Not only that but he seems to be a likable person as well. He did something nice for a kid who has cancer. The kid and his parents flew down from NY and wanted to meet his idol Curry. Not only did Curry meet the kid bit spent time with him and took him to the locker room to meet the other players then he autographed the shoes he used during his pregame shooting ritual. Hell he keeps that up and I may become a fan of his.

He's got a boring private life. Married young, already has 2 or 3 kids at 26 years old, mostly stays home with the wife and kids.

Raised in a relatively conservative family.

The bit of concern for the Warriors would be if he wanted to go home to Charlotte, where he and his wife grew up, when he's a free agent after next season.

Another aspect of Curry's immense popularity: He's 6-3, 185 pounds. He's not much bigger than most of us, unlike other NBA superstars who are 6-8, 250 freaks of nature or 7-1, 300 aircraft carriers. He doesn't jump over mascots or cars to dunk. He shoots bombs and layups, something all of us can try to do in our driveways or local gyms/parks.

All I know is every kid in my 11-year-old son's travel basketball league -- even the biggest kids -- move out to the arc before drills start so they can practice long bombs like Curry and the other shooters so prevalent today in the NBA. When I was their age, all I wanted to do was dunk like Dr. J. :)

I've never been a huge basketball fan. I used to enjoy the Knicks vs bulls match up. For some reason, the Knicks were my team. Starks and Ewing.

A Co worker of mine played college ball and then went on to d league. He said if he was a few inches taller, he'd be a pro. Anyhow, he said not only is curry the best player now, he's the best shooter of all time. Seems a bit crazy to say. Anyone else agree?

After that crazy game, tweets started coming in from players like LBJ and D-Wade as well as others saying he's the best shooter EVER.

This guy told me this months ago. He isn't just hopping on the bandwagon. He has a pure shot, but I don't know if it's the best ever. Larry bird had an effortless shot, and he was much taller too.

I don't recall Larry Bird consistently launching and hitting 3's from close to midcourt like they were 12 foot jump shots like Curry does.

Yes. He is the best long-range shooter of all time. The numbers and the eye test back it up. If not, then who is?

The only two even close, percentage wise were Bird and Nash, but neither took the kind of shots Curry is taking, with regards to difficulty. So I'd say Curry is pretty comfortably the best ever.

Exactly. Curry isn't rolling off a ton of screens to take and make these shots from 25+ feet. Many times he's using between-the-legs dribbles, fake crossovers and other very tricky moves to create just the sliver of space he needs to launch.

Curry's release reminds me of Marino's throwing release in his glory years with the Dolphins. Incredibly quick yet accurate. Far more lethal than any of his peers.

Yes, we are witnessing the best shooter ever and one of the top 5 offensive players of all time.

For guards, Magic or Oscar may be the only ones I take over Curry.

Curry jerseys are everywhere here in San Diego.

Well he'll probably own all the 3-point records by the time he's done.

Then again, they could set the regular season wins record and then get beat in the playoffs, just as his Panthers went 15-1, was widely favored in the SB, and got beat down by the Broncos.

Or he could break his ankles again, playing too much to try to get that record, and the franchise drops back to mediocrity.

Guess Warriors fans don't know how to handle prosperity.

His most recent game winner was nice, but hardly considered clutch. I honestly don't know, but is curry a clutch player? Everyone knows LeBron folds in the 4th. If golden state needed 2 points to win with 12 seconds left, would curry be option 1,2,3 like Larry legend was?

Totally agree, he's clutch especially when he drained a 3 pt from mid court against the Heat right at the halftime buzzer. And it wasn't a heave towards the basket, it was your classic long range shot and when the game was getting to crunch time late in the 4th he just TOOK over.

Fletch:

This illustrates Curry's brilliance: He could become the NBA's first unanimous selection as MVP:

Here are the 12 threes Curry drained Saturday against OKC. The degree of difficulty on most was extreme:

Yup, for as much praise Pat Riley gets in Miami, Danny Ainge deserves just as much if not more. He blew up the team, installed a new head coach and playing a bunch of rookies. His team is currently sitting in front of Miami with the 3rd seed and the tie breaker against the Heat.

And just imagine how scary the Celtics would be if they had gotten Justise Winslow.

F#ck Winslow, if he could have swung a trade for Horford...

Ainge was willing to give multiple 1st picks for the chance to grab Winslow. That's how high he was on Ainge's list of rookies. Can't remember if he made the offer to Miami or the team before Miami's pick but yeah there was the potential NBA version of the RG3 scenario in this years NBA draft.

Doesn't the Celtics have to get rid of a lot of those picks?

They have a pretty good team, which could beat Toronto or Cleveland in the playoffs.

So where would they fit all these draft picks on that roster?

Winslow is a nice player but he's going to have to really improve his shot. Will he be as good as someone like Jimmy Butler some day? Maybe.
