Ughhh.... I'm off for a while now, and EA's Country Club site is down until 10:30 PM EDT. I can't set up a new Daily until then. I got home too late from work to play today's Daily and finish.

The online country club live tournament setup outage finally ended sometime this morning and I was able to set up a Daily for Friday, June 15th. There was nothing said about the reason for the extended out of service condition at the official site, I just know that for two days, when I'd go to the site, it would say our club either didn't exist, or it was a "Starter 1" club. :?

I was hoping that EA might be working some new options into the tournament creation tool, such as the ability to select True-Aim as a viewing option, but nothing has changed that I can see. I really don't like watching the action unfold using the Follow-Camera, which for some reason is forced in all Live Tournament play, whether it's online country club live tournaments or EA's created live tournaments. I keep hoping that something will change with that, but it's looking less and less likely as the days go by.

Oh, and to put your minds at ease, our club's level has been restored to its rightful "Elite 1" status. :D

I apologize fellas for not being more active in the last week. Was away for a couple of days with some Navy buddies playing golf and drinking. When I got back the BF3 maps hit and I have been on that nightly. I plan on starting the weekly today and will hit up the daily.

Understandable OrthoStud... I think for most of us the honeymoon with the new game is over and we're all starting to settle into our more normal play frequency. I wound up sitting Tuesday out because I got home late from work and was too tired to even turn on the XBox.

I hope the second patch is going to restore some life to the game. My patience with having to tolerate Follow-Camera for Live Tournament play has about run out. I don't know why, but I just don't like the way Follow-Camera presents the game... it's such a non-immersive perspective to me and feels so phoney.

Maybe the patch is going to fix things where I can use True-Aim, preferable with online multiplayer's True-Aim cut to finish camera angle, in Live tournaments, but my gut tells me it ain't happening :(

Since almost all my TW13 has been either our Daily's or Weekly's, I did not even realize that you can change camera's. Where is this in the settings? I know it must be staring me in the face, but for the life of me I could not find it. Is True-Aim a camera, or is it a type of difficulty/game play option?

Don, if you'll go to the game's main menu, there's a menu item called "Settings". Go in there and you'll see an item called "Presentation Settings". Select it and you'll be able to choose between: Follow, Presentation, True-Aim, and if you have a Kinect "First Person", which is the perspective I prefer by a long shot, based on my experience with it using the Move in the demo of the game on the PS3.

I choose to enable golfer animations along with the True-Aim camera. It's not because I want to look at the meaningless reverse angle animations of my golfer after the shot, but because that's the only way you can get a camera shot of the shot's finish after it's come to rest. The angles and zoom levels with this extra cut to finish view are vastly superior in online multiplayer play mode to career mode for reasons I of which I have no clue.

DSP Country Club Special Event: Augusta Par 3 Tournament

Today's Daily is a radical change of pace. I thought maybe a little sampler, requiring a very small time investment (12 - 14 minutes) might give folks a chance to get back into the mix a little bit. I know a number of you weren't in the club when we played our first Daily at the Augusta Par 3 course. It's a very different experience and probably worth the price of admission just to see this environment. There's nothing like it anywhere!

I've already played my round and as lousy as my wedge game has been over the last month, this was a great exercise in giving me more discipline and focus on "feel" with these aggervat'n basstods

Interesting format. Didn't do too well at +2, and most of my T shots were way off the flag. But I will take my first hole in one since the game was released on #7.

Hell, I wish I could play, period. I am in our Staff House in West Africa and have been here since Thursday after a 3 day adventure getting here due to weather delays. I get here and my 360 controllers are missing as well as my 220>110V power converter. So I can't even plug the 360 in, much less play games or DVD's. Seems our Logistics guy "borrowed" these items and forgot to bring them back before he left the country. He has said he will have them brought to me yesterday, but as I suspected the items have yet to show up. My next trip here will include controllers and a power converter as it is painful to have a 360 and TV to play but no way to play. It looks like I won't be playing until this coming Friday at the earliest, so good luck to you all in the Dailies and Weekly tournaments.

Based on its similarity to the Olymic Club, I went with Spyglass Hill for today's Daily. I thought everyone might be primed for a U.S. Open-esque round about now.

