animations...and growing

"Seriously. It changes based on difficulty as well... so when you're on rookie mode it literally tells you what the sign means, once you're above all-star you get no hint, you just have to read the sign.

That Blu-ray disc will be used at max. I love the part where you would have to learn and read the signs from the third base coach.

Looks like the only thing missing at this point in the game are the steroids drugs.

I know a lot of people think that. I think the graphics were better than that, but certainly not "Next-Gen" if you know what I mean.

That being said, I loved last years PS3 version, and still play it. No baseball game has ever held my attention for the amount of time that game did. Both with franchise mode and RTTS.

Just out of curiousity, will the Mitchell report sour your excitement about this upcoming game?

I don't think it will for me, however if someone such as Pujols is on the list as mentioned, I'll be a bit less enthusiastic about having him on my team.

Just sold my 04 Yamaha R6

I see a 50" Bravia in my future along with a ps3 and wii.

They could bundle this game WITH the Mitchell report and a swatch from a Clemens jersey and i'd still be there at 10:00am to grab it on release day.

just lower Pujols' power ratings by 20points and that will get you where he needs to be. I'm glad the Cubs have good, honest, noble players like DLee, ARam, Fonzie and Fuk U

Maybe... definitely been thinking about it.

There's still nothing on the ps3 that makes me want that system and that's hinging on MLB 2k8 and how good/bad it is.. making want The Show or not.

Then you haven't played Ratchet and Klank. I rented that game last night and I'm telling you, I've never that so much fun! Between MLB and R&K, I am so happy I switched back to the PS3. And I haven't even tried Unchartered yet! You owe it to yourself to check out Ratchet and Klank.

My neighbor has a ps3 and we never play it. He uses it for movies and that's about it. I'm not a 360 vs ps3 debater, I just like the 360 more at this point in time.

I'm definitely getting a wii next.
