The only EA F1 game that was good was F1 Challenge '99-'02(PC) the very last year on their F1 license before they lost it to Sony.
At the very least, consumers on all (most) platforms would have a chance to play an F1 title if Sony loses exclusivity. It would be best if multiple developers/publishers got a crack at it though.
Agreed but given EA's terrible track record regarding F1 and Nascar games. Will any even want to play or even bother with it? At the very least I am curious but according to the rumor this will only be for the PS3 and 360 as EA will not invest in a new franchise for the PS2 and Xbox. Sadly.ly no mention of a PC version and that is troubling since they abandoned Nascar for the PC because of terrible sales and primarily because the game was garbage. They were going after the NR2003 fanbase and failed miserably.

Honestly, I couldn't give a flying toss if an EA NASCAR or F1 game EVER came to the PC. It's not needed, as it's almost as certain as ice in the Arctic that it wouldn't be as good as NR 2003 or the rFactor F1 mods.

Take care,

PK where I differ on that view is that with an actual packaged game you usually get season or championship modes you can play through. Whereas games like rFactor it's just basically car mods and tracks.

That's what I like about RACE '07 and GTR2 is that you have actual modes. But like you said rFactor is geared towards online leagues so they will create their own season and championship.

It would be nice though if EA were to really put out a stellar F1 game for the PC. Lately they have been on a self proclaimed quality over quantity campaign. Let's hope it carries over into the entire EA Sports lineup.