That course is rough! I started out with 3 straight bogeys and didn't get back to even until the 14th hole. Got birdies on 17 and 18 and finished -2.

uhmm...... ya....... i'm just going to skip the next tourney at St Andrews unless you remove hole 11 and 17 on the final round. I was expecting to hit my ball through a clown head eventually.

Can you say 6 or 7 putts on 11? 17 wasn't much better.

I played the first two rounds of the daily this morning, mind you it was the first time I'd played without the grids, I found myself a blistering +64 off the lead. Around #16 during the second round I found the Y button and realized the caddy will help you, I really felt like a simpleton! The next 3 holes I came in at par and couldn't wait to play the other 2 rounds, when I came back later the new daily had been started, never mind, no way was I going to shoot -32 break even. All in all, St. Andrews owns me.

I was -4 through 7, then I bogeyed 8, then went into the water on 9 twice to tie you at +2. Actually I had 3 different chip in birdies, man was I killing it!!

Reading the EA Tiger forums this AM it appears the PS3 version of the 1.02 Title Update has been released for TW13. I am trying to find out when the 360 version is going to be released as well as a patchlog describing the fixes.

Stay tuned.....

It's a bit bizarre that they posted this patch first thing this morning, yet nothing official has been posted about the contents of the patch. The only thing that I've read about being fixed thus far is the live weather for offline career play is now accurate. It will be interesting to see what all it contains.

I saw on the message board that Divot has left the DSP CC. What happened??

First round of the weekly started with 3 3 putts. I think I got back to even or +1 but I couldnt get a putt close to save my life. Good rounds at -6 and -5.

10spro had a helluva round at the daily at -13!! I thought I was going to catch you when I was -8 after 9 but the wheels feel off after that.

The no-grid putts have killed me so far in the weekly. Easily cost me like 6-7 strokes in round 2. Had a triple and two double bogeys!

I'm actually fine without aids for most of the holes, but then I run into a tricky one now and then that I just can't seem to read, and I give many, many strokes back.

This sounds like this might be chance to win this week! I must be terrible at reading the grids, because the no-grid greens might cost me a stroke here or there, but not much different at the end of the day.

No, I was banned, see the other thread guys. I am shocked and stunned that one person's vendetta is allowed to fester here and decisions are made by that one individual. I will say, be careful what you say to that individual or you will be sent packing. I am going to miss this community and playing games with you. I thought we had a pretty damn good thing going. Obviously I was too much of a distraction and so I am sent packing without ANY warning or dialogue. Good Luck to you all and I hope you enjoy your time playing Tiger 13.....

I have a question. Does anyone think wind kills distance too much in this game?

My driver is rated for 288, and without wind it's ends up at about 285-290 usually. If I'm driving into the wind, even if it's mild, it goes less than 280. A stiff wind and I'm looking at ~260. With a strong wind, I can hit it ~315, or even 330. Doesn't that seem like an oversized range?

Is it just my slow tempo swings? Too much loft on the driver?

My only issue with wind is when it is blowing left to right on my right handed golfer. I know other people report not seeing this but it happens to me most of the time my ball just jumps right off the club and keeps going.

A mild 5-7 mph wind blowing in this direction can throw me 10-15 yards or more off target. The same thing doesn't happen right to left, or left to right a little helping.

I can only guess this is tied into the workability attribute since I have almost no points in that (50 rating). That's the only thing I can think of that would cause me to see this and not others.

To answer your question I don't have much of an issue. 95% of my driver swings are fast, overswings I also tend to play to hit the ball lower into the wind with my driver by using the shot stick.

I have found side-wind doesn't really effect wedges, but the longer the iron, the more it will carry it away. Also, a downhill lie, even slightly, really amplifies the effect of the wind carrying ball away from you.

I have gone to the practice range and taken all kinds of wild swings and can't get fast-overswing off the tee. I don't know how you do it.

Honestly I think it is controller related. In all of my rounds of this game I have gotten perfect / perfect once. I'm just so use to my swings being at that tempo I know what to play for the distances, problem is the overswing kills back spin (that's just me guessing) so I would really like a fast / perfect to get the ball to back up. I don't know how much the balls play into it.

It's amazing but I have played titlest pro v1's for a long time. I wasn't getting much hold on the greens so my instructor told me to try the Bridgestone e6 ball and man can I spin that thing. I shot a 78 on Saturday and my short game was outstanding, needless to say I immediately bought 4 boxes of e6's. :)
