It sounds like a good idea to me. I know it would enable me to complete more tournaments with my rotating shift work schedule.vader29 wrote:Since the single round daily tournaments have been getting low turnouts, understandable with it being tough for some to log on every day to play a round with work and life getting in the way, I am thinking for the next season of making a Monday thru Wednesday tournament with 2 or 3 rounds then everyone can just log in once in the first half of the week to knock out their rounds in one sitting or play one round a day if they prefer, will still keep the weekend tournaments Thursday thru Sunday at 4 rounds. Thoughts?

Thanks John. That course had a nice organic feel to it from a gameplay challenge perspective. It also ran and looked really good on the X.J_Cauthen wrote:I simply didn't have time to get my last two rounds in with all the Christmas appointments I had to make. I'd have finished over par anyway... I think I was +3 after two rounds, and trending for even higher scores.vader29 wrote:Weekend results, Merry Christmas ya filthy animals!
-29 was a heck of a total Tim... that course had my number!
Like you, I prefer to play on the X now even though it runs far better on my PC, the whole feel of playing on a 65” 4K HDR tv seems to immerse me far more than sitting at my desk looking at a 2K 32” screen.....
Re: HB Studios Next-Gen golf game: The Golf Club
Do any of you insiders know if there are any plans by the developers to give TGC2 the VR treatment like they did with the first one?
Re: HB Studios Next-Gen golf game: The Golf Club
At this point, they've officially state they have no plans for a VR version of TGC 2. I think they would have to build TGC 3 with the idea of VR in mind if they really want to make a mega hit out of it. There hasn't been that much interest or discussion about the current VR version, even though I hear it plays decently. There hasn't been a post in the VR forum room at HB Studtios since November 18th.DChaps wrote:Do any of you insiders know if there are any plans by the developers to give TGC2 the VR treatment like they did with the first one?
It seems the current VR players feel like they are playing a three year old version of the game. I'm sure it would look and play better with TGC 2, but with only 11,800 copies of The Golf Club VR sold, and the current The Golf Club 2 only selling 25% of the number of copies they sold of The Golf Club 1, I don't see where it would be economically feasible for them to produce a VR version of it.
Re: HB Studios Next-Gen golf game: The Golf Club
The course does have an organic feel and look to it. I had no problems with it per se. I'm in a funk where I continue to fall back into a groove where what feels like a good swing results in a left shot cone boundary tracing hook. When I try to correct it with an outside-in swing, I get a pull hook. If I move my thumb to 5 o-clock and slow the swing down a bit, I can get a straight shot, or one that fades reasonably. I can't make that swing feel natural to me and I eventually slide back into the hook swing.DivotMaker wrote:Thanks John. I'm playing on 2010 vintage 55" LCD display with mine and it looks and feels markedly better than my original XBox One. Looks and performance wise, it's still a league behind my PC, which I play on the same screen, it's mostly a matter of having the game on the same platform as the majority of my TGC 2 friends that sells me on playing this version the most.Like you, I prefer to play on the X now even though it runs far better on my PC, the whole feel of playing on a 65” 4K HDR tv seems to immerse me far more than sitting at my desk looking at a 2K 32” screen.....
If I'd never played the game on my gaming PC, I'd have no idea the XBox One X would be that far behind the PC version in performance. Still, I think if HB Studios made some code changes to the game to take advantage of the X, with The Golf Club 2 could be made to both play and look better via the X, than my gaming PC; but not likely your PC, which IMO is a hoss!
Re: HB Studios Next-Gen golf game: The Golf Club
Why not hookup your PC rig to your 65" HDR TV? My PC gaming rigs have been hooked up to my HDTV's for years. In fact that's how my Steam PC is rigged up on my HDTV albeit a 1080p TV.DivotMaker wrote:Like you, I prefer to play on the X now even though it runs far better on my PC, the whole feel of playing on a 65” 4K HDR tv seems to immerse me far more than sitting at my desk looking at a 2K 32” screen.....

