The East Lake daily felt like a complete workout for me. I must have missed what, only four sand traps in total? Constantly short of the green, failing to judge the right distance, I still don't how I am in the red without the grids. Good daily challenge JC.

I was thinking that same thing I0's!! I couldnt make a putt to save my life during this round. It was a very challenging daily for me. Good work JC!

I'll be playing my round when I get up this afternoon, but had to hold a gun to my head to enter those settings
I felt like I've been a little soft on the Dailies the last week and this one was to be penance. They are expert 2 pins, with no grids and no caddy period. I didn't know for sure that there might not be some Carnival pin settings with this setup, particularly with Tournament speed. I might need my Mommy when I play this round

It is all about the approach shots in this particular round. I managed to get some close and also managed to birdie both par 5's missing an eagle putt on #9. Got to -5 on the front, but could not improve much on the back 9 as I ended up -7.....loved the settings in this one! What I am also finding is that in this game, the saying "on any given Sunday" or any day for that matter, anyone has a chance to post a great score and win....look at Ortho's -12 from yesterday....great round!J_Cauthen wrote:I'll be playing my round when I get up this afternoon, but had to hold a gun to my head to enter those settingsI felt like I've been a little soft on the Dailies the last week and this one was to be penance. Re: Tiger Woods 13 PGA TOUR and CE Info
I was cruising along in reasonably good shape. I was -3 through 13 holes and then 5 putted for a triple bogey from 18 feet on #14. I couldn't believe what the "ball above feet" indicator was telling me about the breaks because it clearly looked opposite of the crouched horizon view to me. My hard head would give up the notion and I skirted putt after putt by on the wrong side of the hole. I followed that melt down with a 3-putt par and a 4-putt double bogey later on.
I can't blame it on carnival pins or green speed. It was just horrible reads on my part in the case of the 5-putt, and a hot-headed, impatient attitude with the 3 and 4 putt greens. Well, that and the fact that I was a captive having to listen to my wife complain about the repairs needed to our deck while I was playing

HEADS UP!!!!
50 round rentals are available for Atlanta and Blackwolf Run for 18,000 in-game coins. You'll probably never use up all 50 rounds, or earn unlimited rounds anyway, so jump on this free DLC!!
I also thought I was going to put up a nasty score in today's daily when I was -6 after 7 holes, but I lost some momentum and put up a gruesome 9 on 18. I guess -6 overall will have to do.

At least you finished in the red. I was cruising along at -2(which should've been a -8) when I come upon #14 which is 600 yds uphill and my most hated hole on this course. Par on this stretch feels like an eagle, so I get to within 45 yds with the second shot, I then hit the most beautiful flop shot during my TW career to get and make my birdie chance from 5 feet away.Naples39 wrote:HEADS UP!!!!

As I leave #14, I'm thinking, man this it, I may not win, but I'll place and show. I then proceeded to bogey 15, 16, and 17. Then I had to make a 9 ft putt with a right break down hill just to finish at even par. All I wanna know, what sports psychiatrist did LeBron see to help him get over the hump? I need a few sessions with him, but seriously, that daily was awesome, just wished I could've kept my foot on the pedal.

Maybe we can get a group rate on a sports psychiatrist ddtrane. My confidence was shattered as I tee'd it up for this round. A 5-putt green early on the back 9 really cooked my goose. Once again, my most feared shot is a 90 yard wedge approach... it's gonna be 25 yards short to 20 yards longddtrane wrote: At least you finished in the red. I put this out in the DSP Cup thread, but it applies here as well. Do we want to continue the practice of enabling Bonus Pins (for XP multiplier use only) in DSP CC Daily Tournaments? I'm just wondering how many of us are still building attributes and really need this feature any more.
Secondly, does anyone know if there's a difference when you enable wind gusts when "Live Weather" is selected? I've been enabling it when I select Live Weather, but I'm thinking that should be dictated by the live weather conditions. I'm just curious about this, it's not a major issue by any stretch.

.
I started playing the game about 2 weeks after you guys and my stats are:
POWER 71
ACCURRACY 71
SPIN 51
WORKABILITY 51
RECOVERY 72
PUTTING 81
So I'm all for no boost pins during Tournament play. Besides, I've found an easier way to level up my CAG.

Re: Tiger Woods 13 PGA TOUR and CE Info
It's funny you should ask that, as i just literally made the decision to play in the daily instead of offline just now because I recalled boost pins were still enabled. I am definitely still building my golfer, and I was sitting about 2k away from my next upgrade. I was going to play offline to get it so I could get an additional plus to my stats before beginning round 3 of the weekly, but I just played online instead because I knew I could get the extra xp there as well.J_Cauthen wrote:I put this out in the DSP Cup thread, but it applies here as well. So I can tell you personally that it being enabled has made me participate in a handful of more dailies than I would have otherwise.

