How many times last night did I risk a hail of enemy bullets to revive you while saying, "Everyone thinks I'm a f*cking moron, but I'M SAVING YOUR ASS, DICK!" :)

Such a great game.

When you steal one of those, though, one guy is the pilot and the other is on a rotating turret. Absolute wrecking ball
I had begun to wonder if you could steal those damn things... Lol. Boy, that could be a game changer for two to be on the ground, and two in the air plowing the road... :D

Holy damn, some of these areas make it seem like a brand spanking new game. Wildly different environments. I'm in Caimanes, and it's Amazonian. Lots of jungle, lots of waterways. Just cool.

Awesome! I plan on clearing as much as I can on Oroco today. I want to get in some more time with Mass Effect too. No school (again) so I have the time 8) 8O

Yeah, they've got a lot of variety for sure. From Jungles to Deserts to Salt Flats to mountains...totally enjoyable just hoofin' it through the wilds once in a while.

GR: Wildlands hits the big time: A feature story at The Ringer about the game's bankrupt morality! Actually, this is a fun piece to read.

Eh, I'm over the hand wringing, sudden "look what I've found", convenient morality that makes the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania avenue the Antichrist. Guy never even mentioned GTA or the plethora of other very violent, morally questionable games. Guess killing a hooker with a bat pales in comparison to freeing Bolivian from a killer gang of Coke monsters. And it's painfully evident he's knocking the game because of his ideological viewpoint. One of the best games of the year, hands down. And it'd be dandy if I never had to read another goober acting like Orange Julius was the seat and root of all evil.

Just my .02.

Just got back from my golf tournament in Vegas and I feel like I'm behind the curve now with this one. Everyone will be so far ahead mission wise that I'll feel like I'm holding people back.

How is it playing coop with someone who is way behind where you're at?

You must understand the demographics of most of The Ringer's staff and audience: Under 30 males. Skews heavily left. I just thought it was cool how a video game has inserted itself into pop culture.

By the way, our boy BK from San Diego wants in on the GR Poker Night madness. Another animal for the zoo!

Negative, Ghost. These missions are so much fun that I'm more than willing to do them over, multiple times. :)

Doesn't matter. I've held off pretty good on PC waiting for you to return. The wife plays about an hour or so most nights, and then I'm solo the rest of the time. I know tonight will likely have a lot more PS4 co-op as it's my normal Friday-night-games-and-beers party with a buddy, but you won't be very far behind me on PC. I only cleared the first zone there, and then went all over and did a bunch of rebel missions to unlock perks.

And as far as re-playing earlier missions, it doesn't matter to the player further ahead. They get replay XP. They just can't see your goals if they're unlockables that they already collected.

Sorry, I was at a house party/gig last night. Going to a buddy's to watch the Golovkin-Jacobs fight tonight, but I may be up for some GR Wildlands late tonight. Probably after 12:30 a.m. (ET).

I'll look for you fellow night owls!

I'm struggling a bit in the three star areas. I don't, in any way, say that as a negative. It's a great big ol' positive. But there are 4 and 5 star areas that I'm staying away from, going up in difficulty one at a time, and I look at those big, dark zones with their 5 star difficulties and shudder a bit...lol. Had to steal a truck last night and return with a doppleganger full of C4 before anyone was the wiser (about 3 mins). It was funny, because the usual approach (kill everyone, go in and get the stuff) just wasn't working. So, in an area with about 20 baddies, I killed..two. One at the gate, one near the truck. Then I was able to get the truck and get the bomb truck back. BOOM!

I'm constantly struck by how enormous this game is, and how much I enjoy simply running across an area that is glowing orange, with no real objective, but going in and mopping up just for the hell of it.

How is the campaign? I would love to play this game without real people from beginning to end, if possible. I know you can have some AI on your team. Are they competent like in Rainbow 6 Vegas, or do they just stand there taking damage and getting in the way? Is it worth $60 for the campaign only?

The AI is decent. You can order them to go wherever, hold, fire, etc. I've been digging the campaign.

Why don't you want to play online? You're missing it if you play only offline. Campaign is fine; online is fantastic.

The AI can take out a small contingent if you just tell them to open fire. They're pretty good as AI go, and you can play the whole game solo, but... Online Co op is SO much more fun. It's fun either way, but with real guys making real mistakes, it's a riot.

Very possible. I have a need to pump lead into Bolivians. :)
