At some point I had to re-load about an hour of gameplay because I ended up with some normal mount following me around. Couldn't have that. I couldn't live without it.

Your comment about the crowded house reminds me of two reasons that I wish I were playing on PC

1. House Mods. For Morrowind I had some ridiculous weapon racks and bookshelf mods.

2. Broken quests. I have a half dozen quests in my journal (and even more crap in my inventory that I can't offload) because the quests are documented as busted. You can use the console on PC to reset quests or remove inventory, which would be so nice.

Just completed the "Night to Remember" sidequest, the one that starts with a drinking contest at the tavern in Whiterun. It is a perfect example of why I cannot stop playing this game and have no real desire to touch any other games in my collection right now, including an unplayed copy of Uncharted 3 that I got for Christmas.

My brother texted me last night to tell me he got the Platinum achievement on the PS3 version. 120 hours. This game should be sold behind the counter and have a cigarette-style warning on it. :D

Get in, Macca!

This game is so much better in the late levels than Morrowind or Oblivion. The Daedric and Dragon Priest quests remain tough, and they do such a nice job of storytelling within some of the side quests that it stays fresh.

Blackreach...such a cool idea.

Holy crap I didn't know they finally added the Steam workshop thing to Skyrim.

That is freaking bad ass so easy to find mods and keep them updated.

Oh wow - that Steam Workshop thing does indeed look pretty f'ing bad-ass! I hope they start to implement that in more games (supports Team Fortress 2 right now as well).

Some funny, some useful.

I was stunned when they took Mark and Recall out after Morrowind.

New DLC for 360.

http://www.nbcnews.com/technology/ingam ... rim-968047

The Hearthfire add-on allows players to buy land and build a home from the ground up.
According to the developer, you can have a simple one-room cottage or "a sprawling compound complete with armory, alchemy laboratory, and more." Want a garden? It's yours. How about a fish hatchery? You can have one of those too.

The add-on also lets you adopt children as well... you can play games with them and allow them to have pets. And this kind of family business will earn you "new bonuses."

Meanwhile, you'll also have to guard your new digs and your wee ones from unwanted visitors (kidnappers, skeevers and giants among them). Yes, it seems the dragonborn's work is never done. But fortunately, "Hearthfire" lets you hire some help to keep up the house. You can have a steward and even your own bard.

Bethesda says "Hearthfire" will be available for download for the Xbox 360 version of the game for 400 Microsoft Points via Xbox Live starting Sept. 4. No word yet on when it will arrive for PlayStation 3 and PC players.

New add-on looks pretty cool. I wasn't feeling the vampire expansion, but this looks very good.

Hey Guys,

My wife has been playing Skyrim off and on since it was released. She's playing again and her game is freezing the majority of times she tries to save her game. I've cleared the cache and even moved the save file to another drive on the console and nothing seems to help.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

No idea on the freezing, sorry--but the Dragonborn DLC linked 2 posts above released on Tuesday, if anybody cares.

I am on that like Yasser Arafat. Riding dragons. Took 'em long enough! They're lucky I generally hang on to my Elder Scrolls games.

I didn't want to start a new thread and technically I am under NDA but I got to test Elder Scrolls Online last weekend. Because I am eager to be invited back I don't plan on breaking the NDA but I will say one thing.

I never, and I do mean never thought I would pay for another MMO. I'm buying this game day one.

Nice endorsement. Which system did you play it on (PC or console)?

I'm terrified of this game. This could very well devour my entire gaming life.

I am still, slowly, playing Skyrim. I picked it up at release, but didn't go "all in" like I did with Oblivion (and all the DLC). So far I've completed the Mages College and Thieves Guild. In the main quest I just got the Elder Scroll.

I decided against Elder Scrolls Online once I read it has a $15 monthly fee. Besides the fee, I prefer playing these types of games on my own, exploring at my own pace.

And thanks for bumping this thread. I enjoyed reading through everyone's Skyrim stories.

Super, duper jealous. And like Rob, I am also extremely terrified of what this could not only do to my gaming life, but also ability to sleep.

Thanks for the heads-up, Dan, and can't wait to hear your impressions when you can share them.

I played the PC version and honestly it could be released right now, I've played far worse release games. I can probably say this without breaking any NDA. ESO felt like playing Skyrim which just a lot of other people around. Meaning the quests where the same top notch quality and I think that is what blew me away.