I'm still working on my guy since I only play in our online events and nothing else.ddtrane wrote: So I'm all for no boost pins during Tournament play. Besides, I've found an easier way to level up my CAG.
What's the easier way to boost your guy btw?

Go to play now, then select stroke play, then select number of golfers, select just one(#1). Then select options. At this point turn on the easiest settings but the most important option is to select RED TEES. Mind you, you're still playIng on tournament settings, but you'll be driving par 4 s in one, some not all, and you'll always drive the par 5's in under GIR, which will make the points multiply with the 10X boost pin. And use what other boosts make you happy.Danimal wrote:I'm still working on my guy since I only play in our online events and nothing else.ddtrane wrote: So I'm all for no boost pins during Tournament play. I know people may think this is cheese, but you're only getting extra poInts and you're not playing against anyone. Technically you're online, but the round is offlLine. Also, the first time you play from the red tees you'll unlock an achievement.

Good to get this feedback on the Boost Pins for XP multiplier only option guys. I feel better about enabling it as long as folks are still building CAG's by using it.
Re: Tiger Woods 13 PGA TOUR and CE Info
I know this won't be a real crowd pleaser, but today's Daily (starting at 7:00 PM EDT) is being played at Royal Birkdale. I'm trying something different this time to hopefully smooth over some of Royal Birkdale's quirky green topographies. I've got the pins set to "Easy 2", with no grids (I honestly think you're better off without grids at this course as they are so misleading) and manual Caddie. It's live weather and who knows what you'll get at this venue? I'll be here waiting to be tarred and feathered tomorrow evening

Re: Tiger Woods 13 PGA TOUR and CE Info
The grids and caddie are both set to on for Royal Birkdale, didn't make a difference for me as the couple of times I called for the caddie he was off. Winds were 15-18 mph for me tonight and only had two birdies with one being a chip in from the rough.

Re: Tiger Woods 13 PGA TOUR and CE Info
As usual the caddie does more harm than good to me so I went basically with the grids reading. Tough conditions. I had gust winds of up to 25 mph and I had trouble finding the right club to hit. The greens were average in speed I thought, but it was tough to read with all the ondulation. Finished at +1 after my match with JC.
John, that was a great game we had at Banff. The course is near Jasper, Alberta that's the area I was trying to tell you. I had a brain cramp on our playoff hole and you sank the final putt right down the middle. The way the match went back and forth, it would have been nice to extend it a little longer but again, I never hit a ball from the carpath before.

Re: Tiger Woods 13 PGA TOUR and CE Info
I did bethpage yesterday and everything was off on the green. At + 4 it went better that I thought as I havent played in a few weeks and my golfer still needs much building.
Thanks for having the xp pin available otherwise it ALMOST feels like a waste of time if I play these instead of the PGA solo tour..

Re: Tiger Woods 13 PGA TOUR and CE Info
Vader, the grid being enabled was a slip on my part. My whole objective with this Daily was to see if the prevailing contempt for Royal Birkdale could be ameliorated if we didn't have to trust the hyperdimensional grids there.
I haven't tried it, but I wonder if it would be possible to turn the grids off my game settings before I start the Live Tournament, and have it carry over into the tournament round? I'm not sure this will work, because I have True-Aim presentation enabled in my settings, yet I'm forced to play all Live Tournaments with follow camera
15 MPH winds? I selected Royal Birkdale for a "Play Now" round at 12:45 AM, and the winds were blowing 20 - 24 MPH! I backed out and decided that wouldn't be a good time to play my tourament round. I'm going to roll the dice and gamble that it gets better later today.

Yeah, I bet this is a real hodge-podge with the wonky grids and inconsistent caddie advice working together. I really hope I can turn the grids off for my round later today.10spro wrote:As usual the caddie does more harm than good to me so I went basically with the grids reading. Tough conditions. That was a great match foe show. I'm amazed at how many times my matchplay rounds go into sudden death! I think it was good therapy for me to see you roll those three snaking, downhill, left-to-right breakers - my most feared putt in real life and cyber life - with such ease. Fun time for real though, I still would like to have a night where we could get a group of us into a created, private room in the main lobby and reel off a series of 9-hole matchplay events between DSP'ers. I know that Ortho, Hogz, MERACE, and a few others have shown interest in something like this.

I'm really glad to hear that the XP multiplier option is compelling folks to play. I know I used XP multiplier when I was building up my golfer.XXXIV wrote:I did bethpage yesterday and everything was off on the green. I'm thinking about rounding out our club membership with a "marker" (my son's Gamertag) so that we'll have 25, until Wilk makes up his mind about returning or not. He has indicated to me in PM that it's still a possibility. If I hear from Wilk, I'll remove my marker to make room for him to take his rightful place with DSP CC once again. So, if you see "Avacado Soldier" listed on our members list, don't be alarmed. My son has no interest in playing this game, but he will give his name up for the cause
