Is there a way to deputize assistant Admins the way there is in the EA Clubs games? That would be nice. No offense but ... you know ... it's Teal....

Meaning...what, exactly? I'm not seeing any reason to take a jab at me, dude.

I sent a request to Teal for the club. Can anyone else send an invite?

That request isn't showing up that I can see, bro. Tried to send you an invite, but it tells me it can't find you because you haven't played the game. That doesn't make sense.

EDIT: Nevermind. It's just not terribly intuitive. Found it. Invite sent.

Okay, Leadfoot, PK, and Terry are now Co-Leaders in the club. Hopefully, that gives them power to invite and approve, as well.

I sent a request to 10spro before I knew I should have sent to you. Thanks!

I'm plowing through the single player. I just can't put this game down even though I've got a huge backlog of a+ titles. I'm about 50% through and I'm loving the customization options for each race. It's really a brilliantly designed game. It's exactly like Test Drive Unlimited in its addiction to finishing all of the races and finding all of the roads. Just a spectacular game. Definitely the surprise game of the year so far. It and Dishonored are definitely two games that just came out of nowhere to shock me.

Just sent you a friend invite, Dan. Once that's settled, I can send you an invite to the Club. Or perhaps Terry, PK, or Leadfoot could try it.

Wasn't able to get on tonight I'll check the invite tomorrow.

I did get to use my old MS Wheel, and I remember why I never used it the pedals never stay still the slide all over the place. Plus i have the old wheel that has those side flap things that don't seem to do anything in this game. I also couldn't figure out how to change view while using the wheel.

Having said all that holy hell is the game better with a wheel than a control pad. I just need to figure out how to anchor those pedals.

Loving the cockpit view guys. Thanks for the tip! Was afraid to try it as I figured it was restrictive but it's really the opposite. As J_C said, I feel more immersed and think I am actually racing better in that view.

I'm now on a quest to build a racing cockpit so these pedals don't move.

I'm also thinking of looking for a better wheel, one that can be used on the PC and 360 any suggestions?

There's really only one option for PC and 360, and you probably won't like it. It's the Fanatec CSR:

CSR Wheel Bundle

Image

You're looking at around $250 for that, or $360 for the "XL" value pack, which has a shifter. Not sure how well the shifter works with the 360 in the first place, though. The Porsche wheels on their products page will also work according to their site, but I've never used one and don't have any knowledge of them. But you're still looking at $250 or so for a decent wheel that works on 360 and PC. There are much cheaper versions for PS3/PC, but not 360 that are worth a damn. My MS Wireless wheel works, but it has no FF on PC, which blows. The wheel isn't exactly great, either.

I'll be getting a CSR Elite this holiday, probably. I'd still put the Thrustmaster T500RS above the CSR, but my T500 won't work on the 360, and with as much time as I've spent lately on Forza, I need a good 360 wheel. My wife is overjoyed at hearing that, I'm sure.

Do you have the original wheel or the newere one from MS? I have the original and I never sent it in for the free retrofit.

I have no idea. Probably the newer one. I had the original, it died, and I bought a new one. It seemed to be discontinued within a month or two after that, so I got it at the tail end of its release cycle.

Rubbish. You think your pedals you have slide badly? Wait until you have your wheel attached to it and you're trying to hold the whole thing together with your heels on the base. Not to mention those pedals are garbage, which will make it twice as hard to drive. The difference between those pedals and something like in the CSR with a load-cell brake is like a Ford Pinto vs. a Lamborghini. If you're going to spend that much on it, you want to get the CSR instead.

Ok then scratch that.

I would stick with my MS wheel but last night the thing smelled like it was burning with it plugged into the power supply for force feedback.

Anyone worried that tomorrow's NFS release will be really good and divert our attention from FH? I know I am....

I'm getting it, but I highly doubt it. I played the last 2 NFS games for a grand total of about 30 minutes. The Run and Hot Pursuit, I think it was? For me personally, the last few can't hold a candle to Horizon, but I can't say for certain on the newest one since I haven't played MW yet.

f*** this game and thread.

I spent an hour today looking at simulation car rigs. These things aren't cheap. So I went an ordered an actual racing seat with mount and sliders and I'm going to make it a winter project to build my own rig.

Which is going to lead to my spring project of finding a good divorce layer. :)
