OK That's it Rob; you get Willem II and you are stuck with them for the next three seasons. Enjoy your time in the bottom division once you're done with them! :lol:

OK, more tweaking to the break down of teams:
  • Top Tier

    Arsenal
    Chelsea (London FC)
    Man U
    Liverpool (Merseyside Red)

    AC Milan
    Juventus
    Inter
    A.S. Roma

    Olympique Lyonnais

    Barcelona
    Real Madrid
    C. Atletico Madrid
    Villareal C.F.
    Valencia C.F.

    PSV Eindhoven

    Bayern Munich
    Benfica

    Second Tier

    Charlton Athletic (South East London Reds)
    Everton (Merseyside Blue)
    West Ham Utd. (East London)
    Tottenham Hotspur (North East London*)
    Aston Villa (West Midlands Village)
    Blackburn Rovers (Lancashire)
    Bolton Wanderers (Middlebrook)
    Fulham (West London White)
    Manchester City FC (Man Blue)
    Blackburn Rovers FC (Lanchashire Athletic)
    Newcastle Utd. FC (Tyneside*)

    Girondins de Bordeaux
    AS Saint-Etienne
    AS Monaco
    Paris St.-Germain
    Olympique de Marseille+

    Livorno
    Siena
    Udinese
    Chievo Verona
    Sampdoria
    Palermo*
    Fiorentina*
    Lazio*
    Torino+

    Ajax*
    Feyenoord

    Athletic Club
    R. Betis*
    Levante U.D.
    Sevilla F.C.
    R. Zaragoza

    Olympiacos Piraeus
    Sporting Lisbon
I pushed Lyon into the Top Tier, making that group now 17, and I trimmed off some of the French teams from the Second Tier that I had added a little bit ago, while adding the crappy Torino. Tier Two is now 34 teams large. This makes the range of quality a little larger in the Top Tier, but with so many new players I can't really keep it to the absolute very best, as there wouldn't really be enough teams to draw from. In Tier Two, there is a big range of teams there, and some are very, very close to making the Top Tier.

This list is intended for reference, mostly for the Second Tier people. The asterisked teams are close to Top Tier level, the ones with a + are close to not-good-enough. Again, any input is welcome. We can always revisit the break down between seasons, if need be.

I will do the first round of the draw tomorrow.

Team Draw, 1st Round Complete

Post by Zeppo »

OK folks:

Scoop has joined the league, against his better judgement I'm sure :wink:. Looking back through the records, I'm reminded that Danimal and snate have both participated in the league previously, and so a coin flip has placed snate into Division Two.

The results of the first round of the random team draw are as follows:
  • DSPremiership

    RobVarak = Torino F. C.

    Slumberland = Athletic Club Bilbao

    JaredM = Blackburn Rovers F.C. (Lancashire)

    CP Zeppo = AS Monaco F. C.

    St Cloud = Feyenoord Rotterdam

    XXXIV 34 = Bolton Wanderers F. C. (Middlebrook)

    DSPenultimate

    Naples39 = Sporting Clube de Portugal (Sporting Lisbon)

    Leebo33 = Chelsea F.C. (London FC)

    JackB1 = Real Madrid C. F.

    fanatic (crucialmike00) = A.S. Roma

    Blublub (cecilbturtle) = F. C. Barçenlona

    nyisles16 = C. Atletico Madrid

    snatex = S. L. Benfica

    Division Three

    DrMacca = West Ham Utd. F. C. (East London)

    lsdean = Arsenal F. C.

    Danimal66 = Manchester Utd. F. C.

    TCrouch = F.C. Internazionale Milano (Inter)

    dave2eleven = PSV Eindhoven

    HOGZ TheTruth = Valencia C.F.

    ScoopBrady = Liverpool F.C. (Merseyside Red)
The team draw is a three-round process, and this was the first round of the draw. You may reject the team drawn for you and enter the second round of the draw, which will be performed tomorrow morning, so post here by the end of the day as to whether you want to keep this team or not. The third round of the draw is final, so should you reject the team drawn for you in the second round whatever team you end up with is the team you will be stuck with for this season. Anyone may re-enter the team draw process between seasons.

Among the Top Tier group, we have only 17 teams but 12 players, so to a degree that group is a bit of a shell game. I need to know all the players who want to be in round two of the draw before it can be done, and the only hard and fast rule is that in rounds two and three, you cannot be drawn a team you already rejected in rounds one and two.

As for myself, I will be keeping the Chevanton-less Monaco (now with Koller!) at least for this season.

Once again, new members should take a minute to read through the first post of the long Official DSP WE League Thread, as it explains all the basic rules and procedures of the league. It should answer any questions you may have about the league, but if there are any left unanswered, feel free to PM me.

Finally, everyone who does not yet have an account must head over to Jason's SGN League site and create one:

http://www.sportsgamingnation.com/sgnleagues/index.php

Jason may have the account activation set so that he has to do it manually, so if your account doesn't activate in a couple of days, let me know.

Post here if you want to keep your team or reject it and enter Round Two of the Draw.

Thanks!

You've got solid group of good players on the team particularly Diouf (attacking midfielder, forward, fast good dribbler), Anelka (forward, strong, fast) and Nolan (attacking/centre midfielder). You've also got Ivan Campo in defense and his hair is just magic - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivan_Campo

You're not too late, but only just. You will be in Division Three, and since we've already done the first round of the draw, you will go into round two with everyone who's rejecting their round one team, and only have one chance to redraw. Amazingly, Juventus wasn't drawn in round one. . .

This would be cool if I knew anything about the teams, all I know about Manchester Utd is they kept talking about them in that movie EuroTrip.

So I'll keep them.

Ok, I'll stick with Liverpool. Of course all I'm going to do is employ England's World Cup strategy and cross the ball for Crouch over and over. :wink:

Alright guys, I don't know much about the teams either. Is Valencia CF worth keeping or should I try to get another?

Zepp, is your top tier teams ranked by the best team at the top or are they in no particular order? If you ranked them, then I see that Valencia is towards the bottom so maybe I should try another draw.

The order they're in has nothing to do with their quality. The English teams are first, then the Italian teams, the French, etc. Valencia is certainly not the very best team among that group, but they're no slouch by any measure. All the teams in the Top Tier are very, very good teams with lots of depth.
