I truly hope the Kinect play play like the Wii+, even if it means our swing is side-to-target away from the TV.

Any more Kinect swing impressions?

I hope it is so good it takes me away from the Wii version.

I dont see a need for it unless you reach a player limit. if you can take them with the Kinect go for it Dennis why should anyone care what control method you are using.

You've raised a question that I hadn't considered... hmmm, I'm pretty sure that both control type options will be available to all club members, so it should be either/or. I also imagine that there will be three types of gamers in the club: 1.) wireless controller only, 2.) Kinect control only, 3.) those who use both.

The only place where I see a potential stumbling block is with the club's Custom Live Tournaments. If the club is limited to one Weekly Tournament a week and one Daily Tournament a day, then play would have to alternate between the two control methods to appease everyone. I hope that there can be more than one Weekly and Daily running concurrently. That way, wireless controller only and Kinect only gamers will always have their chosen option open to them.

As for you hope that it's so good it takes you away from the Wii version, for it to have a chance, I think you're going to have to put something in your hands that at least equals the mass and feel of the Wii Motion +. I played some Tiger 11 on a friend's Wii, and I found it easier to get some sort of feel with that than I do an empty handed swing. I feel really awkward doing an empty handed swing and it actually causes me to develop a small hitch in my lower back.

If I get good reports from DSP'ers on the Kinect in this game, I'll buy one for my 360, but I'm also going to be swinging with a pitching wedge for everything but putts, and I'll actually swap to my putter when putting, for the feel of it. I'd go with a driver if I had room, but with my rec room's 9' ceiling, a pitching wedge is as long as I feel comfortable with.

Finally, I would be totally surprised to see a "side-on" Kinect option be patched in down the road... I'm just picking up signals here and there that hint at it.

I'm the other suspect that J_Cauthen referred to this Forum to join the DSP Country Club for TW13.

My gaming history goes way back to the original PC Links game (Links The Challenge of Golf). I've played just about every PC golf game made but switched over to console golf gaming with Tiger Woods 2007. My virtual sports gaming style is to play the game as close to as the sport is represented in real life. I'm looking forward to playing TW13 on Tournament mode with the new Total Swing Control on my Xbox 360.

Like J_Cauthen, I'm waiting to hear the reviews of TW 13 using the Kinect before I decide to purchase it. I bought the Move for my PS3 for TW12 but I was very disappointed with its implementation in TW12.

I'm looking forward to playing with you guys here.

JC.. Is there a list of how many people are currently wanting in on the OCC. Is there also a list of who wants to play what?? Tournament vs AM vs Kinect?

There is interest. But I'd wait until the game actually drops before counting on anyone.

Besides, it's not like there is a line forming in order to play.

Good to see you now have your DSP credentials Mark. There's not a higher quality assemblage of sports gamers on the net, IMHO, than what you find here!

Good question, we don't have a list... it might not be a bad idea to start one. Here are my vitals:

Platform: XBox 360 (PS3 version possible also *if* Move is vastly improved from TW 12 and Kinect lacks)
Gamertag: J Cauthen
Prefered difficulty: Tournament, will play Tour Pro on occasion
Controller type: Wireless Controller, but Kinect could happen depending on quality

Aristo, unless I'm mistaken, I believe that clubs will actually be able to begin formation tomorrow. The OCC website is supposed to go live tomorrow and the OCC menu will probably be open to some degree in the game demo. My best guess is the actual club membership sign-ups will be via the OCC menu within the game and the Custom Live Tournament setup tool (and hopefully Live Tournament leaderboard) will be on the OCC website. I don't know what other information or stats may be made available on the OCC website. Maybe they'll surprise us with some depth there that we haven't anticipated?

I hope no one takes offense but many of you guys are putting the cart way ahead of the horse here.

If we can create the community tomorrow I will and we'll see what happens from there. I volunteered to do this because I've run a bunch of leagues for DSP and depending on whom you talk to they have been fun or complete s*** :)

Game doesn't come out for another few weeks so lets relax. It's not like we're going to discourage any DSP members from playing. It's nice to see people aped up but I'd really like to see what the options are when we get in there before we start saying how we're going to do things.

Dan, there is a huge difference between the golf community and an NFL league. Like real life, all golfers don't play in every tourney, so by creating a country club type group would just allow guys to play tourneys that they want and when they have time. I don't believe there will be a format that makes every player play in every tourney like there would be in a Madden league or something. So hopefully it's a lot more flexible than having a rigid NFL like schedule.

Good point... I don't know how much we're really going to learn about the OCC with the demo or the OCC website, but I'm sure there will be more to learn once the final game is released.

I concur, should be a more fun. Plus, it is easier to get a round in on your own time than scheduling.

Oh I don't disagree at all.

I simply mean I have no idea if we can set up tournaments just for Kinnect users vs controller users etc. I've read what they posted but a lot of it is vague and lets be honest it's like EA to overhype and online component then when you start using it you find out it's not as great as promised.

My hope is there can be multiple admins or everyone can set up tournaments or there is even enough flexibility to have a Monday night 9 hole league or something like that. I just don't think we'll know enough until we can get in and play with it. I wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow all you could do was set up the league name, bag tag and get a website and that's it.

My hunch is that there will be an option for simultaneous Live Tournament competitions, but again, we might not know that for sure until the 23rd, at the earliest.

That's what I'm expecting, anything beyond that would be gravy.

Stupid questions: Augusta is in the regular version of Tiger 13, correct? Do you need to buy the Collectors' Edition?

There are 5 additional corses in the CE. it is only worth it if you plan to get those courses later through DLC. $10 extra is cheap for 5 courses, one or two of which are brand new.

There is also an additional course that I can't talk about until the game is released....

I think the CE version which is what I am getting should include the following courses:

PGA National
Pinehurst Resort
Oakmont
The Old White TPC (formerly Greenbrier)
Straits Course at Whistling Straits

The only parts of Augusta that aren't in the standard edition are its practice facility and the Green Jacket presentation.

I just ordered the CE version today from Amazon.com. I opted for release day delivery. What they did was to apply my $10 credit to a future purchase to the shipping, and I wound up having to put 70 cents with the purchase to cover release day shipping costs. It was worth it to me. Oh, I'll get the celebrity pack, which features: Ice Hockey legend Jeremy Roenick, Football Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk, Basketball super-star Dwight Howard and Boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard. None of the means anything to me, but some folks may see this as a plus.
