Curry - these are the finals. Stop posing when you make a shot with a minute left. Then when you can win the game you go up for a weak layup and get stuffed. Lucky the Warriors made it to ot.

Caves easy win if they just give ball to Lebron in OT.

Add - cavs out of gas in ot. Golden chance to win game 1. Think they spent a lot just to almost win. That Russian dude for the cavs is great. Where he come from. Him and Lebron great game.

What a game what a finals!

NBA screwing a superstar with no calls that's new.

Lebron got jobbed , Warriors crap game but they almost still won.

Best thing happen to the cavs was jr smith fouling out last min of ot. Van Grundy said it - dumb loses you games. Idiot gave the Warriors 5 points with dumb plays for them to tie in ot.

This will be a great 2 games coming up in cle. Cavs could easily be up 2-0.

Why don't the cavs play the Russian guy down at the end. He's awesome.

Dellavedova is becoming the personality of the Cavs. Gritty, tough, ugly, effective. He did a fantastic job guarding Curry all night. Curry isn't used to guys roughing him up.

Borrowing from my beloved boxing, Dellie guarding Curry reminded me so much of Marcos Maidana's first fight with Floyd Mayweather. Maidana roughed up Money, pushed him around, fought inside and dirty, pushing Floyd to the limit. Dellavedova was in Curry's face all night, grabbing, holding, scratching, and Curry wasn't used to that at all.

Really? Then how do you explain the Spurs last season?

This has nothing to do with traditional hoop values. This has everything to do with a superstar playing out of his mind, a team completely buying into the underdog mentality and a coaching staff designing a defensive scheme that's being executed to perfection.

Then again, maybe there is one basketball maxim that once again is being proven true so far in these Finals: Defense wins championships. The Spurs played excellent defense en route to the title last year.

Better 2nd half. Curry woke up. When they went down 20 knew they'd come back. But tyrion lannister won this game for them all on hustle plays.

Warriors will win next game. Looks like curry out of his rut.

Yup. Defense and rebounding. When the Warriors only had 20 first qtr points last 2 games, you knew they were playing the cavs game. If the don't score at least 28-30 in the first qtr, it'll tell you it'll be close.

Cleveland is playing iso ball out of necessity, not choice. In fact, Blatt espouses a Princeton-style, movement-based offense. LeBron overruled that after he returned from his winter "break," but Cleveland still uses court spacing and movement as the cornerstone of its offense, just like nearly every NBA team except for Memphis and the Knicks.

If Love and Irving were healthy, Cleveland's offense wouldn't consist almost exclusively of LeBron backing down his man and shooting in the paint or kicking to Smith or Dellavedova for threes.

There will be no seismic shift back to 90s iso-based offense if Cleveland wins the Finals. The Cavs will look almost like every other team next fall when Irving is healthy. Even moreso if Love stays, which I think he will.

Too much Curry last night. Some of the shots he made were ridiculous.

Warriors!

That was probably the worst trophy celebration ever. Even the late Stanley cup was better than this.

Congrats to Golden State for the well-deserved NBA championship. Very entertaining series. But the media blew it on the Finals MVP.

Iguodala was the Warriors' best player, but anyone with two functioning corneas knows LeBron James was the best player in that series -- by far. Switch teams for LeBron and Iggy, and the Warriors sweep, winning every game by at least 20.

Agree on the trophy presentation. Silver's attempted bro-hug with Iguodala upon the presentation of the Finals' MVP was beyond awkward. But I still like him far more than Stern.

You can take anyone off the Warriors and swap them with Lebron and its a sweep. And yes that includes Curry. Lebron was unworldly but I agree with the media that the MVP should come from the winning team. I could be swayed either way really and if there was one time it should have happened it would be this year but I just can't stomach "most valuable guy who didn't win" so I'm cool with Iggy getting it. Tho I do think the MVP should be able to hit a free throw every now and then.

Shaq was Finals MVP for three consecutive seasons, 2000-02. :)

FT% in the playoffs for Shaq's FInals MVP Years:

2000 - 52.5
2001 - 64.9
2002 - 62.1

And for Iggy:

2015 - 41.5

I rest my case. :)

Do you guys ever remember Shaq missing a key FT?

Meaning one that lost a series or something like that?

Really can't think of one time he ended up killing his team's chances from the line.

Pretty remarkable, IMO.

Like he always said, I make em when it counts. I mean he's a 52% lifetime FT shooter, so at least he's over 50%.

Very happy the Warriors won but so what shocked that they're being compared to all time great teams. By Nate Silver's reckoning, they may be the second greatest of all time, with a chance to make a run like the '90s Bulls:

http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/the- ... 70s-bucks/

They've been fortunate to be injury free this year. And in the playoffs, they've faced teams missing key players.

They only lost 5 games in the playoffs but fell behind several times by large margins. Some of these times, they either came back and won or made it close but still lost at the end.

The tendency to fall behind big raises doubt on whether they can continue to win big -- over 60 games in the regular season followed by deep playoff runs.

Maybe Curry will get some Jordan Rules type of officiating, since he's selling a lot of jerseys and these Finals had the highest ratings in over 10 years.

Let's talk draft! Sixers baby! :). Hey, I've gotta get excited for something.

Rumors are floating that the Sixers might trade down to #5 with Orlando. Supposedly Orlando loves Porzingis. If Towns and Okafor go 1/2 then the Sixers would trade down to #5 where Orlando sits. The Sixers would get the #5 pick and something else from Orlando and then still get either Russell or Mudiay - whichever is still on the board at 5. Again - rumor. I don't know if I like that scenario. Mudiay worries me. I like Russell but Mudiay is a risk IMO.

I watched Towns' predraft workout yesterday. He's a flat out stud. If he doesn't go #1 I'll s***. I didn't realize how active he was. Impressive dude.

I just hope and pray Riley doesn't draft another Napier or Beasley. Not asking for much, Riles sucks at draft talent. :P

Actually the word is fine. No new injury or pain. Just being cautious. I think they don't want him to play in the summer league and this is their out.

I think lebron had a lot more to do with the ratings than the Warriors. If it was Atlanta instead of lebron I don't think the ratings would have been that good.
