Hell, I like the Canadian anthem better than our's.10spro wrote:
I wanna gives Blues fans the benefit of a doubt but I am pretty sure there were a good number of disrespectful morons booing the Canadian anthem in game three. I kept saying to myself maybe they're just saying bloooos.

Blues look like they have a tee time scheduled for tomorrow. Pack it in boys.
In other news....
GO CARDINALS!

Ballsy comebacks by St. Louis and New Jersey. BUT WHAT A FINISH IN CAROLINA!
Marty has no argument. He was out of the crease, and it looks like he tried to initiate the contact. Amazing finish.
Ah, the glory of the chase for Lord Stanley's Cup! Center Ice and picture-in-picture is an ace combination for nights like tonight when there are five games.
Take care,
PK

I'm a Pens fan and I think the only one owning the Flyers is Fleury.toonarmy wrote:Sure am glad I'm not a Flyers fan. Man the Flyers are getting owned by Pittsburgh. I thought that would be a competitive series, but instead it has been fairly lame due to the lopsided talent advantage of Pittsburgh.
Clearly you haven't actually watched these games.toonarmy wrote:Sure am glad I'm not a Flyers fan. Man the Flyers are getting owned by Pittsburgh. I thought that would be a competitive series, but instead it has been fairly lame due to the lopsided talent advantage of Pittsburgh.
Just got back from the game tonight. Crowd was nearly as intense as Sunday unfortunately right from the start, but it was pretty cool that most (including my section) didn't sit down for the final 8 minutes of the game.
Fleury was the difference tonight. Several times his leg seemed to kick out of nowhere to make a big stop. He's so quick and athletic for a guy his size. I said in my original prediction that the series would tip on Fleury outplaying Biron and that's exactly what happened tonight in a pivotal game. 45 saves. Damn.
Also second time in 4 games Crosby has started the scoring with a 'controversial' goal. I am utterly convinced the game 1 goal was kicked in and he absolutely did not touch with his stick, but I haven't seen enough replays to judge the one tonight. I assume he was pushed in because he crashed into Biron pretty hard and there was no interference call.
Third straight solid performance from the Flyers but here we are, 3-1. Probably too big a hill to climb unfortunately.
I'm highly biased, but it was a legit goal. Even the homer Flyers announcers (the same ones that were b*tching that Malkin is never called for penalties literally 1 minute after he just left the box) weren't complaining on CSN and said it was a goal.Naples39 wrote:Also second time in 4 games Crosby has started the scoring with a 'controversial' goal. Obviously Fleury was the main difference tonight, as Pittsburgh did not have one of their better games as far as the defenders and wingers are concerned. The thing is that Pittsburgh's talent level is so good right now that they do not have to be on top of their game to win. 3-1 in the series is certainly indicative of that. Just think how many goals Pitt would be getting if the top scorer in the league had something other than a struggling Sykora and a mediocre Fed as his wingers. If Sykora can get it going that line alone will get a couple more goals a game to add to the total. I am not a Pen's fan, but I think they can go far in the playoffs with the talent they have, especially considering their third line is playing really well.

Wow, the Blues blow a double minor PP in overtime with their backs against the wall.... and then get a roughing call behind the play with a 3 on 2 chance to score. This one is about to end me thinks.... they blew it.

That was one of the more deceptive series sweeps you'll see. Vancouver didn't dominate the series, but the Canucks' depth and balanced prevailed, and Louie stood tall.
Bummer for St. Louis. But that team is a rising power in the West.
Now the 'Nucks have plenty of well-earned time to heal the bumps and bruises before the second round. Congrats to Vancouver!
Take care,
PK

Marty had no argument. He was out of the crease when bumped, and it almost looked like he initiated the contact, looking for a cheap call.fletcher21 wrote:Somebody needs to call a Wahhhhhhhhhhhhmbulance for Marty the little girl Broduer.. Throwing his stick and getting in the face of the refs after the game. Classy move. Classic Broduer

This is how you smoke someone in the playoffs.

The other sweep in the West is coming up on Thursday/
Sharks are back in the mix of things as their once potent PP finally clicked in ANA and their Captain P. Marleau finally gets a point. Boyle and Blake were big in the win too.

Right, because he's been known to get demonstrative like that.
As an objective Devils fan, I agree with PK that Marty was too far out of the net to warrant the call there, but his ire was as much to do with the rest of the game as it was that final play.
Just take a look at the Canes' third goal for an example of a non-call on running Brodeur's crease.

As for the ending, I'm more pissed off with the usually steady Paul Martin's weak pitchfork attempt to clear the puck with seconds ticking away. Still, it was a gutsy performance to get back in this one and the team should gain some confidence from that.
Hopefully Marty channels some of that frustration into a shutdown performance in Game 5 at the Rock.
