Wow.. very impressive.

My wife told me Ellen was giving them away on her talk show to everyone in the audience as well as Oprah?

Sold or shipped? I read that they have shipped 8 million on IGN but haven't seen a sales figure. Still, impressive either way.

IGN had the same article but they have an update: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/114/1142767p1.htmlStill very impressive. My guess is they've sold at least 5 million.

I am still enjoying Active 2, but some of the programs are starting to get on my nerves as the game freezes towards the cool down portion. Not sure if the Kinect just doesn't get your whole body when you're doing the stretches for cooling while lying down or what not, but after sweating it out for almost 1 hour, you want to see your progress. Unfortunately, it's not the 1st time that it happens to me, so it's frustrating. At this point I don't think it's the disc, but more with the Kinect not seeing you properly and then freezing. Has this happened to anyone else?

I think it is Active 2 that is the issue. I don't have any issues with YSFE or other programs but Active always stops reading me etc.

I've read quite a few complaints from reviews and gamers alike about the Kinect version of Active 2. Seems the PS3 version is much better in terms of responsiveness of the sensors.

Forza 4 to have Kinect compatibility, cant wait to see how the force feedback is implemented. The more Kids you have the better the effects, 3 kids is recommended 1 on each side and your eldest behind you for acceleration.

It's hard to go back to Wii after Kinect, in my experience.

I popped in some Wii sports resort for the first time in a long time yesterday, and even though the game was definitely interpreting some of my arm and wrist movements far more accurately than the Kinect can, it felt so much more stale. I was incredibly aware of holding a controller, and it was frustrating that body movements didn't matter.

EA's posted that their next 360 title update will "provide better movement tracking". Sounds like a coding issue.

That's good news. Those squat lunges had my heart going for sure yesterday, I think I was doing a cardio day where a lot of jumping was involved too and I was on the last 3 cooling exercises to finish the program when the freeze happened. I still think that it's got something to do when you're doing the floor exercises as the Kinect doesn't seem to cover your whole body in a lying position.

I did have a freeze a couple of days ago during the cool down stretching period. It was frustrating. Hopefully it will not be a recurring problem.

Maybe related or not, my xbox no longer will run Kinect Sports. I think it might be a drive/laser issue because the disc did run on a friend's xbox. This is the only game I am having an issue with at the moment. I still have a older Xbox so maybe it is time for a new one. The Sports disc issue and the one Active 2 freeze has me wondering.

Watching my 2 1/1 and 4 1/2 year old boys playing Kinect Joyride together is a riot.

They both roll around on the floor to make stunts and then pump their arms back and forth for the car turbo.

Kinect is freakin awesome for the younger crowd...they must burn major calories playing this thing.

I will try and post a video of them playing....hilarious!

I snagged the EA Sports Active from the Amazon sale. I plan on setting up and doing my first workout this afternoon.

Once I recover from shovelling ice...

I mainly want to use it for some cardio stuff, as my doctor said to get more excercise and drop a few pounds. Can you tailor your workout for stuff like that? (I haven't even popped the disk in yet.)

Yes you can. You can just "ask" the virtual trainer to set up a CARDIO workout at whatever intensity (easy-hard) and whatever time limit...10-30 minutes. You can also create your own from the exercises in the program. I wouldn't recommend that until you get a feel for all the exercises. If you are looking for a real challenge go into the other set workouts. They are ball busters. I have them below. Other than Cardio there are other workouts tailored to Full Body, Upper Body, Lower Body and Core.

All of these workouts include warm ups, cool downs, varying levels of weight training, cardio, core/ab work and activities (like soccer goalie, mountain biking, etc.)

1. Dodge Ball Boot Camp Advanced (High Intensity) - 52 minutes, 459 calories
2. Calorie Burner Advanced (High Intensity) - 39 minutes, 331 calories
3. Core & Crunched Advanced (High Intensity) - 44 minutes, 312 calories
4. Full Body Workout Advanced (High Intensity) - 41 minutes, 307 calories
5. Mountain Gravity Workout Advanced (High Intensity) - 41 minutes, 374 calories
6. Power Up Advanced (High Intensity) - 42 minutes, 357 calories
7. Soccer Skills/Drills Advanced (High Intensity) - 58 minutes, 463 calories (this is an ass kicker...no pun intended!)

I decided to just start with the 9 week program, since its been a while since I've done serious exercise. It was pretty neat, and the tracking only slipped up a couple of times, strangely not when I was sitting though. Of course, I also had a 4 and a 7 years old running around behind me, so that could have affected it!

I have found that whenever there is an exercise on the ground to remain standing until the Kinect/game prompts you to sit. If you sit right away it prompts you to stand until the sensor recognizes you.

My wife loves EA Sports Active 2, it worked her out quite nicely yesterday and she is eager to get back at it today.

Guess it's my turn. :)

2K Play Announces Carnival Games(R): Monkey See, Monkey Do(TM) Coming Exclusively to Kinect(TM) for Xbox 360(R) This April. Franchise to enter next-generation with over seven million units sold worldwide.

"More than seven million video game fans around the world have 'stepped right up' to Carnival Games," said Steve Lux, vice president of business development for 2K Play. "Now, with the immersive, controller-free experience of Kinect for Xbox 360, a new generation of gamers will literally be able to 'step right into' the larger-than-life Carnival Games experience."

"We're thrilled 2K Play has re-imagined the top-selling Carnival Games universe to take advantage of the one-of-a-kind Kinect technology, launching players into an exciting, controller-free funfest that can only be experienced on Kinect," said Matt Barlow, General Manager of Xbox Marketing.

Classic games like Alley Ball, Milk Bottle Throw and Wheel of Chance add to the family fun. All manner of interactive prizes and surprises abound, including pet dragons, robot cowboys, flying bears and ninja masks.

In addition, Kinect for Xbox 360's voice recognition technology allows The Amazing Wodin, a wily wizard with a weakness for wit, to advise players of their future. Also making his debut appearance in a Carnival Games title, is the Monkey Barker. Smartly dressed and renowned for his dancing skills, he promises to bring a fair share of monkey mischief to the midway."
