If he wasn't there, they'd probably be in like 10th place. So, you know, what would one be rooting for?Inuyasha wrote:

For Liverpool to put up the money to get Suarez?Zeppo wrote:If he wasn't there, they'd probably be in like 10th place. So, you know, what would one be rooting for?Inuyasha wrote:

I know what you're saying but I just can't stand blatant cheaters. He doesn't even try to hide it.
I bet MAN cit loses Wed.
Chelsea manager is a egomaniac. Why he sat Hazard cost him the game. That would be great if they miss out on the title by a point.

Luckily was at work but Im sure he must have beat up an old lady or two.Jimmydeicide wrote:WTF did Suarez do today? other than run his balls off.

Re: The Beautiful Game thread, season 2013/14
He was the One that truly believed his team could score more goals. Had a yellow card for complaining that he was blocked in the penalty area as he fell rather easily. One small glitch is nothing compared to his previous years, he's been rather good trying to improve on his theatrics.Jimmydeicide wrote:WTF did Suarez do today? other than run his balls off.
Re: The Beautiful Game thread, season 2013/14
just saw the replay. ok, i guess this was a cubs like collapse. I can see the analogy to 03 or 84. But I think this is more like the Sharks choking this season.
I guess the only way to explain this is Liverpool up 3-0 wanted to keep scoring thinking they could make up the goal difference vs City. But forgot to play D and instead may have given away the title.
It's been a wild year. Anything can happen. If Man C loses we're back to 3 teams winning it in the final weekend

Looking good for man city.
Re: The Beautiful Game thread, season 2013/14
Does every teams fan run onto the field or is this just a man city thing?
Thank god we stopped doing that in this country.

Kudos to Manuel Pellegrini. He's a guy of few words, lets his players do the talking, he's won a lot in SA, Mexican league. He's the calm before the storm, everything that Mancini was not. Attacking footie, Silva was great this year, Dzeko filled up the hole that Aguero left for large part of the season, they deserve the title in this wacky BPL minus all the drama of a couple of years back.
Re: The Beautiful Game thread, season 2013/14
Liverpool looked like they may have completely shut it down falling behind on that own goal in the first half but they did finish strong.
Second place gotta feel pretty empty after that high they were on a couple of weeks ago.
Looking forward...Goals were not a problem for them so I am guessing they will be looking for some help at the back.

Dull end to a spectacular season, both for Liverpool and the league as a whole. Can't get too worked up about City winning it, not angry, not thrilled, just bleh. Richest team wins isn't much of a story. On the other hand, the key players who didn't spend half the season coasting, particularly Silva and Yaya Toure, are more than worthy of being called champions. Absolutely brilliant years for both of them.
The Liverpool run gave me as much entertainment as any sports-related event in decades. The quality of their attacking football has already ruined the World Cup for me, as you won't see anything nearly as swashbuckling or technical over the summer. They did a hell of a job outperforming their expectations and payroll and I'm anxious to see the transfer policy this summer as they try to consolidate their league place and compete in the CL. Great, great year and so many good memories, no matter how badly things went in the last couple weeks I'll always think fondly of this team.
