Not a good Sink of the Mayo for Canucks' fans. They've simply been outplayed and outworked in this series, not to mention out coached. With Schneider still not 100% I question coach V's decision to play him when Luongo has been arguably one of the better players for VAN. Clearly, #35 was not ready to play the third period and the Sharks blew it wide open. It's time to make some drastic changes during this offseason in Lotus land.

Wow, if Pens don't get better goaltending the series with the Isles may go the distance.

What a game in OTT.

Fleury has lost his mind. Got to go with Vokoun in game 5.

I had the Pens in 6 for this series which may be still be on track, but they are getting outplayed at 5v5 more than I expected.

Did they change the icing rules?

That was like three or four in a row that lead to OT.

Great job NHL!

Now you know how I felt in game 2 between the Sharks and 'Nucks. It's do or die time for VAN.

After the sodomy it went to OT. New game. Anybody's game. Quick end that was.

Habs have no balls.

They fold at first sign of trouble. Their reaction should have been... f*** you Bettman! you filthy rat f***! and go and try win it in ot..... Instead they roll over and take the pipe up their asses. Lame they are.

Yeh shame that Zorba, they actually showed some balls there in the first 2 periods and then turtled worse than Claude Lemieux. So much for Budaj.

I'll leave the absurd officiating calls to XXXIV. With 5 minutes to go in the 3rd period a Bieksa shove becomes a crosscheck and Sharks tie the game up. Once in OT a Sedin check, yeah fu***ng Daniel Sedin shoulder to shoulder check becomes a boarding call, and yet another PP for the home team is called and it's all over. In the PIT-NYI game, M. Cooke sends an Isles player absolutely flying into the boards where B. Suter scores, and there was no call whatsoever. But out of all people, freaking Daniel Sedin gets the call.

Not that I had any hope whatsoever that VAN would come back from this huge deficit but they played their hearts out tonight and deserved a different outcome. From the get go, I said that this series would come to special teams. From the inability of the Canucks to score any with the man advantage to SJ's lethal PP. I look at the stats and overall Sharks have an outstanding 25 calls for the man advantage to Canucks' 10. Yeah, fairly called series. NOT.

In the end, Sharks were the better team overall but the zebras have to let the players play in OT. It's the playoffs, dammit. Don't come up with lame calls, man.

Heartbreaking loss in what was a helluva game. The officiating gets worse every year.

Kind of shocking way to go out for Vancouver. I did not see this team getting swept. It's amazing how fast things change--only 2 years ago they were so dominant in regular season and in the finals. Now a first round sweep?

All 4 games tonight are pivotal, though. It will be fun to flip around between them.

It is also funny that if you go to NHL.com and look at tonight's schedule, it shows tonight's LA-STL game and for series standing it says "LAK win series 4-0."

CPR is back tonight, and getting to make the last change will let Hitchcock use it more effectively than he was able to in LA.

Let's Go Blues!

It's nice we can finally see all the games on TV. This last 2 weeks has been fun watching the NBA/NHL games. I think last night I must have watched around 5 hrs of hockey, from the Pitt/nyi game to the hawks and the sharks. Then also snuck in there some NBA with the Knicks and Grizzlies.

Officiating wise, other than a few bad calls in OT, I think it's been pretty fair.

Some drastic changes are going to happen, no doubt. IMO, they don't really have an identity today. Two years ago, they were 1 game short of winning it all but many felt that they were just all skill and not enough grit. Fast forward to last night, the team is tougher alright but they were just too many damn penalties taken throughout the series not to mention the highly questionable ones last night, and the Sharks made them pay dearly. The inability to trade Luongo in the end was a distraction although credit to Lou he was the ultimate professional and never whined one bit at GM Gillis' inability to get what he wanted for #1. And no matter what happens with the Pens, after seeing J.M. Fleury play the post season in successive years, wouldn't Luongo/ Schneider look good there?

Mike Gillis has a 5 year contract and coach AV two more. Wouldn't be surprising at all to see Vignault go, although the winningest Canucks' coach ever wouldn't be unemployed for long. Having said that, some drastic roster changes must be made. Explore the NTC with the Twins who have one more year left, clean up the goaltending situation, Alex Edler would be someone that the Flyers would love to have in the back end in exchange for some offensive prospects.

But in the end, much like the regular season (although to be fair, they were riddled with injuries) they never played the full 60 minutes against the Sharks who made them pay with the extra man and were just too inconsistent and not disciplined enough to at least take one game in the series.

Predictably unexciting games last night. I'm ready for the real series to resume tonight.

Det-Ana still on a knife edge. Blues fighting for their life on the road. NYR coming off a spirited performance, looking to seize the series momentum.

With CHI easily advancing, the second round should be a helluva series whether it' s against SJ, ANA or DET.

Gotta give credit to the Leafs beating the Bruins and forcing a game 7 tomorrow. Reimer was rock solid for them while the rest learned to play a tight checking game keeping the Bergeron line at bay. The Krecji line for BOS is still the most dangerous for the Bruins.

Leafs are my heroes at least for tonight.....Fun to watch chara flopping around like the true coward he is.

I dont know if they can do it again. They will have to deal with whatever the fuckbag/ director of nhl operations and real life pig Colin Campbell have in store for them in game 7.

Go Leafs! Stay strong!

In terms of entertainment and good old hockey, I was pulling for the Wings today against the Ducks, so they could face CHI. Very close game vs ANA too with special teams in the end favoring the Wings. As I was predicting earlier, I don't think any team would like to face an under the radar DET team with all their experience and skills.

Jimmy Howard tends to play his best hockey at this time of the year, really looking forward to their series with the Hawks.