Agree with this...too hard to do it daily, but if I have 3 and 4 days to complete each, I'm in.vader29 wrote:Since the single round daily tournaments have been getting low turnouts, understandable with it being tough for some to log on every day to play a round with work and life getting in the way, I am thinking for the next season of making a Monday thru Wednesday tournament with 2 or 3 rounds then everyone can just log in once in the first half of the week to knock out their rounds in one sitting or play one round a day if they prefer, will still keep the weekend tournaments Thursday thru Sunday at 4 rounds. Nah, that’s Family Room and I’m not going to move my PC there.Rodster wrote:Why not hookup your PC rig to your 65" HDR TV? My PC gaming rigs have been hooked up to my HDTV's for years. That being said, my next purchase is likely the LG 4K HDR OLED 55” for my office that will replace my two monitors I have for my X, laptop, and PC....It will be a while before that happens though.

Looks pretty and probably plays well, but I'm calling a bit of BS on the design. A seaside course ... in Idaho?DivotMaker wrote:Vader,

Have yet to play it, and have not looked too closely at the pics, but if that’s the case, I agree. There are limitations in the designer, but I think the course could have been done using the correct theme.....pk500 wrote:Looks pretty and probably plays well, but I'm calling a bit of BS on the design. Not sure this has been posted, but Valhalla has been released. It is by friendBOMBER and is spectacular.
The correct naming for it is Valhalla GC.

Re: HB Studios Next-Gen golf game: The Golf Club
I played the first 5 holes and I think he went with the seaside theme because Lake Coeur d'Alene is 2 1/2 to 3 miles wide in places, and they just don't have the ability to create lakes that big in the game.DivotMaker wrote:pk500 wrote:DivotMaker wrote:Vader,

Based on a search I found Valhalla GC courses both by TGC Member? The first course had a 41/2 star rating and the other had a 3 star rating.DivotMaker wrote:Not sure this has been posted, but Valhalla has been released. It is by friendBOMBER and is spectacular.

Choose the newest one. You might want to “friend “ friendBOMBER so you know it is his course.Rodster wrote:Based on a search I found Valhalla GC courses both by TGC Member? Played Valhalla last week, was pretty good. Will check out Coeur d'Alene later tonight, just got a new Yamaha Atmos receiver and front Klipsch Atmos speaker add-ons and am in the process of getting everything connected, just waiting for some banana plugs coming through the mail.

Re: HB Studios Next-Gen golf game: The Golf Club
There's something funky going on with the graphics for Coeur d'Alene. I've played the first five holes on both the X1 and PC versions of the course, and the pine trees and birch trees have some otherworldly pixelation going on with them at certain angles and 30 to 50 yard distances. The pine trees distort so bad at times that it's hard to identify them as pine trees. You can turn the camera a few degrees and the problem goes away in one spot, but then may reappear in another spot.
The course otherwise looks and plays great, but this is a blemish that sort of throws a wet blanket over it for me. I've never seen anything like it on any other course

I had 2 front floor standing speakers, a center, 2 bookshelf surrounds and a 10 inch sub for a 5.1 system, all Klipsch speakers, added these today on top of my front floor standers: https://www.amazon.com/Klipsch-Surround ... B073VV9TTK and it does make the overall sound much better with sources that have Atmos, just need more sources that support it.DivotMaker wrote:I’ve got a Denon 7.2 Atmos receiver, but my Klipsch speakers are not Atmos.....color mr envious!vader29 wrote:Played Valhalla last week, was pretty good. Played a round at Coeur d'Alene and it was a good course, definitely will add it to a future society event.

I didn't see anything out of the ordinary on this course, did have a graphical glitch with grass on a course a month ago, don't remember the course but it was just this one hole at the tee where turning ever so slightly made the high grass and bushes flash in front:J_Cauthen wrote:There's something funky going on with the graphics for Coeur d'Alene. I'm not sure Vader, but the image you posted doesn't appear to be from Taulo Palo's Coeur d'Alene course. Here's an image of the 4th tee, illustrating what I'm talking about:

See that garish pine tree right in the middle of the screen. Taulo said that it was because he was right on the borderline of the planting limit, or so he was told by HBS.

For some reason on the 1X 95% of my swing have slow tempo on the downswing. Could this be a result of the 1X controller?
