I couldn't quite get it done around the outside of the right hander and he toughed it out through the left hander for the victory.
Yeah, that was a fun one at Suzuka. I saw you behind me catching up on the last lap and you got close enough going into the final chicane. I protected the inside going into the chicane (instead of my normal line that's much further outside), knowing that if we did stay side-by-side all of the way through, I'd have the inside slot and momentum for the run coming out of the righthander to the finish. Good stuff.

I took some damage on the Ring on the grid and never had a chance of keeping up w/ you after that, but settled for a nice 5 lap battle with Fshguy. I got stuck on the back of the grid and got a good launch, but someone's back end got loose upshifting on the cold tires and nicked me about 100yds into the race. Oh well, it was still fun to run 5 laps there in race cars.

Bring on the DLC, I'm ready to buy Microsoft!!!

To tell the truth, mate, I wasn't entertaining the idea of making a move until I saw you defending the line - I'd had a look at it and decided I wasn't close enough, but with the braking points we had I'd have ended up having a go if you'd left the door open so you were in exactly the right place.

The long race got a bit lonely, if I'm honest, because I didn't hit anything. I thought I had a chance in any case but I was happy to take things a little easier once I knew mine was about the only car that didn't have bits missing. I did want to commend you, Jon, for that move you tried on Fshguy round the outside of Breidscheid that eventually ended up with me taking the lead - just about the nuttiest move I've ever had the privilege of watching, and you were this close to making it stick...

I realised earlier that my best lap in the race at the 'Ring was only about 45 seconds off what I've been doing in the Porsche 962 on the time trial there. On a lap like that, where the 962's power and downforce really come into their own, that's not such a deficit, especially considering the 962 in time trial always has perfect tyres - they're proper racing cars, those R3 machines.

Free Forza DLC reportedly available:

P.S.: Digital Displacement is a pretty cool blog for racing gamers on all platforms.

Take care,
